Im not sure but I think that "we Yanks" are one of the only countries that drive on the right hand side of the road. so if anyone drives on the wrong side of the road its us. anyway I would like to see it in some European country that would be a nice change of pace. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 3334 Joined: 10 Mar 2008 | I'd say make it set in the fUtUrE!!!11!!! Think about it, even more freedom to do anything you want now that you have all of that empty space that is outer space! It would be awesome! |

Paperboy Posts: 21 Joined: 11 Jun 2008 | how about an MMO? make a big enough city and the game seems like a great setup for it since all the missions are pretty much grinding anyway |

well case in point. YOU drive on the wrong side of the road, let US drive on the correct side, and YOU have to get used to driving on the left, and wonder why you're heading into oncoming traffic. |

I actually live in Australia, just i live in the country so its either shrubs or dirt for me. On topic tho, Tokyo would also be a great place and having a girl as the main character would be interesting |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 4214 Joined: 29 Nov 2007 | I'd like to see one of Chicago, a completely landlocked city. Set in winter, so when you're not driving drunk, you're driving on ice! Then you can get drunk, and drive on ice! |

Like the average gamer actually obeys traffic laws between gunning down mobsters and looking for hos to pick up. I bobbed and weaved through traffic whether its GTA4 or The Getaway. As improved and symbolic as returning to Liberty was, I don't want to revisit a city simply because the tech can expand on it. Maybe because its the home country of "2 girls 1 cup," wild parties and capoeira, I'd like to see a Brazilian setting with a female protagonist. Not (just) because an attractive woman would be interesting, but also the franchise likes to go to different perspectives. There's been WASP-y White American guys, a Black guy, Mixed, Italian and the latest being Eastern European so if Rockstar can give us a woman that's not just a big-breasted bimbo and every bit as tough and anti-heroic as the last bunch, they're golden. |

Err...I don't mean to be the nerd, but Chicago has a waterfront connected to the Atlantic. Still, that would be very cool. What about the Bahamas? A change from all the grittiness. |
Paperboy Posts: 21 Joined: 9 May 2008 | not to be a buzz kill, but ive heard some of those areas down there are considered bad on good days, and hell on bad days...so depending on where you are, the grittiness could be in and out...which might not be a bad thing on second thought |

You talking about that river? Too bad that thing doesn't come into the city, you know, where GTA is usually centered. |
Beat Writer Posts: 136 Joined: 25 Apr 2008 | No, Lake Michigan. That big ass body of water right next to Chicago and is the reason it is the 3rd largest city in the US for it's port. You must be thinking of the Mississippi River. Hey! GTA: Mississippi! |
Beat Writer Posts: 142 Joined: 9 Jun 2008 | I'd really like to see the series go back in time; Irish immigration, the onset of the mafia, what have you. Think Gangs of New York, only you get to play as Daniel Day-Lewis. |

I think Rockstar is sorta doing this with LA Noire...though not that far back, and it's a crime drama. I'd like to see what they could do with a future setting...like a cyberpunk sort of city...iunno |
Paperboy Posts: 21 Joined: 9 May 2008 | oh if only i could play as Daniel Day-Lewis...that alone might merit game of the year... what about the old west? like Gun but with the GTA style and a city with more than 2 npc models... |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 3235 Joined: 20 Dec 2007 | SOMEONE MAKE A DANIEL DAY-LEWIS MOD AND INSERT CLIPS OF HIS MOVIES TO REPLACE DIALOGUE OF THE MAIN CHARACTER! DOOOOO IIIIT! I DON'T CARE WHICH GTA, IT WOULD BE AWESOME IN 3 AND UP!!! Seriously though I had to put that in all caps, that would be the best "main character mod" ever.
Well Far Cry 2 is your answer to "Africa" - unless you mean a more civilized area in Africa and not just it's natural beauty. I'd love to see it in Australia though - but there are a lot of actual real world places I'd love to see GTA in so it's hard to decide whether I'd take Australia over anything else. Maybe it shouldn't take place in Australia since most of the game would be heavily censored (har har har).
They tried and they failed (or so I heard).. -_- Rockstar Games made Red Dead Revolver, I haven't heard good things but I can't judge since I haven't played, but hey, figured I'd tell you since (in theory) it sounds like what you're looking for. |
