I've come to hate the Guitar Hero vs Real Guitar thread popping up every few days. It's annoying because by we've covered all bases of the issue by the 4th goddamn page and the only thing that keeps bumping it is some a-hole who read the first post then posted his thoughts, not realising his thoughts had been made and rebutted on page 3.
I hate Half Life threads. They keep coming back and they're on such silly details of the game -Do you love Gordon Freeman? How cool is the crowbar? etc etc- because the game is so old everyone has already said anything interesting that can be said about the game. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel. You're making a crappy uneven hexagon that won't roll properly. Find a new game to hump.

Honestly, those are the only ones that get on my nerves.

I liked MGG, I'm not a escapist vet. so seeing his 'reviews' were pretty hilarious - a nice break from 'discussion'.

Also, anything about "What is the most over-rated [anything]" - it can be games, books, movies...whatever. They are old and overdone.

gonna go with, "lets reminisque (however its spelled) about old games we used to love." stop it, i dont care and a lot of us havent played random game x that you loved. throw up a thread asking if weve played it and what we thought, and leave it at that. its enough with the quotes or games or consoles from the 80s. seriously, stop it

Just...it could be 'Angel of Death sighted hanging the wicked on his Halo of Meathooks' and I still wouldn't want to see it because someone would immediately feel the need to post about how 'FPS's belong on the computer' and 'really it didn't do anything that HL wasn't already doing' and all the other stupidity that follows with Pavlovian rapidity and certainty every time the word Halo comes up.

oooohhhh....metroid VS Halo. they aren't even the same freaking genre people. One's a shooter, the other is an adventure/puzzle/exploration game where you happen to shoot stuff.

Anything that winds up being populated by trolls and generic misfits, though I do appreciate when this allows me to go trollslaying.

Zero Punctuation comments should be locked after 250 comments - by that time, every new point and counterpoint about the actual game or review has been made. By that time, at least 5 new people who joined Escapist Forums just to comment on ZPs has been booted because they think that Escapist Forums is a place for bad spelling, multiple exclamation points, and Caps Lock.
