Hell, even if they are genuinely good games like Chrono Trigger there are people that just don't enjoy them. Since good is a relative term, defined by the likes and dislikes of a person, I'd say his statement is truth for him alone. |

correct me if I'm wrong but this is the first thread I've done that is about any of the ZP vids. |

I don't like Final Fantasy either. Only Advent Children because it's a huge CG fightscene. |

And turn based combat in a video game!? Blech. I just vomitted a little. Anyway, to echo a previous poster: We have threads to discuss Zero punctuation. Keep ZP discussin, in it's proper thread. 'Lest the boards become flooded with fanboys and trolls. |

Further, Yahtzee's statement, other than being there purely for offensive humor, comes of his own dislike for the genre (which he explains himself in the review). It's purely opinion, and as that's all most reviews ever really are, one must simply take it as such and pass it by if their opinion differs. There was a huge thread awhile back that compared JRPGs and Western RPGs and went into humorously exact detail about the benefits and flaws of each (Short version: detailed and moving story, little player effect on said story versus intense player effect on world but not knowing what the HELL is going on) There are ZP specific threads? This really does rather belong there, I suppose... |

If he hates it, say, the triggers of the PS3 controller, than he'll say "avoid the PS3 version" - even though it's pretty much a matter of preference. |

That is to say that jRPG is a fairly well defined template, and there are plenty of games that fit it well. If your idea of a good jRPG is a wRPG, then you have unrealistic expectations of the genre. Larenxis, if you don't see the appeal of any of the Final Fantasy games, jRPG's are probably not your cup of tea. Or some other caffeinated beverage, if tea isn't your cup of tea. |

You think that one statement was a little too over the top, even by Zero Punctuation standards? I mean, saying that there has never been even 1 good JRPG ever? I understand bias is going to come through in every news/reviewer/etc (except BBC for some odd reason) but that was boarderline evangelical bias.
