I think the upcoming Hellboy videogame looks TERRIBLE, like a bad Devil May Cry clone without the overpowering anime style. I'm a huge fan of the Mignola comics, but they always struck me as moody adventure, not balls to the walls action, though there was plenty of action.

Also... no Nazi's... what's with that?

I'd be happier if a developer with a proven track record of awesome games was making it. As it is, it's a company with a distinctly middling reputation.

Good pedigree didn't help HAZE maybe this one will have a Bungie-Halo breakthrough.

Don't you remember? World War II never happened; six million jews just happened to die in the same year.

It's the new American way: 'When something bad happens, we just pretend it never existed'.

That's funny, I thought it was common (escapist) knowledge that we Americans are WW2-obsessed maniacs who keep trying to force-feed the world an endless banquet of nazi-slaughtering FPS rehashes.

Yeah, it's been semi-"Godwin's Law"'d.

Anyway, I think this game looks alright - it got a 7 from Game Informer, which isn't exactly a bad score. Their major complaint was that it was repetitive - I guess Hellboy's abilities don't change at all from what you begin with. But they said it captured the spirit of the franchise well, and was fairly fun. I'll probably pick it up when the price drops.

The new movie, on the other hand, looks friggin' amazing, I can't wait...

As long as its better than the last Hellboy game... *shudders* I too am a huge fan of the comics, im just wondering if theyre taking their cue from the new film (which looks great), which would explain the dearth of Nazis

Lets think shall we, good games produced from comic movie tie ups hmm ...........
Iron man? .. no, spiderman?, better but no, hulk?, new one may prove me wrong but i doubt it ... no
i have nothing against the comics infact i think they're superb, the movies often arent that bad too, but ... the games that tag along are often badly thought out, produced and plainly pants, meh, we'll see i guess

When I was watching Hellboy I was thinking "This would make a great game... Oh wait." I'm still on the fence.

Hehe, reminds me of "The Happening"

Speaking of crap, this game can't be as bad as "The Happening".

The new Hulk game is terrible. It may get an extra point if they released a patch for the 360 version cuz it was buggy. It was broken on launch day though.

And IGN already has a review of the new hellboy game up if anyone cares.

Ya know, this generation is just fucking crazy, I mean, when I heard the word "Patch" related to consoles, I thought it must have been a cold day in hell - since consoles sole purpose is simplicity and not having to worry about bugs and poor optimization. Now it's become the norm. I'm just shocked. It's like a "how much can you put up with?" Generation nowadays.

Anyway, now that that rant is over with, time for the other one..

Move Tie-Ins: DO COMPANIES ACTUALLY MAKE MONEY FROM THESE?! They are always rushed games that cost too much because they spent more time putting in Higher-Res textures and some more anti-aliasing to make it look up to par with todays technology, and care more about making a decent game than making a good game, and the only thing keeping them alive is the little kids nagging their parents for the game, and the only good thing that I can see coming out of movie tie-ins is that they give more job opportunities for game developers who want to work their way up to the top - and I'd say it's good for the "casual game industry" but since now these things are buggy as hell, what's the point? Now I can only say that it's good for stealing money from parents with naggy kids - or that the marketing is directed to the teens who want to get it because "it's cool" (if the game isn't so "kid friendly") - so that the company can focus on making better games, but with these things coming in their craptastic glory it's hard to say that it's a good thing.

Lets hope the Hellboy game doesn't fall victim to this...

Oh Damnit, look at that score...oh..it's worse than we imagined, oh lord have mercy...
