Press Junketeer  Posts: 437 Joined: 2 Jun 2008    | mine would have to be the UK Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction advert. started of serious then just showed a montage of things exploding saying "blow it up" "blow it up again" "blow it up some more" which I just thought was quite original because at the time video game adverts were always so serious and usually unearthly pretentious. bit of a let down though considering the actually game was very beige, didn't contain that many explosions and had quite a depressing overall plot and feel. |

Muckraker  Posts: 325 Joined: 7 Jan 2008   | The Battlefield:BC Ads are great, as were the Halo 3 Ads (the one with MC as a child and the veteran museum), even if latter promised more than the game could. Also i remember seeing a Halo 1 ad where a cheap impersonator of George Bush adresses the viewer with the Words "The world is in great doo-doo", followed by gameplay scenes while from the off you hear fake-GWB talking about the aliens being "meanies" and how it's "time to kick thier ass" Also great, the bizarre but not-as-bizarre-as-the-david-lynch-one "Third Place" PS2 Spots. Maybe you can find them at Youtube under "I am the Wolfman" and "Red Balloon" |

And who doesn't love the Rachet and Clank commercials with the "real life" gadgets? (The one where the guy gets taken by the owl is priceless.) |
Muckraker Posts: 325 Joined: 7 Jan 2008 | I just remembered the PS1 Ads from "S.A.P.S." (Society Against Play Station) that warned the public about the severe damage that the Playstation 1 does. Campy, Cheesy, Stupid, but it was a nice idea, and still feels relevant today...(sadly) |

Descent 3. Oh god how I wish I sounded like that guy...like an EXTREME DON LAFONTAIIINNNNEEE!!! Planescape Torment, a shame though, some of the cgi portions of that video don't have ingame equivalents... Then after he got FF7 he didn't change them for like 5 months! Also the old PS2 commercial that showed the future Playstation 9 game spores that you inhaled for the ultimate game experience. |

I could find that, but this was a proper TV commercial, if only I could download videos from my mind... actually, forget that, don't want to give anyone nightmares. However, the life on the Playstation campaign comes a lose second sorry about the quality. |

My favourite is the Gears of War Mad world commercial because it wasn't the same old look at this flashy trailer kind of ad.
