You mainly just play them to enjoy the novelty of simplistic gameplay with a nostalgic Lego theme and funny cutscenes (the humor is pretty good in some of them). For my money, the best place for the lego games is the handhelds. My brother and I recently picked up Lego Star Wars Complete Saga for our DS's right before a plane trip, and were able to play co-op on the Wi-fi during the flight. It was really fun. The game somehow loses something when put on the next-gen systems though. Even as I'm playing it there, I'm thinking that this isn't what these systems are for. - J |

Pretty much this. It can get tedious though since there is no dialogue, but the pantomimed scenes can be fun. If the gameplay were faster paced then it wouldn't feel as staid, but would lose some of the friendliness it strives for. |

That said, I have one huge gripe with that game: Infinitely respawning enemies. I can't think of a single damn game where infinitely respawning enemies weren't annoying and unnecessary, and this game certainly didn't change my mind. A lot of times I would be trying to look for secrets, or even just use the fucking force on something, but I kept dying because the infinitely respawning enemies wouldn't leave me alone to do it. |

It is funny and looks identical to the PS2 version and you get to play it on the go which is wonderful. The game offers a surprising number of hours of gameplay and is easy enough to pick up and play weeks after having last played it. If you have a PSP, it is a must buy. |

when I was a kid all I ever wanted was legos, when we went to a store with toys it was straight to the lego aisle...now...now they ruined legos with their nickolodian crap and Bionicles (they were cool at first...) But I love lego star wars 2 and want to play lego indiana jones but quite frankly could care less about lego batman |
Paperboy Posts: 11 Joined: 12 May 2008 | Lego star wars rocks! I have since dug out, made and played with incessantly my lego x-wing and snowspeeder models. Childish? Yes. Fun? Hell Yes. However, the best lego game in existance is Lego Rock Raiders. You get typical lego humour driven by the Dungeon Keeper engine (which makes it awesome automatically) with rock monsters and vehicle mounted mining lasers. What more could you want? |

I would take a bullet for 8mg of cellulose acetate. |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 618 Joined: 10 Sep 2007 | I found these games astoundingly meh. I cannot understand how so many people rave about them so much. How are they fun? The combat is poor, the platforming is floaty, and the vehicle sections are awful. The hell is going on? Is the secret to making commercially and critically successful games infinite lives and nostalgia, or something? |

Have you played Mario? |
Muckraker Posts: 265 Joined: 27 Mar 2008 | I heartily recommend the Lego Star Wars games- everyone likes them. I have the original trilogy games on my GBA and love 'em. They're so whimsical and fun, plus... well, you know, throwing lightsabres is always fun. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 3303 Joined: 21 Jan 2008 | I unfortunately haven't played them, but I've heard good things from a friend who has. I think I'll pass since it's not my thing. |
Are the Lego games any good? I thought I might try one out but I figured I would ask first before renting. Also, if it is any good, what's the best console to play on?
