Gone Gonzo Posts: 2579 Joined: 21 Jan 2008 | I've only really played Halo 3 online and a little bit of GeOW online. The best was a Shotty Snipers match on Valhala. One teammate down, the 2 other guys on my team, and I, held our ground in the middle of the map, and end up winning. Worst was again in Halo, where this bastard team-killed all of the team. - A procrastinator |

Him and I have played together so long that we no longer have to communicate when playing. We just understand each other's movements and actions. The worst game is pretty much any game when I don't play with him. No one understands what co-op means. -.-' people just drive me mad sometimes. ^_^ |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 3235 Joined: 24 Apr 2008 | Any WoW battleground, there's always someone convinced his theory on "WYNNIN" is the best and "What is this, amateur hour?" because he cant get anyone to follow his doctrine apart from that, i usually play solo, i hat Co-op in that some damn fool is trying to synchronize movements with you, its a primarily single player FPS, so why are we suddenly a team? be 2 forces of awesomeness, don't try and hug me like your mother, blow shit up! [/hate] |
Muckraker Posts: 256 Joined: 24 Feb 2008 | On one game of Halo 3 on sandtrap, we had some people randomly start insulting me and another teamate. So everyone else on our team suddenly opens up on the flamers and start yelling at them until they leave. Now we're losing pretty bad, but then we started working risking their (spartan's) lives to protect injured comrades. The whole time we were socializing about everything, and then we won the match with a few seconds left. It was so awesome, and everyone started adding each other as friends. After that, we played in the same playlist for and hour or two more and it was great. The worst games are obviously on CoD4...too many to count...teamates killing comrades on hardcore, idiots screaming at people, calling them random names and making fun of their mothers, an entire team camping, starting a game outnumbered and losing but when you get more teamates you start doing better so the enemy host quits the game just to piss people off. |

In halo 3 I always seem to get partnered up with the most stupid people. You would think they would stop trying to kill me when I tell them that Friendly Fire is off but no... |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 3235 Joined: 24 Apr 2008 | Best ever teammate? to be honest.. ME i grabbed a freinds computer, fired up DoW and proceeded to beat other 2v2 teams 7-0 before i quit from a headache. i had such a connection with myself! i did everything i wanted, it was like we had become one, when i attacked, i backed me up, when i was in trouble, i went unthinkingly to my defense, i was awesome... we stay in touch to this day... and to be honest, i think i could turn for the spunk. |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 628 Joined: 27 Mar 2008 | Best? Hmm, I think it is everytime I go on my favorite server. Worst? When TK'ing got turned on in the same server, how could I know that the whole team would go apeshit on me? |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1363 Joined: 3 Apr 2008 | Best: my best mate john, me and him work like the best team ever whenever we play on battlefield vietnam together. its like army of two just more old Worst: the players at my local internet cafe- counter strike i was wupping everyones ass some guy wlked up and told me to go easy, i did then they all started flaming me because i was pussying out, they then started team killing me because of a few misplaced grenades and when i got up to leave someone had stolen my bike....... sad sad day |
Paperboy Posts: 35 Joined: 2 Apr 2008 | In my days of [shame] WoW [/shame] my best team mate was probably my girlfriend, sitting next to the person you're working in the arena with is a big bonus and we kickethed much arse. The worst... My friend Adam, whilst he's a good chum he tends to make fatal erros on C&C3. For example, we're double-teaming a Brutal Scrin Turtle and he decides to start weaving a section of his base into one of my outlying sections. To most this seems like a smart idea, double yourselves up and all that. Wrong. Once we're notified that a Scrin Mothership has been brought into the fray, I frantically try to relocate the section of my base he's worked into mine. When the mothership attacks something it starts a chain-reaction, meaning any nearby structures will also be destroyed, and anything too close to them is destroyed and so on and so forth. The frickin' mothership attacked the far side of his base, and it spread all the way to mine. Worst match ever. Edit: replaced "game" with "match", didn't want someone thining I hate C&C3! |

Oh, sorry, you were still using that? jk. That sucks. Currently, the worst Counter-Strike expierience is everyone using radio to say Fire in the Hole. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 101 Joined: 14 Apr 2008 | Best and worst... Best: I was playing Warsong Gulch, a capture-the-flag scenario with two teams of ten. Five people from a guild were all at the max level for that particular level bracket when they signed up to join a battleground, but each levelled up before the next one became available. So I was in a group where half of us were stronger than every other player on the battleground. They all knew each other too, and were extremely good strategists. Worst: Seven of my group of ten were at level 35-36 when most of the enemy were level 39. Everybody was disorganised and everybody was scolding each other. I chose to defend our flag because nobody else would; and I was accused of being lazy and not going out to help the team. Um.... wha? |

