In the opinion of escapees what is the best flash game/ games available to play online in a browser. In fact any browser based game is applicable. I find at times like this i want to be chatting and going on forums but i also want to be laying a nice game that fun, can be picked up easily and you can pause.

My favourite at the moment is N-Blox the tetris game and you have to burn the rope is epic

Even though it's an oldie and actually going through a console development cycle, I have to say Castle was a good one. Talk about a game that would hurt your wrist. Throwing stick figures in the air and watching them splat in a satisfying way is always a good time for me.

It just goes to show that simple game concepts succeed just as much as the complex ones.

Cardmaster Conflict. A balanced TCG with a LOT of time and effort invested into it. It's viable to play hundreds of different deck strategies and never get bored.

The funny little harmless train robber game located where an ad should be at the top of this site, coincidently the makers of Alien Hominid.

Endless War 3. Tons of weapons, missions, etc. Kept me occupied for a long time. Plus there's a way to use all weapons for all missions and there is nothing sweeter than taking down nazis with a futuristic minigun.

I used to love Tony's Teddy and Nobby Nuss. Even when I completed them I'd keep going back to try and get on the leader board. Kind of sad, but I had good fun doing it.

If you guys liked Portal, you will not be disappointed to try the Portal Flash game. OK, so we don't get GLaDOS' witty dialogue, but the puzzles in the game are actually more challenging than the actual Portal. Very very well done.

I believe Armor Games has a game called Barbarian Bob...it's difficult in that old-school arcade game way, one-hit deaths, and you have to block using your shield while fighting, etc.

Seconding Armor Games, specifically Bunker and the Last Stand games. Great shooters with depth.
Also Canyon Shooter, a Metal Slug-esque game with great play.

It's not Flash, but Kingdom of Loathing is good if you like a long committed RPG with a bit of lunacy.

M.U.G.E.N.-2D fighting game where you can essntially play as any character ever in a fighting game.

lovely free fighting game. Download it from elecbyte.com I believe or just google search it. To add characters there are tons of tutorials on youtube. Have fun. Oh and some good sites for characters and the like is mugenation.com or if you want specific characters use esnips.

I personally got a stupendous amount of entertainment from The Last Stand and to a slightly lesser degree, The Last Stand 2.

The Last Stand 2 is a lot harder, but sadly, much less rewarding to finish, with a NES-styled "You are win. Conglaturation." end screen.

Boomshine

No... my life... ebbing away... pretty colors must explode...

Ahem.

How about Hoshi Saga? Simple premise (find the star!), dastardly evil ways of hiding it.

N and Portal: The Flash Version

I haven't finished either yet, but oh, they are so fun. I'm going to play N right now.

Oh, and "Light People on Fire" in Newgrounds. It's not what you'd expect. Pure genius.

There are video games that try to simulate the experiences of being a policeman, a secret agent, a surgeon and a biker, but there have never been any games that attempted to simulate the practice of psychiatry. Enter The Asylum: Psychiatric Clinic for Abused Cuddly Toys, a game where you attempt to psychoanalyze stuffed animals.

Then, for the inner geek in all of us, we have Kafkamęsto, a dream-like flash game based on a pastiche of the works of Franz Kafka. Is that one of the ten most awesome things you've ever heard of?

(hmm, maybe I should review these in the User Reviews section)

N, Portal, Endless War 3, and I'm surprised I haven't seen this, the Thing Thing series on Addicting Games is a ton of fun. Old style side scrolling arcade shooting with cool weapons and everything! I love them!

Achilles. An awesome sidescrolling fighter with some controls that are slightly advanced for a sidescroller. The boss fights are epic, also.
