Paperboy Posts: 33 Joined: 20 Feb 2008 | Dealin Burgers: "Silent Hill 1&2" and Seldon2639: "MGS" i couldn't agree more. I never got to finish the beloved Torment cause of an in-game glitch. then again i think the blind witchnurse found the thing i need to give to Pharod, in my gut. Here's one for you die-hard classic to modern video gamers. Star Wars: Rebel Assault. first game i ever played, when i was 8. Shooting up stormtroopers, gliding through trees, then flying into a station and blowin' it up from the inside out (idk, the death star?) It was the perfect remedy for my 8 year old mind and obsession of star wars. You all named some very sweet games that are in my massive collection and I do enjoy them a lot. I think i've played all the games i want before i die. So if you're reading this God, take me if you will. but there will always be another game i'll desperately need to play. |

Definitely Planescape: Torment. As Mnemophage said, you can forgive some shoddy mechanics for pretty much everything else the game offers. Not only is every tiny character feel like a unique entity and practically every bit of the story is unforgetable, but it's one of the few RPGs I can call to mind that really allow for an alternative to hack-n-slash at nearly every turn and where you really do have a wide-array of options instead of the goody-two-shoes solution or the indescriminantly evil solution. If you haven't played it yet, get on that. |

That game was a joy from beginning to end and it's a shame that nobody bought or played it. I mean you can play as a four-armed dog wielding four chainguns at once. What's not to like? Plus the original MDK introduced the Gaming world to the joys of sniping, which should never be forgotten. Oooh, everyone needs to play at least one of the Advance Wars games too. |

Just recently got it working on my PC and am playing it again for the first time in god knows how long. Team Fortress 2 deserves a mention. And if you like team gameplay like that, might as well give Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory a try. It's free. Hum.. All the other games I was going to mention have already been said. |
Paperboy Posts: 17 Joined: 27 Feb 2008 | Tony Hawk 2 and Tony Hawk Underground, two best games of that series. Also I would say ALL the MGS series not just the first one, though I respect those who disagree. And I don't think anyone has mentioned God of War yet. |

Paperboy Posts: 15 Joined: 11 Jan 2008 | I'll mention games that have not yet been mentioned and are kinda old: Sid Mier's Alpha Centauri (How did you guys miss this, PCGamer gave it a 98% score, tied with half-life 2's score) Ascendancy (this actually works without a DOSbox, amazing) Super Mario 64 (duh) The Longest Journey (perhaps THE best traditional point-click adventure game) Guild Wars (k fine it's not an old game, but this is good for anti-WoW ppl, in my view alot of the things you thought were missing or wanted in WoW can be found in Guild Wars (goes vice-versa too unfortunately). |

Paperboy Posts: 31 Joined: 5 Mar 2008 | Just posting a list is no fun, guys. You should talk about why the games you're talking about are great. Starsiege: Tribes and Tribes 2 are what games like Halo and Team Fortress 2 dream of being. They've got better vehicles than Halo, better classes than TF2, and are, in fact, superior in every single way except maybe graphics to every other tactical FPS ever released. (Tribes: Vengeance does not exist. It never happened. Shush) Also, Total Annihilation. Make sure you add in the 5k unit cap mod. Massive swarms of everything, laying waste to your enemies! Muahaha! (I haven't actually played SupCom, but I'm pretty sure my computer wouldn't be able to handle 5k units with today's graphics). |

I have that and thought it was meh at best. A true example of how well metal bands can sell out. It had some Iron Maiden playing on loop the whole game though so I have to give 5 stars :). |

How about Descent?
I've been playing this game again lately and finding it still fun and equally difficult to get the controls down again.
3 will never be as good as 1 & 2, but that shouldn't keep someone from playing Descent and having some fun with the six degrees of movement in that game.
