yes, but as our favorite sociopath taught us...theory is a dangerous thing. |

Actually, compared to most of the world, Brits do drive on the wrong side of the road. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traffic_directionality Also, GTA has been set in London, and it was the only real city to ever be featured in the series. I don't expect that to happen again, the games have become a satire for the absurdity of American life. The next GTA will probably be set in another American city look-alike or, more likely, in an area we've been to before. |

Except for the Lake and, you know, the CHICAGO River. Look at a map, or just drive in Chicago. The fact that the bridges over the river are all lift bridges, when combined with how awesome Chicago is as a city and the criminal back story in Chicago, the game would be awesome. Australia could be fun as could be the American southwest. London, the future and what not are all over done. And Africa would be too exciting either. Might as well make it a space-marine as the hero if you are going to do those things. |

Does Tokyo, Japan sound interesting at all though? When I think about it so far it would appeal to me the most, especially if Rockstar did it (assuming anyone else would, but you know what I mean!) because I can picture them making fun of the "Anime" mascots and those early beginner missions earning you 1 million yen, and hell the T.V. on GTA IV and that Comedy Club were "absurd" enough...have you at least seen clips of Japanese Television? Best mindless crap I've ever seen, I don't even speak Japanese and watching it is more entertaining than anything that plays here, and I'm one of those people who loves NatGeo channel and Discovery (and it's other networks). |

Opinion was varied. Some people really liked the game. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 3960 Joined: 30 Jan 2008 | As for the "Australia has too much desert" people, do you have any idea the proportion of desert there is in Nevada compared to the size of Las Vagas? They could just shrink the area between Sydney (finding John Howard and hitting him in the head with a brick), Melbourne, Brisbane (with a mission involving Yahtzee, possibly beating him to death with his hat), Canberra, Perth, Darwin and Adelaide, with ayers rock and a whole lot of big things (lie the Big Cock - a giant statue of a rooster that everyone refers to by its uncomfortable other name). Involve missions that include smuggling drugs to and from Bali (too soon?), smuggling prostitutes (sheep) into New Zealand (nah, just a joke, I know you guys don't fuck sheep. You prefer goats), battling for control of parts of the cities, and the different gangs within, that sort of thing. |

GTA has always had an undertone/overtone of sexuality and if you place the main character's gender in the female area then one of two things would probably happen. A. They would have to be lesbian. (Politically Correct idiots shut up.) B. She would have to be swishy. And C (I know I said two, but eh) some of the guys would have to have a gigilo(SP) type personality. In terms of location, perhaps a place like Tokyo would be good because it would probably be stock full of nice cars, interesting locals, and -interesting- characters. |

I do like the wide variety of choices in GTA IV, but frankly I find it rather monotonous taking your god-damn cousin every god-damn place under the god-damn sun. |

I don't get how we can't have a less obvious sexual undertone. There was nothing really in Nikos demeanour that was "all about the pussy", that was just left to the supporting characters. Its not like the same can't happen with a woman. It could also be a funny reversal on that frank sexism of games past, having a running gag of guys trying to hit on the main character, and her shooting them in the balls, both figuratively and.... |

Copy Clerk Posts: 54 Joined: 23 Jun 2008 | I'd love to see it being set in London, perhaps among an army of Kent Pauls (from GTA VC) >: D It'd actually be quite cool if the main character was female (preferably without breasts the size of texas)... Not many games do that |

Muckraker Posts: 229 Joined: 29 May 2008 | Future iterations could possibly be big enough to have 3 cities, in which case a global adventure could be on the cards! I say Tokyo, London and a new American city, all with interlinking stories. That would be sick. |

People seem to forget that in the first GTA you could be a female lead. In fact I think there was a couple you could be. |

Paperboy Posts: 37 Joined: 7 May 2008 | I dunno where people are actualyl coming up with suggestions for REAL places... GTA will has never, and I really doubt it will ever, be set in a real place (San Andreas doesn't really count IMO) It could be BASED off a city in the UK (Glasgow or London :D) Or maybe Tokyo. |

Paperboy Posts: 16 Joined: 6 Jul 2008 | I'd like the next GTA to be set somewhere in continental Europe, but I think that's unlikely. It'll almost certainly be set in America again. And I like the idea of a female protagonist. |

I couldn't say about the house, but Las Vegas could be a lot of fun. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 125 Joined: 21 Jun 2008 | someone said new orealens(sp?) that sounds like a cool idea. i mean if u use the idea where someone who was a normal everyday citzen that had to become a crimnal because the goverement let them down after the hurricane came through. it have a chance to be the most human story in GTA game. the idea of toyko is pretty cool too. the only problem with that is as densely poupulated as toyko is im not sure u could do it justice but then again there arent 100's of ppl on the street in GTA4. plus poor people in toyko dont have cars from what ive seen the walk alot and depend alot on mass transit. so itd take some of the grand theft auto out of GTA. still i think it could work |

Las Vegas. It would be awesome to do a drive-by on my own house.
