Alright folks, I'm sure this has been done to death, but I want to see the feedback for myself.
Which boss man takes the cake?

seymour of ffx. He started a war between races, had a reason to be evil, can summon his mother and just pwn your own summons.

A mingy twat who only became evil because he was PMSing over the fact that he wasnt human, like sephiroth, can suck my balls.

there is no argument after this, you may go home now, and cower.

Yes, i have beaten him

Yes, it is insane

Yes, my balls grew in the act of vanquishing this beast and i was absolved of all sin.

Emperor Palamecia.

So evil that when you kill him, he takes over hell and comes back to get you.

Sephiroth. Best storyline and a viscious SOB to boot.

btw Yiazmat was piss easy. I set up my gambits and just looked at the screen every 5 minutes and before I beat a few stages of Dynasty Warriors he was dead. -.-;
Now Omega Weapon in FF VIII was a bitch. ><

Gilgamesh

Looks cool, has good music, is funny and tragic at the same time, has a little sidestory that doesn't outstay its welcome, isn't an emo twit and his name is a cool reference.

He's also part of FFV, my favourite FF game.

What's not to like?

I know this is not gonna make me popular around here but...

I found Vayne and the Judges extremely facinating, it was good to see a group of villains with real motivations for once, especially since you spend a large portion of the game with Larsa in your party, hence making Vayne even more complicated as a character. He reminded me of the much more 3-Dimensional Villains you find in the Suikoden Series, where political motivations and ideals take precidence over simple world destroying evil.

But if we MUST have world destroying evil, I'd prefer it in the form of my second choice, the lovable, and completely mad... Kefka. He's crazy, he dresses like a clown, he's sadistic and he's just SO EVIL! All because of botched magitek injections, damn he's awesome.

Meh... he's a cakewalk, just takes a stupidly long time. You want hard boss fights, play Etrian Odyssey.

Anyway, favorite FF villain? Gotta go with Shuyin, he's like a class clown who's practical jokes end in chaotic blood baths.

Kefka.

One, he actually accomplished his task. Only reason he loses in act two is because of poorly designed character survival (Don't get me wrong, I love FFVI, but how the fuck do all these people survive getting hurled out of an exploding airship four miles above the earth?).

Two, he's a smart villian. He lets politics and backstabbing do his dirtywork while letting everyone else just think he's the clowny comic relief villian that won't do much. Oh, sure the Emperor looks rather nasty and all Hitler-esque, but... Nope, he's kinda a pussy pushover. Also, his world-ending, rule-new-world plan had great genious simplicity to it. You know how in all other villians' plans, the last thing to do is "Chant the ancient tongue and let flow the blood of twelve virgins under the full moon of the Winter's Solstice, and" blah blah blah blah blah. Kefka took a note out of the Evil Overlord's list and made sure it ended with "Push statue."

Three, clown motif. Sure, the newer villians have the usual "oh my God they had a sale at the S&M leather store and I just haaaad to get this!" But Kefka went to the Dollar Bozo store and took out whatever they had on sale, turning him into the stuff of children's nightmares.

Four, no whining. Good Lord, Sephiroth is such a pansy momma's boy. His Oedipal rantings just got annoying after awhile, while Cloud's emo bitching wasn't going on.

Five, because I said so.

Runners up would include Marche from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, and Kain Highwind.

Sephiroth is just a Kefka wannabee.

But since those two have been said, I'll pick a different one.

Kuja: he blew up an entire planet while in a metal thong. It takes balls to do that.