Yeah I do get in dem holes. (take that as you will) I don't like matchmaking in Multiplayer games. They usually partner me up with idiots that I hate! |
Beat Writer Posts: 158 Joined: 4 Feb 2008 | There have been many good and many bad... The worst teammate of late was this guy on TFT in 3v3 who told the rest of the team that he wouldn't build any units, just send his gold to the rest of us. That is a really sucky strategy, but we (me and my other teammate)couldn't convince him to do something else so we just played and tried to make the best out of it. When we inevitably lost he went berserk and started saying we were noobs etc. |
Beat Writer Posts: 136 Joined: 16 Mar 2008 | I was playing Call of Duty 4, in Bloc. Now, the point of Bloc is to get into the buildings as fast as possible, then either snipe or sweep around and run through the enemy's building. But no. My entire team jump camps at the spawn point, sniping. A duo of stealth people from the other side come over through our building and begin to destroy us. I'm the only one trying to take them down (and I'm doing a pretty good job of it, two-against-one) but my team stays put and gets slaughtered, despite my shouts telling them that there was a guy with a MP5 and a guy with a M1014 in the building next to us. Don't camp for the the entire game in COD4! Gah! If the entire team camps, the other team gains ground, and we lose spawn points and end up spawing in the same place over and over! And God forbid the enemy calls in an airstrike... |

