Technically, Kane & Lynch should've been a movie in the first place. Really liked that game's plot. Actually...I think someone already bought the movie rights.

Old, a criminal movie about 2 partners in crime doing stuff is just so damn old, anything containing 2 partners and crime is already worn out, Thelma and Louise, Bonny and Clyde, Starsky and Hutch etc..

What would make a great movie is the background story for Warhammer: Fantasy Battles, i know alot of people arent aware of it, but seeing as Games Workshop has had 25 years to perfect their story and character design in arts etc.. it would be the perfect movie, much better then a WoW movie as someone previously suggested, seeing as Warhammer > Warcraft, and this i say as a big Warhammer fan, and a WoW addict.

Warhammer 40k, (CGI or not it would be awesome, and yes it would have an actual story, just because it's a war movie doesn't mean it won't have character development, etc. etc. - it was pulled off in the games, so it could be done for the movies too - sorry but I keep hearing people say "character development be damned!" just because it's a damn war movie)

The best way to do a warhammer 40k movie would be something set in the Horus Heresy era. The emperor and the primarchs would make excellant main characters in a film.

I think portal could be made into something, maybe a half-hour thing. Featuring nothing but GLaDOS' voice and portal blurps for sounds, and having the visual motif of being constantly in motion, vis a vis the camera never stops moving. Ever.

Viewtiful Joe. It's set in movieland, it can't be that hard to do...

One of the Devil May Cry games. Get the right director and producer, and more importantly, the choreographer who worked on the games, and it would be great, if a bit of a brainless action gorefest.

I've got one for a game-to-TV-show: Freelancer. The mission structure of the game allows simple missions to be filler episodes and the story to be the plot of the show.

Movies though? Call of Duty 4 or F.E.A.R could be done well in the proper hands, Halo if Hollywood stopped being a bitch, Viewtiful Joe if the main actor could act, and any Blizzard game involving the word '-craft' or 'Diablo'.

Really? As opposed to 'Die Hard in Space'? I think the plots potential comes from what a sober look at the buddy crime drama really boils down to. Crazy asshole, sociopath, and nothing good coming from nothing.

A Mass Effect movie will be interesting.

I don't think a Half-Life movie will ever be made. Something tells me Valve hold Half-life in to much of a higher regard to make movies from it.

Now a Team fortress Two movie, that would be good.

I could imagine that.

The movie would be extended versions of "Meet the Team" and shows some of their life experiences. Medic ftw.

Well, I just think it would rock if they brought out a Duke Nukem movie, set during the "those alien bastards shot up my ride" part of Duke 3D.

Seriously, someone actually pulling off Duke Nukem's look on a movie screen? I'd pay to see it.
I would.

If movie executives could restrain themselves from inventing a love interest (like they're so keen on doing) for Kratos, God of War would easily bust blocks in movie form.

GTA, Directed by Quintin Tarantino, Staring Vinnie Jones (and probably Tarantino somewhere).
OK that's basically pulp fiction, but in order to cover a story with the kind of arc GTA has, it would take a trilogy of 2 1/2 hour moves, pure epic debauchery...
too good to ever be made....

Agree with the Bioshock motion only IF, and it is a big IF, they keep the whole philosophy and atmosphere around it.

I'm still waiting for the God of War movie done by Batista, because wrestlers are the greatest actors ever! Just look at John Cena's emotional face expressions variations. It is one more than Steven Seagal's can ever portrait!

And after ScrewAttack's rumor, I am so waiting for Earthworm Jim: The Movie.

Call of Duty 4 hands down for me. Loved the story. Although they would have to add a lot of stuff to it to make it last longer than an hour and a half. :)

chris tucker as g man.

i think a max payne movie could be potentially awesome.

metal gear solid movie will most likely be crap because a) the plot is so complex that it would have to be copied pretty much word for word to make sense and b) there is far too much plot in each game to condense into even a three hour long movie

I don't think they could actually make a Half-Life movie without drastically altering the storyline. Obviously, some alterations are always neccessary for screen adaptations, but I can't imagine the general audiences' reaction to the unbridled slaughtering of U.S. Marines by the protagonist.

