What he said.
And this. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 62 Joined: 23 Jan 2008 | The hood-rat girl from GTA San Andreas (Denise?) who's your first girlfriend in the game. Not only does she settle for fast food, give you a pimp suit and access to her car, she also participates in drive-by shootings. Unlike the other useless bints who required me to get fat/musclebound/kinky for them and made sarcastic comments. That S&M croupier bitch got on my wick so much I drove her into a lake, then waded in with a katana to finish her off. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1561 Joined: 5 Dec 2007 | All the mentioned above are great (especially Alyx). Meche from Grim Fandango is also great. And i actualy like Trish from Devil May Cry, sure she is the very definition of oversexualised, but here is a game were exaguration and boyish fantasy isent the by product, its the main theme. So she actualy is perfectly fitting character. |

Copy Clerk Posts: 84 Joined: 16 Mar 2008 | Guy 1: " Hey, a female sub-protagonist thread! Who should I pick?" Goddamnit, she's a given by now. Corporal Hart, even though you see all of ten seconds of her before she's shot in the face. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2103 Joined: 1 Feb 2008 | Silk Fox in Jade Empire wasn't bad. Sure, she was a spoiled rich girl in a bodysuit, but she kicked ass and took no crap. And she was flexible in her romantic interests, which was a plus for me. |

Sorry? How about Bastilla from KotOR then? |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 4045 Joined: 26 Feb 2008 |
Littkle miss drive-by ended up getting herself whacked when she made me fire my gun out her window, and I ended up rear-ending someone, and her face got filled with my hot lead... Yes, I had a car accident and killed Denise by shooting her in the face with my Mac-10! ON ACCIDENT! |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2244 Joined: 4 Nov 2007 | Am I the first to see that the thread topic doesn't necessarily exclude men? Because my first play through I romanced Kaidan. We didn't get to the jiggly though; I saved Ashley. Broke my heart. |
Muckraker Posts: 272 Joined: 6 Mar 2008 | Sheena from Tales of Symphonia? I liked her. Kikyou? well...she's in some games so she counts. Much MUCH better than that annoying monstrousity known as Kagome. |

Hey two trees... *Giggle Lol jks. But I do have to say that Cortana, Alyx Vance (I agree she is a given, but wtv), and Lucy from Assassins Creed are good ones. |

Other than "Why not Annah-of-the-Shadows?"
Gaaah! Bastila would be the first off the bridge. Such a stuck up spoilt cow, so full of herself for no real good reason, takes about five minutes to skip merrily off to the Dark Side, jumps in front of my lightsaber when I was halfway through giving Malak a lesson in arsekicking. She's worse than Aribeth. Most Annoying Pretend Woman Ever. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 429 Joined: 17 Oct 2007 | Oh Samus Aran, under all that armor she wants a pasty little geek like me, I just know it...one day, she will be mine. I swear it! I...eh... Well, there's Annah and Fall-From-Grace in Planescape, as mentioned. There's Alyx Vance of course, but she's as clear a mention as Master Chief is in "Big buff generic space marine guy" threads. It's like, the first character to jump to everyone's minds. GLaDOS, and her psycho lesbian stalker crush on Chell, deserves a good mention. |

Ah, but that husky english accent. That snug jedi catsuit. That prim, proper exterior, under which you know hides a wild, fun-loving party animal. And she can kick seven different types of arse with a lightsaber. |
Paperboy Posts: 30 Joined: 2 Apr 2008 | Well lets see female sidekicks... I uhhh I must be missing lots of good titles to find a good one... Peach in Super Mario RPG? She is handy as hell in bosses. Dear lord, I must expand my horizonts. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1475 Joined: 12 Oct 2007 | Mituru Kirijo Persona 3. The second most powerful character in the game next to myself. Also she is not nearly as annoying a Yukari. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 7334 Joined: 28 Nov 2007 | Probably Ashley Williams for me. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 63 Joined: 7 Mar 2008 | This probably doesn't count but how about Kerrigan from Starcraft? (thats before she became the queen of blades and discovered killing could be as addicting as cocaine) |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 563 Joined: 29 Jan 2008 | I must agree with many posted already. Samus Aran is a definite one for me. Even though she's a protagonist, and not a sidekick, she's just so awesome that she wins anyways. Chalk another point up for Ashley Williams. Do you think the President would mind if she's home a week late. So many things that you can do on a sea-doo :P But I definitely have to go with the women of Time Splitters: Future Perfect, especially Jo Beth Casey. Have you seen her outfit?!?! In closing, I provide visual proof. NWS Jo Beth Casey http://timesplitters.planets.gamespy.com/g/wall/jo_800.jpg NWS Samus Aran http://www.anonib.com/motivachan/images/47/samus_anonib.jpg |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 946 Joined: 26 Mar 2008 | Don't know if she counts as a side-kick but Blaze Fielding from Streets of Rage gets my vote. Anyone who can beat the snot out of guys twice her size in a mini-skirt and heels is alright by me. Bastilla, Ashley and Alyx are also very obvious choices. Liara T'soni is alright in a naive sort of way. Plus her biotic powers when fully amped up kick a lot of arse. |

What English accent's that then? Certainly not one I've ever heard, and I live here. Also, she's probably allergic to fun. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1262 Joined: 6 Mar 2008 | uh, the female singer from Guitar Hero? |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2103 Joined: 1 Feb 2008 |
I'm not sure if I want to date her, be her, or just borrow her clothes. I love a good pair of combat boots. EDIT: Many years ago, I actually had an outfit rather like that. Can't carry it off now. I also used to date a girl rather like that. Can't carry that off now either. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1235 Joined: 8 Apr 2008 | Can't have this thread without the heroine from Dark Cloud 2, who kicked so much more ass than the hero. |
Muckraker Posts: 226 Joined: 16 Nov 2007 | Chalk more points up for Samus Aran and Silk Fox. I'd throw off Dawn Star in a heartbeat. Speaking of which... I love me some Amoretta from GrimGrimoire and Rosalin from Disgaea 2. |

The over-sexualized female side-kicks and love interests have a long history of getting sap all over my nice clean action games.
Which female side-kick characters have you not wanted to throw off a bridge and why?
