ShyWinter:

Lower the difficulty. DMC3 is IMPOSSIBLE on anything other than "easy", even if you're a seasoned gamer.

Unless you're like on of those freaks that plays those games non-stop, and proceeds to get 'S' ranks on the hardest difficulty. Or you're Japanese. /jk

Edit:

werepossum:

BIA - See above for AI. Plus, my character is a soldier in an elite airborne division, at his peak physical condition. So why do I move slower, and shoot worse, than in real life? The surviving members of the actual mission would even today, sixty years later, shake less when aiming, and probably move faster too.

BIA 2 - See above. Total brain fart buying the sequel.

It's a shame you didn't like them. I found the first one to quite good, though the expansion was supposed to be terrible. I suppose it's 'To each their own'...

Bah DMC3 is easier than Ninja Gaiden. I'm actually better at Ninja Gaiden though because its much easier to dodge in DMC3. If you want to learn how to play DMC go play Ninja Gaiden (Don't be afraid to read combat FAQs it's how I learned to play the game.) then apply the same kinds of techniques to DMC.

I can't belief anyone would be unhappy with Timesplitters 2, you have to love bricking monkeys.

Lost Planet: I thought it looked good but when I bought it (15 bucks) it just wasn't that fun and the multiplayer was like getting a back alley abortion with a spork

Dark Messiah: Might and Magic, the single-player was alright, and the online play was a horrible lagfest.

History Channel's Battle For The Pacific. beat it in two hours, sucky gameplay, bad "innovations" and it was made by the suckfest, Cauldron.

Well, I regret that one too - the single player was...well, uninspiring, methinks. Plus, extremely buggy at first.

NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams - As I think so very fondly of the first this was a huge excitement for me before it was released...now I wish it's horror had never been inflicted on the world! Talk about crappy voice acting, appalling graphics and the total destruction of the spirit of the first one. Well done Sega of America, leave it to the pro's in Japan next time!

Zelda: Phatom Hour Glass - Ocarina of time shall forever be high on my 'fave games of all time' list, yet this one deserves no more comment other than. 'Funny shaped keys into the funny shaped holes for the sixth ****** time!' I mean come on what was the point in that much repetition!

Sonic Heroes - Again before release was looking forward to it, was willing to forgive it's many flaws at first play, then got stuck on a god awful glitch! Seemed that going too fast was a bad thing...in a Sonic game I ask you! :)

It kills me slowly inside to see these otherwise great games go to waste with bad sequels/continuations. Oh well Okami out on the Wii soon - they can't get that too wrong now can they?!

Dynasty Warriors 6. I honestly have no idea how koei decided using 2 buttons for combat was actually too hard.

I regret buying Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory not because I didn't like it- I did- but because I traded away two much better and longer lasting games to get it: Metal Arms and Burnout 3.
@ThaBenMan: I agree with your possible heartbreakers. I haven't preordered them but I'm really hoping they'll be good and dreadin that they won't be.

GTA San Andreas. It was great screwing around but after a while I wanted to go through the storyline. Way WAY to hard. It is the same with DMC 3. Seems to me that difficulty is the main reason people regret buying games

If the game frightens you perhaps you should stop buying scary software. I'm gonna go play Silent Hill now.

Thanx for the Assasins Creed warnings I really wanted to get that game. I always wait until they are cheap but that one I will get from eBay!

Supercross Kings on PC bad graphics that burn your eyes to watch and bad bike physics
so bad I detroyed it so no other may be tortured by it!

TrueCrime NewYork on PS2 I liked TC LA but NY game is a downgrade like I have never seen

Simpsons Road Rage So utterly boring and repetative. Good for a kid maybe...maybe.

Resident Evil 4 To be fair I have never played this series before and I really dont like
blonde heroes to begin with but I have tried and tried and cannot get into
the flow. The character movement is odd for me and whats with the
Search box...Do you want the gold...Yes now take the gold.
Just pick it up when I get near it!! JEEZ

Dude, Assassins creed is awesome. Sure combat gets old, but It's not that bad! At least you could kill guards in a really cool frakin fashion.

