To hear the commander say: "Your the last one, complete the mission" is a very nervewrecking sentence, to say the least. |

Bricks were well and truly shat. Edit: Also doing the last level of Halo 3 on co-op online with some friends. When you make a last ditch warthog jump off a collapsing forerunner platform and see one of your friends sail over your head in another hog, that's also a bit of a "oh...shit" moment (but half because it looks so dam cool lol). |

The first time I played that level I ended up losing sleep because those bloody Puppets would come at me in my dreams, and I obsessed about being too scared to play it at night. It's not the same the second time round (nothing ever really is) but that first time, well... |

Paperboy Posts: 16 Joined: 30 Jun 2008 | When you enter Ravenholm on HL2, and hear the moans of those faster zombies. (I forget the technical term >_>) After reading the 'Concerned' webcomic, I knew that that meant, and actually exclaimed, 'oh....shit'. There are many moments on Halo when the room has been clear, then I turn around and there's a gang of flood running towards me, when I have no ammo, or a shotgun that needs reloading. Condemned scared the crap out of me when I realised how fast the homeless guys came running at you. |

Copy Clerk Posts: 51 Joined: 15 Dec 2007 | Oh God, Shalebridge Cradle... Man that place was creepy. Of course it's not so scary the second time, not just because you know what IS there but because you know what's NOT there (which I feared leaping out at me a good long while until I figured out what was going on). Also, the Lost Cathedral in Thief 1, done by the same guy. The whole level... just... wow... Also seconding the Resident Evil remake. That point in FEAR (even in the demo) when Alma appears and you're helpless on the ladder. I half leapt out of my skin. Hopping into one of those coffin things in HL2, when you just KNOW it's going to render you helpless. My first Juggernaut in Marathon (I later took to punching them to death, just because I could - yes, I know they fly). The appearance of the final boss in Aquanox ("What in the name of the Devil is that?" CHOMP). My first efreet and Hakai in Exile 2. Getting to a new area in La Mulana and suddenly realising "There are HOW MANY of these?" That'll do. The more I put the less "most" they become. |

TF2 Anything with pyros, and hearing an enemy medic yell out, "I'm fully charged!" Half-life 2 (and all episodes) Hearing the poison headcrab's little "Rofl u r ded" screech, the when a certain character died, when you're saving Alyx and then out pops the G-Man. Warcraft III The Frozen Throne-Trying to turtle and then realizing your enemies are all ghoul-rushing. Settlers: Rise of an Empire: "A stonecutter can't find any stone!" <---that was just-kidding. Battlefield 2142-Being out in the open and then hearing a near-miss by a sniper, capturing a silo/CP and hearing the loud footsteps of a Battlewalker, being in/piloting an air transport and hearing the "Rofl u r ded" sirens blaring, signaling you've been spotted by a gunship, blowing up commander assets and then looking up to see a titan gun swivel at your face, Being in a vehicle then getting EMP striked, because you just know there's going to be a lot of explosions soon. Portal: The "end" of the test, the final boss battle. Morrowind: When you first start out and you realize that you can't kill a little worm no matter how hard you try. Every other second of Bioshock. In DOW: Dark Crusade, seeing a champion of a tiny chaos cultist squad start floating in the air, only to be smashed into the ground for the summoning of a Bloodthirster. |

Freespace 2, when you go on the secret mission in a Shivan figher in to Shivan space only to find out that they have an entire FLEET of Colossus sized destroyers. COD4 - many moments. The nuke of coarse. When dude launches 2 missiles and you see them go up. And then ending, when you think all is lost, Price slides you his gun - awesome. Ninga Gaiden 2. Killing the last boss, using every healing item to do it, only to realize you have to fight him twice. I cussed, I cried, I died. I eventually kicked his ass, but that was an oh shit moment. RE4 - seeing Sadler "transform" into that grose spiderthingy, then the oh shit goes away when you realize he is a wuss. Guitar hero 3 - the song you play during the credits. My fingers still hurt. |

Copy Clerk Posts: 56 Joined: 14 May 2008 | I usually have a more "fuck it..." attitude when gaming on Halo however not in the sense of giving up but having to do everything myself. I recall back in Halo 2 trying to get my team organized to steal the flag. I kept telling them rushing one by one was not going to work, especially since they tried that for half the bloody round and died every time. So I got fed up said "fuck it, I'll do it myself", loaded up the shotgun and snuck into the enemy base, popped two guys with SG, stole the flag, beat a third guy with it and tossed it so I could blast the final guy with the shotgun before finally scoring. ... my team then processed to brag in the lobby <.< (Until I told them to shut up as they all sucked, considering I did everything) And it baffles people why I sometimes hate humanity. |

I then go to the door to leave, and as I open the door...I hear the sound of a Chainsaw starting. I didn't have a second thought as I turned Leon around and high tailed it right back in to the house. It didn't do much cause a few minutes later a guy, chainsaw in hand and a bag over his head ran in and decapitated me... Scared the crap out of me... |
