In Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes (snicker), the very familiar scene from the original MGS where Solid Snake must duel Sniper Wolf over Meryl's half-dead body is faithfully recreated, with extras, simply because back then the game engine couldn't handle Solid Snake's pure testosterone.

After defeating Sniper Wolf and approaching her hideout, guards rush out to capture Snake. In the original, he was surrounded and put his hands up while Wolf taunted him. In Twin Snakes, he engaged the entire group with leet CQC, beating the tar out of about four armed guards. At the end, he had one in a headlock, one in a knee-lock, one knocked out on the ground, and another guy held up with his own gun (I think). He notices a small red dot on his chest, however, and sees Sniper Wolf walking up. After releasing the guards, one of them whips Snake in the back of the head. Snake turns around and looks at the guard, with the most venom-filled "You, sir, are next" stare a heartless mercenary can manage. The guard almost pees his pants, then Snake faints.

I lol'd.

in Psychonauts, when you enter the Milkman mind, it's hard to pick a favorite part of that game, but I did

God yes, the G Men are awesome.

Half Life 2: Episode 2. Specifically, Magnusson. When he tells you to clear out the silo, wait in the room with him. After a while he asks "What are you waiting for, Freeman? A hug?" That instantly made me love him.

Favorite moment was when I was playing in Halo 3 and the bullet ricocheted three times netting me a triple kill everyone that saw it said in unison "What the fuck just happened!?"

Ugh, why do these thread titles always get named with this extremist standard? Just phrase it for what it is, name a particular moment that a game made you laugh. Not THE EBSTST EVAR time, just any particular time.

The last time a game really got a gut-buster out of me was the first episode of the 2nd season of Sam & Max. The little rat guy is up on the roof threatening to commit suicide when Max yells out, "Don't jump! I should be the one who kills you!"

The elevator sequences in Mass Effect. Why? Well, it takes a while for the elevator to get to the next floor in that game. While I wait, I normally sing Paula Cole's song "I Don't Want To Wait" or any other song, I think it would be funny to see the characters sing.

Can i ask what the hell are you on about? No one has said anything like that. I wouldnt say the word "funniest" is an extremist word.

Funny.
Funnier.
Funniest. As in, no more, not possible to be funnier. The best.

I'm not trying to insult you, we all do it. The best character in a game, the most "oh shit" moment, best gun, worst NPC. There is always this element that whatever one writes, one considers it to be the best possible. Which goes on to imply something can't do it just as well, or that it could never be outdone. You're welcome to write this off as me being neurotic about language, I know you didn't mean it this way but I don't get why people phrase these things like competitions instead of just communal sharing of observations.

Sorry for singling this thread out, I could've just as easily posted it anywhere else.

Darn, I was going to say that.

Oblivion, when you kill something with an enchanted weapon and it flies away and starts having a seizure.

The cherubs on doom 3 made me laugh. I don't know why but every time I see them I just laugh in their half-toddler faces.

On Halo 2, on Ascension, the place where the Banshee spawns, I was trying to butt a guy, and he was running backwards, and fell of the edge! Was so awesome, especially as he didn't start falling immediately (like in cartoons).

Well, there's my favorite quote in Portal...
Also, that awesome exchange in the beginning of the first Resident Evil game.

"Jill, what is it?"
Awkward pause.
"Look out! It's a monster!"

Classic. Then there's anything and everything that the King of All Cosmos says when you screw up. Who knew that someone could be such a bastard to his own son?

Dead Rising, with Yakety Sax playing in the background.
GTA 4, playing with just music.

EDIT: Not exactly funny, but I was playing co-op army of two with a friend on the Afghanistan levels, we just landed our parachute for the first time and killed numerous insurgents. We thoufght we had taken them all down, I turn around to look at my friend, just about to show off my pimped p90, when just then a martyr terrorist runs straight behind him, about to blow up, in an instant I said: Look out, took the shot and nailed the bastard right in the head, directly over my friend's shoulder, a pretty badass gaming moment, I must say.

