Anyone from Europe who plays scrims against people with an 80 ping or higher know what im talking about. Camping in a corner, and being sprayed to death by someone legging it. You go ask him WTF, ask for his demo's, check it out: See that he didn't come spraying around the corner, he just stood there for a second, then started shooting -_- Gotta love broken commands :< |

MMORPGS in general: taking your last quest monster to 10% hp when a newbie runs in and kills it and now ruining your entire quest and thus forcing you to do it all over again. If anyone has played Priston Tales, the quest where you have to get those body parts from those wolf things, iit's the game I speak of. Prince of Persia: Some of the puzzles, you know the ones I speak of...ALL OF THEM! EVE Online: Mining asteroids innocently in your lil frigate when suddenly 4 space pirates warp in and blast you a new exhaust hole :( + killing pirates in a nice asteroid belt to only be PK'd by some corp who "owns" the place :P Maple Story: Finally getting your first class then realizing how ridiculously same the stats are with the Novice class. Ragnarok Online: Being the melee class trying to fight the Wizard with the 60% freeze spell that deals 1000+ damage per hit. Magic The Gathering (card game): setting up your manas and support cards to summon your big mother f-ing monster of chaos when...your opponent slaps down a "Remove All Cards" card...GAH! Any FPS game: starting a mission with the crappy pistol and finding out weapons you PICK UP don't transfer over for some reason. BG/BG2: Characters being randomly perma-killed or finding out that slaughtering all the orcs which cost you several hundred gold in potions have nothing on them but 2 copper necklaces, 10 gold pieces, and a rusty broken sword. Jurassic Park: Dino Battle (?): When either the computer, your friend, or yourself figure out that one move that makes you grab the enemy by the face and whip em to the ground (which does a nice chunk of damage and stuns em), and then realizing you can spam it. |

That doesn't really qualify as a "No fair!" moment in a video game, it's actually griefing, which is a hip way of saying "being a fucking douche bag". Add dolts who think whistling, making animal noises, or playing retarded loops to the list. When playing MP FPSes on public servers, I've recently started applying what a friend calls the "What the fuck was that?" rule. If I say "What the fuck was that?" more than twice in a game, I jump servers. It's proving to be good advice, especially for COD4. |

Also realising that your last save was about 1/2 hour ago, and you've just died |
Beat Writer Posts: 211 Joined: 2 Apr 2008 | Hmmmm, everyone said System Shock 2 was near-impossible, but I got through it ok. You have to be VERY careful with weapons and ammo at the early stages though. And one major gripe (apart from the fact that every shotgun the Many's foot-soldiers have is broken when you try to take it from them, despite them firing at you with it just seconds before) - how come your shotgun and your pistol do roughly the same amount of damage, regardless of range? You'd think that a shotgun would do a lot more damage at close range, and a lot less at long range. Not the case. Doesn't stop me recommending SS2 as one of the scariest games I've ever played though... Anybody who seriously got freaked out by FEAR (how?), try SS2 with surround-sound headphones. It will probably turn your hair white, but you'll enjoy it. Trust me on this. It'll work easily on Windows XP with a patch you can get easily online, although I haven't managed to get it working with Vista yet. Unfair moments in games? You'd have to go back to the 64KB systems to find the worst ones. Racing games where if you so much as scrape another car's paint job, your own car immediately stops and bursts into flames... overhead-view driving games where the screen is so small, you can barely see three inches in front of your own bumper, yet you drive at light speed and die if you so much as hit a bush... overhead-view shooting games like "Rambo" and "Commando" where you only have to get hit once to die, but the enemies and bullets use up so many sprites that the computer can't display them all, hence deaths from being hit by nothing at all... Beat 'em ups where the enemies are psychic and move around like cheetahs on speed, while you crawl about trying to time your slow kick and punch attacks to the millisecond in order to actually hit the damn things. Guys, compared to us ancient C64-ers, you had it easy. But "Last Ninja 2" and "Last Ninja 3" on the C64 are still two of my favorite games ever, so we had it good sometimes as well. :) |

If i were you i would have shot the medic behind him instead... On topic: All of Condemned. You are armed with a slow as piss wooden board and are supposed to fight against perfectly silent, ceiling running "homeless and drug addicts" who can club you to death with anything in a single hit if you don't block perfectly(which is impossible unless you are a telepath, some of the enemies have a shorter swing animation then you have a block animation) but take 10 hits to the head with a fire axe in return and are more often then not armed with shotguns and smg's. Can't say anything about condemned 2 because it's not out on pc and if yahtzee is to be belived, it's better this way. |

It seems that all Americans have a better connection than me, which is understandable. The fact that I still manage to play fairly well despite a quite noticeable bit of lag always brings a smile. |

SS2 is fantastic, and I also really enjoyed FEAR. They just go at being scary from different angles, SS2 had RPG elements done well, and FEAR had better gunplay. I do horribly miss the creepy zombie noises, but i'm also a sucker for, "Creepy angry ghost girl with bangs covering her face who you just can't stop". |

YES YES YES, ABSOLUTELY YES. Aside from that game though, there was a game for the NES called Anticipation, which I decided to call "Precognition Training" |

My characters could kill most things in one hit, or one combo certainly, the game went from being funny easy, to seven shades of horribly difficult in one boat ride, never got past that, not even the combined awesomeness of roberto and Tenkai (*cough*samonosuke*cough*)could save me from that, never got past that point Oh and some moments in S.T.A.L.K.E.R (with oblivion lost mod) - OK, got to assualt this old train depot, i have an ak-74 with lame scope, and 2 pistol rounds, they have atleast 2 snipers, 6 guys with AK's, a military helicopter...and hostages....oh fuck. |

I restarted 6 times after losing every savegame I had on each previous character... And then I find out that the way to make it stop crashing is by deleting all your savegames and never overwriting any new ones... 7th character gone. No fair! |
