Anonymous Source Posts: 6 Joined: 14 Apr 2008 | are we talking realistic blood and gore, or cartoony violence (no more heroes). i would put god of war up there for the quicktime killage. i remember the awesomeness that was killing the hydra. id give a mention to metal gear for the realistic voilence. i cant count how many throats i've slit just for fun. oh, and dont forget grey fox's massacre in the first game (or twin snakes). |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 2253 Joined: 21 Jan 2008 | Either GTA of GeOW. Though I'd probably saw Gears was better, simply 'cos I'm a sucker for chainsaw bayonets. That or GOW. Even with the graphics it's quite bloody. Good games though. - A procrastinator Edit: Didn't we already have a thread 'bout this? |

Red Guard Posts: 1368 Joined: 16 Dec 2007 | In the Guiness book of world records in the 80's I remember seeing that the most violent movie was called "red dawn." It was determined that "violence per minute" was the way to judge how violent a movie was rather than how gory the violence was. If I apply that here, I am going to have to say that Mario is a hell of a violent game when compared to something like Gears of war and GTA where you can go for minutes without killing anything. You can't go 5 feet in the Mario series without killing a Koopa or his minions. Something to think about at least. |

Mario: Heroic plumber or sinister mass murderer? |
Paperboy Posts: 45 Joined: 18 Jan 2008 | WOLVERINES!!! Aw, Red Dawn, that was actually a really good movie and i liked the game that was loosely based on it...*quick google search* Freedom Fighters. Anyway i'd have to say Manhunt, or manhunt 2 for psp where you could download the patch to get rid of the "blur" effect. |

props to carmageddon! for the purposeful aiming @ peds probably the punisher for me, because of the flashbacks the violence became necessary >:) |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 695 Joined: 10 Nov 2007 | Condemned 2 is getting up there. Most of the violence in it is good old homely "realistic" violence, relatively common objects, and reasonably realistic consequences to, for example, smashing someone face first into a glass display cabinet. |

Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 728 Joined: 9 Jan 2008 | Postal 2 or Soldier of fortune. Although I see both of those games today and look on them with pitty. There graphics, weak and gameplay hitched. They have had their day. |
Paperboy Posts: 32 Joined: 20 Mar 2008 | Most violent? Hmm... Probably Unreal Tournament and its sequels. Nothing quite like the Flak Cannon. No More Heroes/Killer 7 were pretty violent as well, despite the whole shower-of-red-dots thing. Also in terms of sheer volume, Diablo 2 was pretty high on the list... |

I remember an absolutey hilarious game of conkers me and me dad played when I was a nipper. We were lucky enough to have a load of conker trees in our garden, and he'd managed to find himself the biggest, knuckliest chestnut you can imagine. We played the game, and my conker gradually got more and more fractured. Finally, dad readies for his final swing and puts all his effort into it. He absolutely obliterates my chestnut, but unluckily for him, his keeps on swinging and, well...dad's conker collided with his 'conkers', so to speak. I still laugh at the memory of him hopping around the garden, his voice gone all squeaky. Anyways, I haven't played too many 'violent' video-games, violent here meaning lots of blood and guts. Of the ones I have played, I'd put Ninja Gaiden as the most brutal.Enemies literally explode blood when you kill them. |