I'll have more later....

A little bit ago, back on the mutliplayer online Haze demo. Me and my bud were hosting a match on a PS3 and we got all nerfed up on Nectar and started beating the shit out of one of our teammates. He kept reviving him and I kept punching him, one hit kill with nectar.

It was inexplicably hilarious.

Scripted: No-One Lives Forever 2. You glimpse this sinister assassin figure in a huge coat, who seems to glide along the ground rather than walking. Eventually, you unmask him and he turns out

Or there's the boss fight against the master ninja, which takes place

I need to play that game again....

Well yeh, you defined the word "funniest" as in not possible to be funnier.
Now taking it in the context of a forum topic title about games it seems pretty self explanatory that i want to know what other people considor to be the funniest moment in a game.

I have no idea what your actual problem is? I didnt want nor did i expect people to all agree on one moment in one game, and that didnt happen. If your saying that no one can have can considor one moment of gaming the "funniest" even to themselves then you are an imbecile.

Pretty much every line from a Resident Evil game is poorly translated hilarity.

Almost every second of Psychonauts.

Oddworld: Munches Oddysee. That game was absolutely hilarious.

And pretty much anything HK-47 said in KOTOR was pure comedy gold.

And of course, Portal.

I would have to say Half Life 2:Episode one. The game has this problem, where if you are directly in the path of anyone, they will shunt you to the side. Alyx Vance pushed me off of a cliff within ten minutes of starting a new game.

This happened 3 minutes ago:

I had only just reinstalled GTA San Andreas since I actually want to finish it this time (I'm somehow not getting the 'Breaking the bank at Caligula's' mission even though I meet all pre-requisites... I still can't start it now :s), and my pretty muscular CJ hops into a car together with, err... that Spanish guy from the garage.

I put the radio on the 'User Track' thingamajig, wondering what music I had put there over a year ago, the last time I'd played the game.
First thing I hear were people shouting MOSKAU MOSKAU. I laughed out loud; Genghis Khan singing Moskau was SO wrong, but it made driving around so much more fun

Bully was pretty funny. One part that I remember was a running joke about the rich kids marrying their cousins and being inbred. This one you talk to gets really pissed off and defensive and says "Cousins are LEGAL!"

Some of the renegade shenanigans in Mass Effect - punching out the reporter, "It's a big, stupid jellyfish!" stuff like that was pretty funny.

And No One Lives Forever sounds hilarious.

Totally agree. So hard to pick a favorite, but that has to be the best.

In Halo 2 when you're down in the city and the scarab blows up the tank and one of the Marines goes "See this look? It's TERROR" and his commanding officer goes "Marine, did I give you permission to bitch!?" That made me lol.

The funniest thing i can remember atm was Halo 3 i splattered a guy on rat's nest then went to turn into the main area in the middle of the map and saw a gravlift. SO as i was driving the warthog i charged at it thinking "YAY Crashy time!" BUT i took off went over a platform in the middle and splattered some poor sod and landed perfectly.

And yes i did save it =D

Also the gunner with me got out as soon as we landed and ran away xD

Lugaru. Leg cannon.

I mean, in how many games can you kick someone so they fly 200 feet backwards into a stone wall cracking it in slow motion, and then slowly fall down to the ground?

To emulate Gigantor, the following words induce a Pavlovian reaction in anyone who's played an Elder Scrolls game: The Lusty Argonian Maid. That charming little book that's so often found in the game.

In the Unearthing Mehrunes' Razor quest for Oblvion, you can find a reciept for the commander.

Some Daedric Gobbeldy-Gook: 2500dr
The Lusty Argonian Maid: 15dr

I sniggered. There was sniggering involved.

Conker's Bad Fur day:

The introduction of Greg.
There's plenty of other things in the game, but Greg is the stand out.

in resident evil 4, when you are outnumbered and you go behind a door and wait with the shotgun.... its fucking brilliant!
they start banging on the door then they open it and you see them with both arms in the air, you blast them with it and they fly out and the door shuts again.
