I downloaded garry's mod for half life 2, but none of the menu buttons (options, start game, load game) are working, except for some reason exit. When they're clicked on they just make some chirp noise. Any ideas why this is happening or how to fix it?

I have no recommendations for you other than Might I suggest to try the Garry's Mod forums?

...Now that I have made a suggestion, I'm going to go on Gmod and make a fireworks show.

Go to your garrys mod index found under. C:/program files/valve/steam/steamapps/<your user name>/garrysmod/garrysmod

Rename the last garrys mod "garrysmod old" and a new file will open under the name Garrysmod. This is a completely new gmod folder. From now on use that one.

If that doesn't work email Garry (find his email on the internet) and he WILL get back to you. I had a similer problem and the above is the advise he gave me.

I've gone to it, but garry smod doesn't show up under my username, it comes up under mods. and when I click on that file all sounds, textures etc. are all that show up

and I only have gmod 9 because i'm cheap, so the contacts can't help

ok i've figured it out, it says i need counter-strike: source and HL2: deathmatch downloaded.