I think the WoW movie (has that been announced yet) will be pretty epic. WoW if you look into has a great, if not crazily nerdy, storyline. Throw in some epic LOTR battles with green and blue spells flying across the screen and viola, Picture of the Year award.

engh for WoW's story. Warcraft 3's story was sooooo much better in my opinion and would actually work for a movie.

Other then that, maybe a MGS movie would be good as well. And fuck you Konami for rejecting David Hayter. If anyone out there understands Solid Snake as much as Hideo Kojima does its him :/

No More Heroes. Every single cutscene in that game is hysterical, every single action scene is chocked full of cartoony violence and a movie adaptation of it would be a hell of a ride.

I reckon Half-Life would make for a really awesome sci-fi//action kinda movie, as long as they kept the crowbar as one of the main weapons that he uses (i'm remembering some awesome bludgeoining scenes in 'Apocalypto' with heavy objects haha).

Also i reckon 'Grim Fandango' would make for a very stylish CGI movie, would it not?

The halouniverse would make a great setting for a movie. They released a sequence before Halo 3 came out, in which some soldiers try to get the data on where master cheif lands. I thought "the way they directed it there, they actually made a very good action scene". If the would make a movie about the covenant wars, where you follow a squad, or a unit, or so in their struggle for survival, i'd be all over it. I doubt anyone's gonna do this though.. If there's gonna be a halo movie, it's gotta be with the chief... unfortunatly

I watched this thing...ages ago on...Youtube, I think, of these marines picking up assault rilfes from Halo and running out to somewhere, and I think it was a sneak peek or something, but I think it was just a hoax or something. A Halo movie'd be interesting though.

It was a series of videos directed by the guy who was supposed to direct the Halo movie and they were made as part of the advertising campaign.

I think Half-Life would make a good movie. It would be amazing if they managed to pull it off without giving Gordon's actor any dialog at all.

"IF there's a Halo movie"...I think there will be one, but my real biff will be the differentiation (did I spell that right?) between game, movie and books (YES, THERE WERE BOOKS!) I read the books, and THEN played the games, and the story in the games was skewed and skewed and then skewed some more away from the books. If there's a movie, who knows that it won't be in a completely different place? Master Chief is John, Spartan 117, but no, there were not 100-something other Spartans (who survived the genetic process and training to become a Spartan). I would also like to know: is he the main character in the movie, as in the games? Just wondering because posts here are indicating otherwise. Sidenote: this is my first post! Congratulate me or die.

When i heard frome a friend that a Halo movie was to be made, i almost cried. That would be the equivalent of any movie directed by uwe boll. But when i heard that an extremely unconfirmed Metal Gear Solid movie was to be made, i had the same reaction.

Only this time it was out of joy.
Seeing as how i absolutley love Metal Gear Solid's story line, it made my year.
Then i found out there probably isn't going to be one, it made me very angry.

So what games do you gamers think would make the best movie adaption?

Just buy MGS4, the 90 minute cut scenes should be plenty.

Christ are you the only one that didnt discover that it was a false rumor? All the cut scenes in the game add up to 90 minnutes. The poster mis-read the original article.

Team Fortress 2...YOU ALL KNOW I'M RITE

I'd be like a documentary "life in the fort" or something like that, just imagine the "meet the ___" video but all rolled into one and covered with Awesomesauce and Lolersyrup

I'd just like to say that is a fucking great idea because even though Tarantino is famous for his "violence" and controversial stuff - Dialogue is his strongest point, so I think giving him GTA to work with is a fantastic idea.

(If anyone disagree's with me, I'd just like to forewarn you that I'm a tarantino fanboy :P )

Tom Clancy 2.0?

Tarantino should definately not make a GTA movie, but if they get him to produce the next game! That would be friggin awesome.
