And of course there is Trespasser, which is a Jurassic Park game in all but name- an FPS with you on an island full of dinosaurs. |

Any time I see someone say "Bad Form" or "Poor Form" I always have this epic flashback to 'Hook' man I loved that movie....they could spiff that up and give it an R rating (add some blood, maybe a boob) and tell the darker side of peter pan....that would make an awesome movie Oops..got off topic. Sorry about that. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1177 Joined: 26 Mar 2008 | It will be nice to see Max Payne soon and how Bioshock is developed. I'd love to see a game based off a Sam Peckinpah movie like The Wild Bunch (1969) or Cross of Iron (1977). Cross of Iron could make a nice game and it would be nice to have a solid first person shooter that showed WW2 from a German perspective with gritty realism that showed the madness of war. Going the other way i would like to see Hidden & Dangerous turned into a movie, could be great movie showing the birth of the Special Air Service in North Africa with the Long Range Desert Group and later the battle for europe. |

Yeah, it plays like second life, until suddenly you get abducted and locked in an elaborate death trap... possibly involving furries... |

I kept jokingly suggesting this in the "Next GTA setting" forum, but nobody got the joke. Anyway, I think it'd be better as a mix of "Old School Adventure" game and "GTA-Style Car Chases" since I'd never want to drive anything but the Blues Mobile (read Stripped Down Police Cruiser). |

Oh yeah, thats another one... don't know how i forgot it... There's that John Woo game which might as well be based on a film, it does feature Chow Yun Fat's character from Hard Boiled. I've never played it though, so no idea if its any good or not... |

Yes, I totally agree! I think an awesome movie-turned-game would be an anime called Ninja Scroll. It could be a third-person action game where you play as Jubei, and maybe as Kagero and Dakuan in some parts. The Eight Devils of Kimon would make for amazing boss fights! |
Copy Clerk Posts: 97 Joined: 11 Mar 2008 | It's been said already. Also my other choice has been said, 'Akira'. Mmmmmm if only i could plug my brain into a USB port and code a game with my thoughts. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 61 Joined: 7 Jul 2008 | I would say a nice Hellraiser game, but when ever Barker's name gets near videogame production, something horrible goes wrong. Maybe something based off Event Horizon, Virus, and Bladerunner (yes I know it's been thrown out there, but i still love it) Maybe someone could revive the old 80's-90's slasher genra, but instead of beating the bad guy, you are the bad guy. Being Vorhee's slashing up teenagers in the woods, or Mike Myers getting trick or treaters, or warping dreams like Krueger could be an interesting game. |

There's been two I can remember : The Quest for the Holy Grail adventure and a sideways sh'mup on the 64/Amiga. |
Anonymous Source Posts: 9 Joined: 20 Sep 2007 | I don't want to see any movie made into a game ever again. Why? Because it's pointless. No game has ever been better because of a movie license. If anything it's the opposite. Licences hampers the creativity of the developers and in worst case makes them lazy because they know the licence will generate a higher number of sales even if they don't put as much effort in. Besides for any movie genre there are a bunch of unlicenced games that are in almost every case better then their licenced counterparts. |

Perhaps, but have you never wanted to interact with the world of a movie? I know i have. Sin City could work quite well, you wouldn't have to play as one of the film/comic characters, maybe as a new character who happens to have their own story interweaving the main ones (i think this is why Bladerunner worked so well, personally, but thats just my opinion, natch.) |

Imma agree with ninja about Sin City for the visuals alone, though Tatsuya Miyami's "Mad World" might have that covered:

"Wanted" would be cool. . . ish, if they had a unique bullet-curving mechanic.
but wtvr.
