mine would have to be on CoD 4, sniping Imran Zakhaev. I fire, i miss. i fire again, i hit a soldier near a car. i fire again........and hit Zakhaev just as he is about to go completely behind his jeep and so i knock him to the floor.
i was so excited after that i failed to remember to get out of the building, thus i got blown up....

Many moments playing Geometry Wars and Smash TV

Counter Strike: Source, on Italy. I was outside the building with hostages by the boxes, snipeing a few defenders down the alley, hopeing to leave before the defenders in the house realize i'm there. I see a flashbang detonate a few feet away in my field of vision. I whirl around at what I hope is the window where it came, realize im going to be dead long before I can remotely see, and have 1 shot with the bolt action. I fire for the heck of it. Few seconds later, my vision clears, im alive, and theres no one in the window. I look up and to the right, and see a headshot. Shorly later, he asks, "I thought I flashed you" "Well...you did".

I also remember when I was still very bad at Starcraft, and I had to survive a Zerg invasion for some amount of time, and I was down to a single building unit running away from some zerglings, at 1/4 health. Time ran out just then. I was so increadibly relieved.

Oh, and plenty of Soul Calibur games where an opponent knocks me up and off a ledge, and immediately falls to there doom just barely in front of me. So cheap.

A classic moment in halo matchmaking for me. i was in a corridoor being chased by almost the hole other team. At hat moment i thaught that i was screwed so as i turned roud to fight for my life i see someone on my team come round with the corner with a rocket launcher and blew them all up and i smiled.

I've managed to steal the flag from the Intelligence Room and made it all the way back.In the end, I had about 4hp left.

Beating Sephiroth in KH2. Well, technically, I did it twice. The first time I got all his 3000 hp down, but the screen didn't slow down as it would to alert you the fight is over, so I dropped my controller in glee.

Sephiroth then proceeded to kill me with one shot, the cheating bastard. But I beat him the next time! (okay .. like 10 tries later. I still did it and it was lucky lucky lucky.)

Umm .. next is beating Ultimecia in FF8 with just Squall (everyone else got sucked into time, oops.) and his HP was constantly at 1 thanks to Hell's Gate. I would use the Recover command, she'd use Hell's Gate and so I'd just spam Renzokuken. (Oh. I was also level 100. Made things MUCH HARDER.) But I still won! :D

Half-life 2 multiplayer. I'm in a really tight stairway. And reloading. A guy shows up with a rocket launcher and fires up at me. I jump, and jump forward off of the rocket (or so it sure seemed to me), finish reloading mid-air and waste him.
The lucky part, of course, being jumping over a rocket close enough that to him, he told me, it looked like it clipped through my leg.

In Halo:Combat evolved, I managed to stick a FRAG GREANADE not plasma (Amazing?) to another player. (The method is simple. Just jam it into the other player's collision modol).

You're a master assassin and can pull off all sorts of crazy stunts. Yet, for some reason, you cannot swim. >:(

FINALLY killing emerald weapon in ff7, (i downed him before ruby and didnt have all the cheesy summons everyone else used to kill him)

and throwing a sticky grenade in halo 3 onto the wing of a banshee my friend was in.... pwned

Ah, lucky moments. The spice of gaming life.

I think one of my favourite lucky moments comes from way back in the Red Faction (1, as two was a pile of steaming you-know-what) and I was in a deathmatch with my little brother. We had only jsut gotten the game and were still gleefully amused by the geomod, so I was standing in a room firing rockets at the roof (as you do) and they shot up through a window... or a skylight or something. Anyway, at about that moment my brother came haring into the room brandishing a heavy machine gun and proceeded to feed me lead; I fled the room, having no ammo. He followed me, moments after gravity caught up to my rockets. As he passed underneath the window they came dropping straight back down and landed flat on him.

Good times.

Luckiest moment ever was in UT2004? I was playing in that map with the 2 big giant towers and I had just fired off the Redeemer and I actually somehow landed a headshot with it on the NPC XD

Jak 3; taking out the final boss w/o the Super Size Power Up, just ran around shooting the crap outta the damn queen.

Ragnarok Online; freezing an assassin 30 levels higher than me, than one-shotting him with a spell.

UT2007; headshot w/ AVRIL (which is an anti-vehicle weapon)

EVE Online; coming across another player who didn't understand how to re-call his drones into his ship and thus claiming 8 of his as my own :)

I had a friend over and was showing off the Crysis demo (he was all giddy about Crysis though his PC couldn't run it...like almost every PC) and I was faux-bragging about how awesome I was at this game. (with FPS's I generally suck more than a thirty year old prostitute with a black hole in the back of her throat)

We were standing at the beach where you shut down the radar jammer, and he told me that if I were so awesome, I could take out that gunboat firing at us, no problem. So I turned to the water, fired a single shot at it with my pistol and watched as the gunner slumped dead over his gun.

We both stared at the screen for a bit, until I softly said "So uh, that's how it's done." and we both burst out laughing. Never a better moment to get a headshot.

I don't normally do online shooters, but was invited to play counter strike source with friends so went along with it. On office map I acheived 4 kills with one sniper round. I lined up a shot at 2 guys standing in a line and just as I was pressing the fire button, another ran from behind a filing cabinet and another came up the ladder in the background. Imagine my surprise at being shit at the game but being congratulated by everyone on the server. Hooray for beginners luck.

