if anyone knows why ryu in "shenmue" has the nelly style band-aid, please tell me. i don't really think they ever explained why he's wearing it.
while i consider myself a big "shenmue" fan, it didn't really occur to me until i bought number 2 a few days ago and started watching the full length movie that i really started wondering that, (and i know it's taken me about eight or nine years to ask). i know what your thinking, "how can you be a fan if you haven't even played "shenmue 2?" well, my answer would be... because i can.
+ it just hasn't occured to me to go and purchase it... anyway though, that is my question. does anyone out there know the answer?

His 360 just bricked on him, he threw his controller in anger, it bounced off the wall, flew back and struck him. Ergo, the band-aid. Shenmue was a great game though.

Wow, this joke couldn't be any less relevant to Shenmue if you said Ryu cut himself in a tragic NES cartridge-blowing accident.

i dunno? maybe a fight before the game starts? and he liked the fashion statement? additionally, please PLEASE hail magus, do a review of shenmue 2, cause i played 1 and LOVED it and i need to find out whether two is as good. also want to find out what happens to ryu.

cuz his dad died? Nelly had a band-aid cuz his brother or something was in jail so the main character's dad got killed....only thing I can think of.

Defect in the material of his existence. Band-aid is the only thing holding it together. Remove if and his reality will implode in on itself and his self will cease to exist.

Or maybe he just cut himself shaving.
