Finally...I've unlocked Luigi !!

I swear that was one of the most triumphant moments in my gaming "career", beating those damn purple coin challenges....

To all and any who have also persisted with getting all 120 stars, I take my hat off to you.

Bring forth the Banhammer

Or atleast lock this thread, it really has no future. Plus I wanted to post up this video, the series is very funny.

Well anyway I tried to get 120 stars for SM64 but I found it too hard. In SMG do you need to get 100 coins for a star or did they get rid of that?

That's phenomenal, i nearly cried after about 10 attempts on the Battlerock Purple coin challenge, srsly... it got past the point of annoyingly pointless to try and complete it when i was ending up with like 95 coins by the end and not being able to go back like 10 metres to pick up those last few ones i missed =[

Good for you. Fair warning though: it gets MUCH, MUCH harder playing as Luigi.

Just to emphasize just how much harder it gets, I beat Battlerock Purple Coin on my 3rd try (yes, really) and I just quit after being unable to beat Shadow Luigi's race challenge on Honeyhive.

Congratulations... but we all know the Wii is for little children</jk>...

But, how does the Star thing actually work? Is it a hidden thing, or do you have to do extra levels?

Upon admitting this, you might want to get those decaying corpses out of your basement before Mulder and Sculley show up at your door asking where girl scout troupe #73 went.

Ok, so I like screwing with people; but I admit, that's one hell of an achievement. I've always wanted to play as luigi in a mario game without him controlling like a feisty weather balloon. Kudos for doing something I tried to do but quit in a fit of vehement rage after star 94 or so.

Hahaha, this reminds me of when I got 120 stars on mario 64, and unlocked yoshi. Everyday, I'd wake up, jump in the cannon, get all my lives, and shut off the game. I was about 7 or 8. I also remember being an impressionable child, and looking for HOURS for luigi in that game. Chasing around that little rabbit, and burning myself on torches.

I was extremely addicted to this game and got 120 like two weeks after it came out. :D

[sarcasm] Hoo-rah.[/sarcasm] You have 120 stars. I have 900 posts. Who gives a hoot. (In my opinion)

I rented this game thinking it would be short enough for me not having to spend 50 dollars on it, but I think you telling me this just showed me exactly how long this game really is.

Hell, it may be just a fun little platformer but I'm enjoying the hell out of it so I may actually buy this.

Well in his defense, this isn't something like Gamerscore or Post Count, this takes more effort.

ah battlerock, i actually did this about 2 weeks after it was released, i was so proud seeing as i couldn't be arsed with 64 or sunshine.
i've not tried as luigi though, i'd had enough of purple coins and those stupid dissappearing levels. is it much different?

I have a friend who got all 120 stars with Luigi a week after getting SMG :\

Personally, I got about 63 stars then gave up. SMG has little to no replay value for me. Especially doing all the levels again with Luigi, YAY I CAN DO THE ENTIRE THING OVER OH WHAT FUN

At least they could have modified some stuff beyond the fact that Luigi is a bit different to work with.

Um me that's who gives a hoot. 120 stars takes skill. 900 posts just takes time.

Doing something like that is just a pointless waste of your time. I enjoy gaming and what not but I don't waste away my life trying to get something that gets me NOTHING in return. Just less friends and sleep deprivation.

Call me stupid but don't ALL games get you NOTHING in return regardless of whether you play them for 1 hour or 1 year? Games are a way to pass time, so if some of us decide to use that time to actually COMPLETE a game we enjoy, being told it's wasting our life away is just ignorant jealousy.

Sorry for my criticism of achievements, because I prefer finding things, not being skillful. I preferred the trophies & skill points in R&C. (Although I am good at Deadlocked, I will never call it R&C.)