Press Junketeer Posts: 473 Joined: 22 Apr 2008 | Most of my multiplayer games are with close friends, and we support each other very well, so I can't think of a best one at the moment except for every time we play on the same team. Worst would have to be the first time I played Gears of War, which I had been convinced to play by and with a friend. After a couple matches someone we were playing with teamkilled every single member of our team and then stepped in front of a train. There was one more match on that server where every member of our team was killing each other because we couldn't remember the screenname of the traitor, and then we decided that there were better ways to waste our time and left. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1096 Joined: 9 Dec 2007 | Best: Leading World PVP raids on WoW. Immense; having 40-60 people running behind you, your lieutenants screaming out for people to follow orders, and then the moment utter chaos takes over as soon as the Horde come into sight and I set about causing as much devastation as possible, despite me only being armed with 0.5 tier gear and The Unstoppable Force, thanks to a dedicated team of healers who are doing as much damage to others as they are healing the other 6 or 7 squads in a sane sort of confusion. It really is the best form of bonding. PIX ON FLICKR! Until... Worst: Raiding on WoW. As in, instances. My guild - and the ones we allied with - all sucked because we were all used to charging at enemies who would charge right back, not gain uber-special abilities at 50%, summon a million more enemies at 25% and heal back to full at 10%. |
Paperboy Posts: 36 Joined: 22 Mar 2008 | Some of the finest battles Planetside has ever seen along with the good crew TDC, the Terran Death Company of Emerald. Worst? Let me lay that at the feet of Firewolf of the Khans, or my old friend Emperor, both of whom managed to get me violently lynched in the glory days of Neocron by living up to the legendary stupidity of the GenTank class and failing to arrive at a scheduled ambush, leaving me all dramatic talk and no backup. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1534 Joined: 7 Mar 2008 | hmmm lots of bad teammates, healers and tanks are a problem, most think they're good at either job but they aren't i've had tanks that well don't tank, they take the easiest enemy out and let other ppl take on the big things or they aren't paying attention to what they're doing i've been tanking and had healers heal up the mage the other other ppl and let me die and then get pissed off cause they party is then wiped. i've had ppl say my theories don't work and is garbage, when tried they work like a charm but i'm still wrong about how to go about things. don't even get my started on fps games and ppl not knowing their rolls in that game |
Beat Writer Posts: 180 Joined: 12 Apr 2008 | I never really have bad team mates, partially because I surround myself with talented people and partially because they surround themselves with talented people. However, I must say that there was one specific time when my opposition was terrible. It was even worse because a friend of mine, who was playing on their team due to it being a random team game, was banned from the IRC channel we frequented because he didn't want to put up with being TK'd for 30 minutes. It's incredibly silly how stupid some people can be. |
Paperboy Posts: 39 Joined: 1 Mar 2008 | I refuse to play on my own on Vegas 2, it's just so bad. No one covers you if you're the team leader as they think they're the ultimate force so rush in and get mullered leaving me on my own, seriously, if you're ever going to play Vegas 2, play it with friends as you'll be hating every minute of it on your own. However theres a group of 5 of us who play together on Vegas 2, i think our biggest win streak was around 60 something, if you have a well thought out team who know how to protect eachother and focus on the game in hand, not a crappy weapon achievement then you're unstoppable. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2331 Joined: 10 Mar 2008 | Just recently i was playing CoD4 on Search and Destroy. My team (including myself) went in there and killed every enemy member with minimal deaths. When we had the bomb, we ran to the bomb planting zone, planted the bomb, and we were just awesome. No mouthers on the other team either, they just said "Good GAme" every other game where we lost a maximum of 500 points: 750 points is my worst team members. |
Paperboy Posts: 25 Joined: 7 Feb 2008 | Halo was a bummer for me. I only occasionally played with my real world friends but when I did, I suddenly remembered why I tried to avoid them. I got it all, plasma grenades on my back, sniper headshots, bitchslaps and all from my own team! I would be worried that they didn't like me if it weren't for the fact they always did the same things to each other. The worst is one of my friends who would always try to get his hands on the banshee. The problem was that mid-flight, he would completely forget whether he had inverted the y-axis and would usually land or shoot on one of us. When he did, he would always blame the game for inverting mid-game. Thank Samus he never got an 360. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 94 Joined: 22 Feb 2008 | Best: A couple of guys from the States. We met in Rock Band, played for a couple hours, with me as the vocalist. Then we all switched over to GeOW and had a damn blast. We've done this three times now. Best online gaming experience on the 360 yet. Worst:Halo 3. Valhalla. Big Team CTF. Holy fuckcakes. Within the first minute, some doofus who was guesting on someone else decides that we would all make great Wraith target practice. I didn't get killed, but I did start ignoring him. We won the match. I now loathe Big Team matches however. Seriously, there is always at least five guests in the match, and they always either suck, pwn everyone, or leave before the end of the game. Le sigh. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 103 Joined: 27 Apr 2008 | Best: Halo 3, Relic. It was VIP, both sides 1 kill from victory, and we were carrying our VIP around in a Warthog while the rest of us camped the Spartan Lasers (except me, I was in the Banshee). One of their lot scores a lucky grenade and flips the warthog, leaving our VIP+driver and gunner pinned by three of them and their VIP. Worst: There's no one game I could say was the worst, so I'll just give a list of some of the worst people in Halo 3. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 429 Joined: 17 Oct 2007 | Try the MGO beta for a while, you'll encounter some horror stories once you see the dread that is *ominous voice* BASE. Seriously. Everyone's running around with knives, as far away from those game-deciding bases as possible, while you're left trying desperately to hold the single last base against three people at once. The best team mates in an online game, ever, huh? |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 3426 Joined: 14 Jan 2008 | Best & worst: Playing with a freind on Halo it was 4 v 4 and the other two on our team had 20 deaths with a whole zero kills to back them up but me and my frend managed to get 25 kills each and only 2 deaths between us giving us a very close victory. |

We've all had moments with team mates the were executed so well and made you feel that you're unstoppable together and must immediately get everyone on your contacts list for future games, and we've had times with a team that make you question the very notion this was designed with team play in mind at some point or another.
best: A nice game of halo 3 on sandtrap, our team was outnumbered and losing heavily, wise idea comes from some guy and we all huddle together in the elephant, proceeding to slaughter every attacker and pile a warthog onto the back, a nice turret, when the other team rushed us in an elephant, an epic battle was on, we were near tying at this point, a few points behind.
We're all preparing to get completely slaughtered when we realize "one guy is missing." that's how tight we were, noting that our comrade was gone, we hadn't had a single death since we crammed in here, plus noting there was only five of us against 8, we all look back at the other elephant we're rolling towards, when we see a banshee on our side come flying from behind them, causing mass confusion and damage, well, we rush out, and manage to kill them all, we crammed back into the elephant and the rest of the game was brilliant.
worst: Playing call of duty 3 on the Poisson map, a game of team deathmatch, i was sniping and i had two mates in tanks team killing everyone, eventually everyone got pissed off and started TK'ing left and right, i simply hid and killed what i could, not being a good sniper didn't help much, my team much less, we lost by a fucking landslide.
