Gears of War, within my first minute of playing the game versus my big brother, he cut me in half with a chainsaw. I wasn't even angry. That was fucking cool, in a messed up but still cool sort of way.

You got scared by Donkey Kong 64? What did the monkey not wearing pants freak you out? Or perhaps was it the thought that you had to beat the original Donkey Kong to win?

Every day when I see that with technology so impressive they feel the need to call it "next gen" there's still nothing but more of the same old crap with some more inane post processing effects.

I know this is the internet and no-one cares about the English language, but...

It's 'YOUR first next gen "WOW" moment', unless you're trying to say that the reader is a first next gen WOW moment. You see, "you're" is a short version of 'you are', and 'you are first next gen etc' doesn't make a lot of sense. You mean 'your' - it's spelt almost the same as 'our', see.

This is generally a pretty intelligent forum which avoids the usual crimes against spelling, punctuation, grammar and logic, and I would like it to stay that way...

Hey Joe:
When I got out of the sewers in Oblivion. It was the first game I played and the water, the forest and the butterfly that flew past made my jaw drop.

Yeah that was amazing; I could almost smell the fresh, clean air and subtle scent of the nearby flowers.

However my first jaw-dropper was Gears Of War on a HDTV. I was gobsmacked. Bioshock had numerous moments like that, so much so you almost took them for granted.

driving a toyota tacoma off of a cliff through the roof of a shack, jumping out right before the truck hits/explodes, hitting the ground like some kind of fucking HERO while the shack blows apart and sends little Asian men flying into the ocean.

Motorstorm made me buy a PS3, holy ship it looked so awesome!! The beautiful visuals, detailed car destruction and flying ragdolls being crunched under vehicles. Sweet.
