Last year, I was a total SSBB junkie and I couldn't go 3 days without going on the Smash Bros. Dojo website. Now that it's out, I was wondering what games that will come out this year that either you or I are waiting for impatiently.

For me it's:

Sonic Unleashed
Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood
and Guitar Hero: On Tour!

What games are you waiting for?

Force Unleashed - the game looks fantastic
Gears of War 2 - not the biggest fan of gears but want to see how the second one does
Halo Wars - I enjoyed Halo's storyline, and also I want to see how a console RTS will work

Well, there's the Strong Bad game coming out. I trust the skilled hands over at Telltale to handle it.
Um... can't think of many upcoming releases I'm interested in. There's a bunch of older games I plan to get, but... uh... yeah, nothing for quite some time.

-Fallout 3: Oh, the nostalgia. Bethesda better doesn't screw this up. (Hated Oblivion)
-Left 4 Dead: The coop focus seems interesting.
-Starcraft 2: It's the sequel to Starcraft, what more do you have to know.
-Spore: looks like it could be fun.

I'm saving up to go overseas next year so I have limited my game purchases this year to 1.

Force unleashed

I can't think of any better use for a wiimote than pretending it's a lightsabre.

-Alone in the Dark - I wasn't interested until the first gameplay trailer. I'll be happy if the game is at least half as good as it looks
-Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - Looks like Jedi Knight 2 on crack
-Halo Wars - Halo + RTS, I know it will be a trainwreck, but I have to see it
-Silent Hill: Homecoming - I really hope they don't screw it up
-Gears of War 2 - Loved the first, I just hope this one is longer

Fallout 3
Brutal Legend
The Force Unleashed
Borderlands
(I have all of those on preorder right now)

I just saw a couple in the new GI that look really cool - Darksiders, Damnation, the new Banjo Kazooie game - uh, not sure if those are this year or 2009 but I'll still keep an eye on 'em

EDIT: OH,OH, and the new Prince of Persia game too

Brutal Legend
Rock Band
Soul Calibur IV
Force Unleashed (I'm definitely not a star wars nerd, but the concept looks cool)
inFamous (Haha. I laugh in the face of your punctuation)
Killzone 2
Metal Gear Solid 4
Guitar Hero IV, so I can laugh at how pathetic it is.
Banjo Threeie for the same reason.

Indigo_Dingo:

Banjo Threeie for the same reason.

Not to be annoying, but it's "Banjo-Kazooie: Nut's and Bults." Unless of course they're making two seperate games, at which point, feel free to cyber-slap me.

Anyway, in this order:

Prince of Persia: Heir Apparant
MGS4: Guns of the Patriots (Got to get a PS3 first)
Mirror's Edge
Sonic Unleashed
Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood (Is that this year?)

These are my most wanted games (of course, the actual list I have is longer).

Last i heard it was called Banjo Threeie. This makes it sound slightly less lame. Well, I say slightly...

Hello? i am all for the games above, so i wont list them again, but what about "Battlefield Bad Company"? It is a faced paced military fps, with a new twist. FULLY DESTRUCTABLE ENVIROMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The multiplayer is going to be awesome ( a series standerd), but DICE has put a huge emphasis on the singleplayer ( a first for the series). It comes out june 23rd in the U.S. A demo is coming out june 6th. Sorry about all the foriegn people, but i don't have any foriegn release dates. By the way, i am not a battlefield nerd, i just saw X-Play's preview and a few gamplay-beta videos. Fully Destructable Enviroments are a first for a good fps, and i can't wait for both the game and the demo.

Okay, I checked, definently Nut's and Bolts. Here is a link (not to be rude, and if I seem to be, sorry!)

http://www.gametrailers.com/game/3272.html

That leads to a page with a bunch of vid's.

Also, I forgot to put "The World Ends with You." Out already, but I gotta get it still.

tomb raider underworld: i played tomb raider legend for free on gametap and i fell in love, think assasins creed free running combined with tomb raider puzzles. so i think they have redeemed themselves for the past, and i also loved the story line and i would buy it just to find out what happens next

spore:does this need explanation? its really freaking exciting

splinter cell conviction: i love and am spoiled by this series. i fell in love with stealth action when i played the first and cant find a good stealth action outside of it

soul caliber 4: darth vader!!! yes! win! love SC its the best fighting mechanic ever done
star craft 2: first game ever i fell in love with i think. and now its finally getting a sequel!! excellent.

the agency: yes! MMO with a persistant world = win and without fantasy=win, and with fps= win and with stealthy spying stuff= win. cant forget the rumored absence of a subscription fee. this may be the only memorperger that ill ever play.

portal 2: duhhh no question about it.

sonic unleashed: a return to form for sonic whihc might make this his finally succesful transitoin to 3d

prince of persia:heir apparent: this will be chill for all the reasons found in my other thread about platformers http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.60611

brutal legend: well its by tim schaefer need i say more? yes i do. its voiced by jack black, and its main tool of destruction is a metal powered axe! i mean can you get any more awesome?!

mirrors edge: itll be so cool, ive been hoping for a parkour inspired game for a while and this could be what ive been waiting for. its starting to look freaking awesome!

the force unleashed for wii: im really excited to be able to pick people up with the force and throw them, and with the wii controls this could rock some serious shit!

stompy:

  1. Brothers in Arms:Hell's Highway
  2. Mercenaries 2:World in Flames
  3. Fallout 3
  4. Too Human
  5. Fable 2

PS: In that order.

Right off the bat you've nailed my personal top one, Fallout 3. I am a huge fan of 1 and 2, and I've been getting my fallout fix from the reviews of whats done on fallout 3 thus far and playing Stalker to tide me over. But the sad part is the release date, and this is a first for me, that I'm actually waiting on a game to come out, other than that last week for Crysis but that doesn't count cause the wait was on the super computer being built to run it.

So..

1: Fallout 3 (Loved fallout, loved oblivion, therefore will probably love Fallout made with the Oblivion engine in an unhealthy way)

2: Stalker: Clear Skys (the much awaited follow up to Stalker, and unlike the hollywood's shameful efforts, if Nightwatch is anything to go by then Russian sequals actually better their predecessor rather than flog all of the old ideas again and again til no one cares if the 'hero' lives or dies anymore.

3: World in conflict: Soviet Assault
And let me just add World in conflict is the best new and most refreshing RTS I've playing in a long long time, and consider I've played RTS's since the original Dune, ie the very first RTS ever made anywhere, which came on 5 three and a half inch floppy disks on an Amiga 500, and that's a long way back on the scale.

4: There's another Brother in Arms coming out? I'm sure to get that too if I see it, so long as it's a bit more creative than the second one.

PS: There was not a damn thing wring with Doom 3. The only game I know of to literally make people cry while playing it. That's my kinda game. It made Halo look like the non-event it was.

I think you mean "Little Big Planet". (Unless the title is different for Canada.)

Metal Gear Solid 4, Mercenaries 2 & Little Big Planet.
