There are many memorable quotes in gaming. I was wondering which quotes people remember.

Glados... though I may be biased seeing as though that's the only game of the above that I've played to completion...

"Please note that we have added a consequence for failure. Any contact with the chamber floor will result in an unsatisfactory mark on your official testing record, followed by death. Good luck." GLAdOS

"We all make choices, but in the end, our choices make us" - Andrew Ryan, Bioshock

"A man chooses, a slave obeys! A man chooses ... a slave obeys! OBEY!" - Andrew Ryan, Bioshock

"Would you Kindly?" - Frank Fontaine, Bioshock

"Do you still say there's nothing to chaos theory?" - Black Mesa Scientist, Half Life

"You've been wrong about every single thing you've ever done, including this thing. You're not smart. You're not a scientist. You're not a doctor. You're not even a full time employee. Where did your life go so wrong?" - GlaDOS, Portal

"Right, what the hell kind of name is 'Soap', eh? How'd a muppet like you pass selection?" - the Captain guy at the start of CoD4

The only other CoD quote that stands out is where you have to snipe the Russian guy and a helicopter flies across in the way and Cpt. McMillan says something like "Ach! Where'd he come from?!!" in a thick Scottish accent ... that was pant-wettingly funny first time around for some reason

Oh, in COD4, you can't forget MacMillian's "Oi, Susy!", in that thick Scottish accent. That's pure awesomeness.

I voted for Andrew Ryan, simply because I'm a sucker for the speech he gave at the end of the tutorial. That, and "A man chooses, a slave obeys" quote. Though GLADOS comes a close second.

In some respects that's a good thing. I doubt that you could have thought up eight options that would have everyone happy.

In Silent Hill 3 when Vincent is talking about Heather snuffing out "their lives", Heather asks him if he means the monsters and Vincent's reply is: "Monsters...? They look like monsters to you?"

The Silent Hill series really knows how to do a mind fuck.

"Rise and shine, Mr. Freeman, rise and shine. Not that I wish to imply that you have been sleeping on the job, no one is more deserving of a rest and all the effort in the world would have gone to waste, until..........well, lets just say your hour has come again. The right man in the wrong place can make all the diff.fernce in the world. So, wake up Mr. Freeman, wake up and smell the ashes." -Gman, Half-Life 2

"Did you know you can donate one or all of your major organs to the Aperature Science Self-Esteem Fund for Girls? It's true!"

"The Enrichement Center wishes to remind you that the Weighted Companion Cube will never threaten to stab you, and in fact, cannot speak........In the even that the Companion Cube does speak, the Enrichement Center urges you to disregard its advice."

You are wrong, so very wrong. What about "I like to keep this for close encounters." From Gaz or "Is he takin' a piss?" from Gaz? Or, after the credits, this beautiful bit of dialouge.

"We're going deep and we're going hard."
"Surely you've got to be joking."
"I'm not joking. And don't call me Shirley."

Also, Colton, I've got to ask, how LONG ago did you get Portal? because if it was like last year or a few months ago and this is still your favorite quotable game, then cool. But if you've just got it, where the hell have you been hiding? Under a rock? There is absolutely NO excuse for getting Portal this late after release.

im only posting this because im anal, and its one of the funniest movies ever made, but that quote actually came from a movie called airplane with leslie nielsen. since then that same line has been used in hundreds of movies, books, commericals, tv shows, games, etc. but great quote none the less.

*puts hand up meekly* Still not got it...

Problem is a lot of the good lines are ripped off. Duke Nukem is almost purely a mash of War/Alien Films. But for sheer weight of quotable lines, it has to be War/StarCraft.

You could do a whole poll purely on one of them.

Everythin Macmillian says in his thick scottish accent.

Gaz "Wow you guys actually came back for me"
Price "Yeah well your ass had all the C4"

"ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US." I can't believe noone said that\

Anything that comes out of Minc's mouth in Bauldurs Gate II
"Go for the eyes Boo, go for the eyes!"
"swords not words"

GLaDoS is the best out of all characters.
"At the Enrichment Center we believe that a highly motivated test subject can complete the most complex tasks while enduring the most intense pain, so incase you dont make it through the testing, goodbye"

I know they ripped that off. It's an example of a work referenced in another work. Look, in 30 years, there'll be movies with a line "Are you takin' a piss?" over a radio relay in a completely unrelated movie to war and the creators of said movie will have loved Call of Duty 4.

@root_of_evil: Steam, it's for 20 bucks.
Best Buy, it's for $20 in disc form.
Go. Buy. Now. I don't care if it's midnight. Go get it.

"Beam down the redshirt"- AIGFW- some dude in a game made by yahtzee

"hu hu hu hu hu ha" by swords, then "SILENCE!" by dante on the final move of a combo- Devil My cry 3: Dantes awakening

Raz: "My name"
Coach Oleander: "starts with a D"
Raz: "is Razputin"

Sorry, but that's Griggs they save (remember, he get separated, and the whole first half of Ultimatum is to find him). Yes, he is the stereotypical black guy, with the C4, LMG and who raps at the end.

Oh, and Kukakkau, your accent is awesome (I don't care if its stereotypical, it's still awesome)

Sorry if we were supposed to stick with later releases for quotes, but what the hell, some of these are great!
- "No, we're not mercenaries. We just carry weapons and kill things for the joy of the experience."
- "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, watch it! I'm huge!"
- "We're a horde of rampaging Tarrasques! Krie! Krie!"
Fallout is probably another good source of writers' tom-foolery.

I've voting for the Orange Box as a general whole. Half-Life 2, episode 1 and episode 2 had some funny bits (Magnusson: "I might just forgive you for that debacle at Black Mesa. You know the one I mean, involving a certain microwave casserole." and just about everything Barney says, namely "It's your pet, the freaking HEAD-HUMPER!!!")

GlaDOS is just an evil computer lady who says useless crap that's funny and aggravating. And the characters in Team Fortress 2 is just cool (Demoman: "Didn't you see the blood bombs?!" *thick scottish accent*)

Jak: Where would you be without me, eh Dax?
Daxter: Well, I probably wouldn't be running around in a dark sewer knee-deep in mud without any pants! God, I miss pants.