I killed all 4 members of the other team with a single grenade on Gears of War once. I noticed they were all fighting over the torque bow at the start of every round so I sprinted over to it one round and threw a nade over at it, and they all ran right on top of it just as it blew.

Assassins Creed. I got separated from my target but thankfully when the streets joined up I rammed straight into his side and got my hidden knife in his neck.

As for me I was playing Halo 2 multi-player with my brothers in foundation. One of them had a rocket launcher and we were running at each other on the walkway around the edge. He shot a rocket and I tossed a grenade at the same time, the rocket hit the grenade in mid air and blew up. Giving me cover from the explosion to toss another granade and shoot as fast as I could in his general direction. I got the kill and he couldn't figure out how I did it.

Definately a moment in halo3 matchmaking. I was in the broken open small missile bunker in the middle of High Ground, and i randomly threw a spike grenade out of the slit windows. It flew all the way down the map into the shallows of the sea, and stuck the guy that was carrying the bomb, so i got 'killed the bomb carrier' and 'stick' medals and i was like SERIOUSLY WTF??!!1.

My luckiest shot ever was in X-Com.

It was a terrorize map, and I mostly had everything under control, when I spotted a snake alien going into a building. Since chasing him in there would generally mean death, I took aim at random outside the building with a three-shot burst. I had no idea where the alien was, my goal was simply to destroy the wall of the building and remove his cover.

So the first shot hits a fence and destroys it. The second shot goes in the same direction (those burst shots were quite inaccurate, so this alone was amazing) and breaks the wall, the third shot goes in the same direction as the first two and hits the alien, killing it.

Totally random shot in the dark. Here's hoping irrational does X-com justice.

beating Casltevania 1 on the NES. Was never able to do it again.

Red Alert A Path Beyond(it's free http://www.apathbeyond.com/ =) snuck with a shock trooper up into the Allied War Factory to see 2 demo trucks killing them blowing up most of the base.

Halo 3 - Snowbound.

Theres some dude in the ghost near the shotty shield, I lobbed a sticky from the splazer base, it skids along the Brute-shot roof, plops off, and lands right on his wing.

Then I realise, I've left a sniper IFV in some bushes, forgotten about it, and she's wandered into his range. I went on to win too.

well my best would have to be chrono trigger, maybe ten years ago. I'm facing oneof the early but broken bosses IMO, The first Magus encounter. he had killed off Crono, and Lucca, frog was left with complete jack shit for health and maybe twenty mana left.

I get off one spell and of cource that stupid changing spell resit thing he does. anyway he hits me with one of his doom attacks that are too strong, and wipes me down to one health, and changes his spell weakness to water, and I amable to barely beat him with frogs crap water attack.

Pokemon Red. Having wasted my Super Uber Mega Ball (or whatever the best one was called) I found myself having to try and capture mewtwo with regular pokeballs. The only way you can do this is by getting him down to one hp. Which is pretty tough, considering that not only does he have healing powers but get it wrong and you kill him. I used up about 30 ultra balls trying to do this.

Having tried this for hours I was getting fed up and decided to just blast him when I went in. Used my strongest pokemon, I hit him, get his health down to about 10, and he got poisoned. His health dropped to one and I got him.

And all the kids at school told me it was impossible :)

fire emblem radiant dawn just this week

tibarn couldnt take another hit and comp had 1 more unit to attack with - a wind mage to make things worse. i had as 1% chance of avoiding the attack and i fucking did as well lol

COD4 on veteran, theres a bit of "The hunted" level that is a pisstake

i was dead far on the hardest bit of the game and i got into the barn and there was an enemy who killed me and a split second before i died, CHECKPOINT!

My luckiest moment would most likely be in COD4, Mile High Club on Veteran. It took about 2 days, but the thing was, if I ever made it to the hostage situation, I'd end up shooting the hostage. So, with all my luck, I'd managed to hold back my trigger, and not shoot the guy once. That was great, finishing it.

Oh, and getting a 10x Killing Spree (forgot it's name) in Halo 3 online.

i did the same in AC only with the guy who was supervising the book burnings around town, i climb up a wall, jump over to the next building, and makes a leap for it aiming for the closest guard planning to do an air to land assassination, what i didnt know was that was my target, he looked kinda like the guards, i was kinda happy after that :)

Pretty much most of my lucky moments were those "Ultra Hard Bosses that got you at 1 HP and Paralyzed so they get an extra turn but for some reason, they miss and you are free to heal yourself and get back into the fight" in RPG games.

Sadly, 'tis one of those things I know I have better moments but just can't recollect them.

new luckiest moment: 24 peeps on 2Fort, me as a sniper. Sitting on the battlements being a generally unlikable fuckbend, something suddenly rocketjumps onto the battlements. i get spooked, fire a shot and find a dead demoman lying next to me.

I played a game of CoD 4 where I in sheer random panic threw a grenade in the general direction of the enemy... it flew through an open window into a small building and got me 6 kills at once. Apparently they'd been building a camp in there...

Also, a few times in the Total War games when the enemy general was incinerated at the very beginning of a battle by a fiery catapult projectile. Mind you, I once had my own general placed right in front of a catapult which misfired straight at the ground in front of it... My general died and minutes later half my army was in full flight
