Imperator_2:
Rome Total War and Medieval II Total War. Yeah, I got addicted to strategy games, and the summer before last, my friend and I were so into it that a day after a rough and frustrating battle with the Egyptians, we were still jabbering away about it.
Just one province more, I mutter, on my 4th hour playing as the Selucids, charging the Egyptians on the marshes of the Nile, just one more, and my Empire will be complete. Two hours passed, and I was still at it. For some reason, strategy games just click for me...

sigh.. I've had a love/hate relationship with Rome and Medieval. Particularly Medieval. I want to love those games so much. They seem like the perfect game. Almost. But then I see the AI, and I almost want to cry at how completely stupid it is. It rips me straight out of the game and has me swearing at it. Also, diplomacy is almost nonexistent.. which was a huge let down. But my god, that game is on the verge of being amazing. (Btw, yes.. I have modded the AI many times, but I never notice any real differences. I do highly recommand playing the Stainless Steel mod.) Also, the expansion pack wasn't very impressive.

With all that said, though.. I can't wait to try Empire Total War.

Oblivion and Diablo 2 were like drugs for me. I remember I was sick at one point, but not even stomach cramps stopped me from playing. I have a thing for RPGs, I suppose...

+1

Tetris Attack, the Game Boy Color version. My ex let me play it while he was doing work, and I didn't put it down, not even while I was walking around my school, looking for a printer. Teachers and staff gave me weird looks, and only the batteries dying made me stop.

Also, unfortunately, The Sims 2. It's not healthy for me, but there was a time where that was all I did. My computer's crashing effectively stopped my obsession for a little while.

Snap, I have to say that happened to me when I decided to check Tales of the Abyss out from work. I literally could not wait to get home from University to play that mofo game. It's not often that a game hooks me like that. Only two other games've done that for me, Kingdom Hearts I&II.

When i think addiction, i think Starcraft. Good games come and go, but one that keeps me playing it after almost 10 years, i call addictive.

hmm for me, Psychonauts for PC (god, i can't even remember how many sleepless nights I had with that game...)
and I'd also add now The World Ends With You and Advance Wars for NDS, cause those games are ridiculously fun and time consuming.

The World Ends With You. SERIOUSLY ADDICTING. I don't know what it was, it was just ... it grabbed me and yanked me into Shibuya and I was just scanning for noises all the time and levelling up and trying to get those disapproving clerks to like me. Then when they DO really like you, it's hilarious how ... close they are. There's so much to do and the soundtrack is just amazing. It's the only DS game I have where I ditched my mp3 player to put my buds in the DS so I could listen to the game music.

And ... I'm ashamed to say it, but Pokemon: Diamond. This is the first one I played since Red/blue, and I will not allow myself to lose a super contest. Seriously. I will keep trying and the poffins and the new accessories, and it's just horrible. XD;

Call of Duty 4 is unhealthily appealing.

Hours go by and you don't notice.
