^^ This. How about a new 2D Megaman game for Xbox Live Arcade? I wouldn't mind reviving Punch Out! either. |

Anonymous Source Posts: 9 Joined: 30 May 2008 | Some of these are perhaps already mentioned but i'd just like to compile a list of the ones i'd love to see return. Dungeon Keeper definitely, i miss those games a lot. I never got to play them much but they really were wonderful to play. Colony Wars also needs a revamp, Every single space-based game that comes out these days is an RTS or a strategy game. I want a good old fashioned space shooter! (Freelancer was good for the PC, but not quite what i'm after) As much as i love the game (it's my all time favourite), I don't think Xenogears should be remade. To me it's the original's charming look with the sprites and the graphics of the PS1 that make it so attractive to play again and again. If it got a remake of some kind, i'd really wish it only remade it to the extent that it was made in it's full form again. Keep the cute characters, keep most of everything the same, just flesh out that second half of the story like they never got to do! Other than that my ultimate support goes to the reviving of the Oddworld games. After the commercial Failure of stranger's wrath (another of my favourite games) Oddworld climed that the gaming community was nothing more than a bunch of sequelites who were too scared to give anything new and original to try. And looking around me they were right. My only solace is that Oddworld are now making CGI movies instead, starting with Citizen Seige which is due for release next year i think? |

http://www.designersnotebook.com/Game_Credits/game_credits.htm Scroll down to the veeeeeerrry bottom, and the second last entry you'll see is Dungeon Keeper 3/War for the Overworld. I suppose Overlord is a -similar- concept, but, much much less. It would have been sweet if they had got it up and running, but quite different from the previous DKs. As for why they don't make another now? Well....EA owns Bullfrog. But they split everyone up to work on different projects. |
Paperboy Posts: 14 Joined: 18 Apr 2008 | Dungeon Keeper would be solid altough that Natural Born Keepers "mod" looks to be quite promising. But beyond the appharent I'd ay Homeworld 2, I mean why have'nt anyone thought of making a Homeworld 3? Especially in our dry day of remakes and revamps. |

Anonymous Source Posts: 6 Joined: 18 Jun 2008 | I second the vote for more Hitman. Though the last one was in 2006 so that wouldn't really class as a "comeback"...more of a continuation. how about a new Bloody Roar? been years since I've played it but I remember they put a great twist on the old beat 'em up formula by letting you temporarily mutate into a huge freaking monster. The memories of being attacked by a gaint mole still stay with me.... |

Muckraker Posts: 324 Joined: 4 Jun 2008 | Thief-series. How could they fail so much with Thief: Deadly Shadows? Mechwarrior. "Warrior", not "Assault". X-Wing or TIE Fighter series. Like, you could name the sequel as TIE Fighter Empire. Sure, it sounds a little bit weird but so does X-Wing Alliance! Haegemonia: Legions of Iron. This one mainly for the explosions. It's been 6 years already but there still isn't any game which has better explosions. |
Paperboy Posts: 27 Joined: 24 Mar 2008 | Bring back the Star Wars Tie Fighter and X-Wing games. I used to play them everyday on my old Win 95. Now with XP I can't. They were great games, and with new graphics it would be awesome. |

Mechwarrior? Mechwarrior. No, I've lost all faith in the Mechwarrior franchise. As much as people bash Mechassault for being too "arcade-y", Mechwarrior started this trend. This trend of taking a game as deep and complex as Battletech and reducing it to a first-person shooting gallery. And, starting from 2 (as far as I know; I never had the opportunity to play the first one), cutting and simplifying until you have, well, Mechwarrior 4 The funny thing is, there's really only one feature that the Mechwarrior games need to implement to reinforce it's Battletech roots; critical hits. I remember playing Mech 3 (or 2, I can't remember) for the first time, and seeing the Mechlab. I was so hopeful, seeing how internal systems limited your mech's critical slots in specific areas. But after playing the game I realised that those internal systems only really limited the weapons you could field. You couldn't, say, damage a mech's gyro stabilizers to knock it over. Some of my most memorable Battletech games ended when I cooked off someones ammo bins with a lucky critical hit, or when I put an AC:10 round through someones cockpit on the first turn. Why can't these scenarios take place in an FPS? Heavy Gear 2 got it right. I was in awe playing that game; every time I heard sirens going off in my cockpit, warnings on my HUD telling my engine was hit by a peircing round, or when my HUD shut down because my external cameras had been hit. Anyways, that's my Mechwarrior rant (it's not specifically adressed to you, Unknower ;) ). Maybe if we get a 5 (I guess I still have a little faith that someone will get it right eventually), we'll see some improvement. Maybe even melee combat! PS> I second a new 2D Metroid. |

Metroid Fusion + Metroid Zero Mission wasn't enough? |
Copy Clerk Posts: 83 Joined: 27 Jan 2008 | I second more Shenmue, and not Shenmue Online. Shemue online looks nice (nice for shenmue, not nice for the current generation of games), but I don't see how it could possibly continue the series properly. I don't want a MMORPG version of Shemue. I want to see how the story ends, and I have yet to see an MMO deliver in the story department. From what the trailers show, there is no story. You get online and play as a member of one of the two rival gangs in Hong Kong. How is that supposed to sell units? Shenmue was a popular game mainly because of its excellent storytelling. So, SEGA decided to drop the selling point of the series? I think I finally understand why the new Sonic games are so awful. Everyone at SEGA has become retarded. In regards to the story, isn't it based on a series of books? Were these books ever translated to English? Also, I feel the need to point out that none of my questions in this post are rhetorical. I would like answers to all of them. |

Those hardly count. Zero Mission was a remake, and Fusion was too linear to be a proper Metroid game. |