"'Clive Barker's 'Clive Barker's Jericho'" - Explanation not needed other than I am an idiot.
TimeShift - Shamelessly rips off Half-Life 2, but fun. Unfortunately, not much.
Half-Life: Blue Shift - Opposing Force was good, this must be too. FAIL
Juiced: Oh great, more Need For Speed ripoffs.
Nickelodeon Party Blast - I bought it for my 5-year-old cousin. I'm not THAT crazy!
NBA Live '06 - Hey, it was 5 bucks and had super easy achievements.
Serious Sam II - OH GOD, THE REPETITION!!!
Microsoft Flight Simulator - How could something so bland be made successful?
Microsoft Train Simulator - Like Flight Sim, but you can't control your direction!
Orange Box (360) - I love the Box, but have you tried to play TF2 on a CONSOLE?
Any expansion pack for the Sims.
Tomb Raider anything.
Zero Wing - Yes, its the ALL YOUR BASE one. I still have it and play it for laughs.

I would like to mention a game I really like that got zero attention: No One Lives Forever.

I'm probably going to get toasted for talking about this classic game...but oh well. Ghosts 'n Goblins. I have never been so pissed off at a game before. Yes, I understand it lead the way for side-scrolling adventure games, blah, blah, blah...but 2 hits and you are dead? Really?

I spent multiple hours hating that game and a couple more hating the fact I needed to buy new controllers after smashing the other ones.

Half Life 1, Half life 2
These are awesome games, but....

i could only play them in 10 minute spurts.

for some reason the developers decided to include motion blur for fast camera movements in these games. this made me very sick to my stomach very fast, so bad that it would ruin a whole evening for me - headache, nausea, vertigo... i REALLY wanted to play these games through, so i'd try....
they cause such physical misery for me that i had to give up on them entirely.

most other fps' are fine, but i'm afraid of trying new ones. Half Life 1 and 2 ruined an entire game genre for me.

THey are GREAT games and i like the story, but u can only stand so much

ALL of the HALO games, waste of money and time, i don't understand y people are so obsessed with them, seriously! All u do is kill alien things, not that exciting and it requires no tatic. i like a challenge in my games, and yes i did beat legendary

now i bet i'll get tons of hate mail for this

Lately games now just seem to be copies of each other i am just getting so sick of it. Developers just take a good fps for example and just churn out a cheaply made copy so i wasn't buying games for a while up until GTA 4 which to date is probably the greatest game i have ever played.

but getting back to the point of this forum......Two Worlds and The Darkness are pieces of shit.

Wild Arms 4: Blech, Battle System so good... story...so bad!

Mercenaries: I found this game FAR too silly to be interesting.

Rome Total War: I never really liked Roman Politics and Medieval Total War 2 came out a few months after I bought this, so it was a waste.

Burnout Revenge: It just wasn't as much fun as Burnout 3

Never Winter Nights Diamond Pack: I really didn't like NWN, it's just not that fun.

Perfect Dark Zero, King Kong, Syphon Filter 2, SH4 The Room, and Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. All of those sucked. Repetitive gameplay, bad graphics, a fucking rainbow of reasons.

Sonic Heroes (I preordered it too, damn it). Red Steel (give this to people you hate). Gemini Force (no one who played it with me could get past the first level).

flamedance58:
Battlefield 2142 - Insane server lag, asshole players, non-Vista compatibility, and CS clonage.

thats odd, because I have vista and it works just fine, I experience no server lag or asshole players, unless you count the ones that take off in a vehicle alone without you, but thats about it.

MotorStorm, I traded my copy of Army of Two for it. And a slew of PS2 games I got off of eBay for cheap that weren't really that great. Surprisingly, COD3 is one of the ones I think was worth the $20 I got it for.

And in PSN games...

LocoRoco Choreccho-Shittiest game ever. Not worth 2 bucks much less $7.
Super Stardust HD-Fun for a while, but got bored after a half hour.
PixelJunk Monsters-See above.

I'm looking forward to FlOw and Calling All Cars when I get some money.

Nexus; The jupiter Incident. It looked pretty, was cheap, and was a sci-fi, all looked good. I don't think i even got past the tutorial (wow was the marcus/russell crowe wannabe guy's voice acting bad)

Syndicate for the Snes - i bought this when i was quite young, and never had a clue in the slightest what to do, recently decided to try it on an emulator (I'm older now, i should get it)no

DMC3 - special edition. While the game itself is not that bad (hard) its possibly the worst pc port in the history of.....ever, compatability issues, poor instructions and options, lack of widescreen support aside, you actually need a gamepad to play this, or you end up getting "wankers cramp" in about one level.

Also, what did you not like about Call of Juarez? (i'm intruiged as i thought it was great, who couldn't love a crazy gunslinging preacher who quotes pulp fiction :P)

And maybe i'm just a complete fanboy of the dystopic settings/genre, what was bad about stalker? (granted the game got a lot better when you install the Oblivion lost mod)
