No; buy it for Zack and Wiki, Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Okami, Zelda TP and the many other great games on the system as well...

Fanboy alert...

Anyway - not for one game. When thinking about buying a Wii, ask yourself will it be played in a couple of months time? I know a lot of people who have bought one and they don't really use it now.

Would the money be better spent on another console? or towards a good PC gaming rig?

No, unless you throw parties a lot and consider getting some party titles along with it. The Wii shines when used for social entertainment, but other than that, it's just 'meh'.

I bought a PS3 this Sunday just for GTA 4. I already have a gaming PC and a Wii. I plan on getting Force unleashed and the next Final Fantasy game also to help make the purchase worth it. I know my PC could easily handle GTA IV, but I just couldn't bear to wait the 6 months or so for its PC release

Yeah. Because what will actually happen is once you've got the thing, you'll find plenty of other games you'll end up wanting too. That's what happened with me, at least. I went from being unsure the purchase was a good idea, to having to seriously ration my buying of games.

Doesn't the 360 version have more content? Why did you pay more money for less content? *is confused*

Anyway, I'd say you shouldn't get it for one game. If you find some others you think you might enjoy, by all means, go for it, but otherwise just borrow/steal a friend's one.

I only have 5 games for my Wii, but it still amuses me. SMG is the one I play least though, the replay value isn't that good IMO.

Never buy a console for just one game ;\

If UrMrGay is the only game you forsee wanting, don't bother. Games get old no matter how fun they are, and this gen of consoles is too expensive to blow money for one or two good titles. I'd say no less than 5 games before a Wii is worthwhile.

Go with that and Brawl, but expect the Wii to lose its appeal after a few weeks or so.

hell, I play my PS3 more than I do my Wii

"Should I get a [system] just for 1 game?"

The answer is always NO. Period. Also, there are more games out there, so keep searching!

Yes. I bought the PS2 simply for Soul Calibur 3, and ended up buying 40 more games that I love still to this day.
You'll buy it for Mario, and keep it for it's small library of pure joy. (Epic win with LoZ)

I was on the fence for a long time trying to decide for almost a week. I decided on the PS3 because its is likely to have more exclusives that won't be ported to PC like the xbox 360 will.

I have the Wii with at this point only 1 game - Super Mario Galaxy.

I think it's totally worth it. SMG is one of the most refreshing game experiences you could have.

The Wii's most fun aside from that comes in the features. Everybody Votes channel is technically simple and kind of dumb, but my girlfriend and I log into it every week and get competitive over who was right, etc. The Mii channel is fun for the first week. Virtual Console is pretty awesome for the amount of games on there. And finally with the last update you can now use your Wii as a DS download station. I played the Ninja Gaiden demo on my DS and can't wait to see what else they do with it.

If you have the cash to spend, I'd say it's worth it. I find myself preferring it over the other consoles when I'm just looking for a little bit of fun.

I'd vote no, the money could be better spent in my opinion; but it depends what kind of games you like.

The Wii currently supports series' games. Mario, Zelda, SSB, safe games. If you are a fan of any, then it's a worthy investment.

Personally I dont find many of those kind of games exciting, but it depends what you like, truely.

Depends. If you're going to host parties with the console as the focal point, try to get the people who you'd be inviting to aforementioned Wiifests, and see if they'll chip in (I was considering doing that for Rock Band, but then met a friend of a friend who has it).
If not, see if there are any other Wii games you might be interested in, but hadn't noticed before.

Do you have £200 to spend on one game?

If pressed, I'd only buy a Wii for No More Heroes. Or maybe Okami, assuming it isn't backwards compatible with the PS3.

Edit: Turns out Okami is backwards compatibible. So that leaves No More Heroes. So no, I wouldn't buy one, even for No More Heroes. And definately not for a Mario game.

Why on earth would you want to pay for a console, costing >£150, and only have one game? It's a game"s" console, not a game console. As a starter, then SMG is a good start off point, and if you intend to buy games in the future, go for it. If not, then why spend the money? And don't worry, there are good single player games for the Wii, but try to remember it's primarily a social play system to be enjoyed with freinds, so be choosy on what games you buy. Twilight Princess is a good'un, as is No More Heros and Paper Mario, then of course, there are all the GameCube titles worth playing, which should be as cheap as chips - Mario Sunshine anyone?

I've got all 3 of these Wii games along with raving rabbid's 1+2 and SMG but i spend most of my time playing Gamecube titles. Without the GC stuff my Wii wouldn't get that much play time.

Buy it, keep all the stuff that comes with it, play the game, and maybe you'll get lucky and you'll be able to sell it for a *profit* come Christmas time to some parent.

I would say not to buy a Wii for just one game. I had this problem myself a few months ago. I was wondering wether or not I should buy a DS and Phantom Hourglass along with it but decided my $250 would be better used elsewhere becase I knew I wouldn't even get around to finishing it and there's nothing else I'd want to play. I wasn't even sure if I really wanted to play Phantom Hourglass (you know how advertisments are, they draw you in with some sparkly lights and then tell you how your existence is pointless until you buy something).
Save your money, avoid disappointment.

Aah... if only that were actually true; the price of second hand gamecube games has risen due to the sales of the Wii; it's almost reached the point whereby you may as well buy a new Wii game than a Gamecube game. Although, saying that, the Virtual Console is still a unit seller... and the possibilities of WiiWare will soon come into focus...

I originally bought my Wii for Fire Emblem, and Naruto: Ninja Revolution and I am very happy with the system. Also yes if you have friends there are some great games you can get for the purpose of group play.

If you are certain you will like the game then go for it, if you have any doubts at all then well I would hold off.

It depends on the depth of your pocket. I think that the price tag on both the PS3 and XBox360 is a bit high (if you have the money, cool). I own a PC so there's a huge catalog of games for that (and many of them are on the PS3 and XBox360) and the graphics difference is not that big. I decided for the Wii and I don't regret my decision a bit, there's very good games coming out for the Wii. Just wait until developers get a good hand on the mechanics offered by the Wii. An about the graphics issue, I think it's smarter to buy a system (that's 250 USD!) for a couple of good games than buy an overpriced system for just better graphics. Videogames are about gameplay first, graphics are icing on the cake.

I keep looking at a PSP just for Final Fantasy: Crisis Core. But I just keep holding off and praying that one day someone will make a emulator for it so I can play on my pc.

I'm not sure why you are asking us. None of us know your present financial situation or how much you are willing to spend to play one game.
