Bah, the reason I bought my Xbox 360 was because of Halo 3. I buy a console because of it's games, not the other way around. In the same light, I don't actually intend to buy Fable 2. I'll see if I can live without it, and buy POP and BiA instead. |

No harm no foul my good man. I merely posted a defense as I didn't wish to lose "E-Face." And good call on the load times, I hadn't even considered them. Blasted work schedule ruining my focus. It really would go both ways, for me anyway. I "suffered," and still do I guess since I'm currently replaying FF IX, the disc swap. And that install for GTA IV didn't leave much to be desired. But once it was done, it ended up pretty alright. Same thing for MGS4. I actually enjoyed the theatrical nature of MGS4. And the load times weren't really that bad. I think we've all accepted our fates when it comes to load times. More gaming power, next gen in general, more loading. I'd like to say "I agree with the idea of Blu Ray speeds being increased at some time." But then I'd still be talking about the PS3 and it's POTENTIAL. As I've stated: Love the PS3. But I think myself, and my fellow PS3 owners, want to see this potential knocked soundly out of the park. Coming up on my second year of owning a 60 gig, a great system shame they shot themselves in the foot, and it sucks that I still have to remind people it's fully backwards compatible (an incredible feature though!) I guess I saw FF as an exclusive as a way for Sony to turn the world's head towards it, for a positive thing, and make everyone stop and say "Whoa!" (Joey from "Blossom" style, not Keanu style.) Am I a little bitter? Sure sure, mostly at Sony though. But I guess the most important thing is to remember is: It's a game, and games are made for gamers. Regardless of race, console or disc read speed. |

Frankly, I'd miss Sony if they had to exit the game after this gen (I really don't think it'll happen). I loved the PS2, and still fire it up for KH once in a while. They were good at offering fun and 'out there' games, and ended up catering to both the 'hardcore' and 'casual' market. This gen though, they got cocky, and it bit them in the arse. There's nothing really wrong with the PS3, and I'd actually considered getting one though (when I was a rabid PS2 fanboy), but ended up getting the Xbox 360 because it was cheaper and it had Halo, Gears, Fable, as well as the fact I preferred its controller. None of the games really appealed to me on the PS3 (except for KH3), so yeh, not really something I'd wish to spend $1000 on. Hopefully, Sony announces something awesome at E3, and everything can go back to normal. |

If you read it, you'd know that the 360 get's 16 mb's persecond, whereas the ps3 get's 9. That is a difference of 7 megabytes per second, and yes, that is about 5 seconds. Also the ps3 has the supierior graphics chip and proccessor. Wikipedia.org is your friend mate. |

I got one from a friend for a few days when MGS4 got released and I'll probably gonna do the same thing for GoW 3, but other than that... No games there I'm really looking forward to. XBox on the other hand has Alan Wake, Gears, Halo, Fable,... Correct me if there are any important exclusive releases for the PS3 I missed. |

I definitely agree with you there. On pretty much the whole thing, although I prefer the PS controller due to it's similarity to the SNES one and I did decide to shell out the $600 for my console. And I really, REALLY wanted to play Legend of Legaia again. Amongst a plethora of other titles for the PS1. I hope they announce something stellar as well. As much as I want all console users to get along, I also want something everyone can really be proud of that they specifically own. The PS3 is expensive, but all this gaming stuff costs a lot. More than just getting along, I want everyone to be content too. Which I think Sony's only really left us PS3 buyers with a lack of that feeling. I'm thoroughly pleased with the backwards compatibility. But I can only wander the countryside in Assassin's Creed and Oblivion for so long. I can only jump into a random game of utter mayhem in Resistance so many times. And, in all seriousness, I could still crash into walls and bury pedestrians mercilessly for 2 hours a day instead of the usual 4. I want this loss of a potentially stellar exclusive to light a real fire under Sony's creative ass. Because, let's face it, they're on the chopping block...and it's shaped like a 360 with a Wii Mote waiting to come crashing down in, what the user HOPES will register as, a functioning downward motion. Fight on Sony! |

More like...Duke Nukem NEVER! Har har...har? I made myself sad. =(. I really want a new Duke Nukem game. |

That's a bit harsh. It's getting released sooner or later. Remedy just want to surprise people and we'll most likely see Alan Wake at TGS this year, so I think it counts. |

I'm not saying the PS3 is dead or anything like that but no one can deny that this wasn't a bad move for sony, but no one can deny that 360 users are happy that they won't miss out on an exclusive. I expect that in the near future Mario will become PC exclusive, and Duke Nukem Forever will have a specific release date down to the very minute that it is shipped. |
Anonymous Source Posts: 3 Joined: 14 Jul 2008 | i dont have a PS3 but a 360 im a fan of the final fantasy series ever since i started with 7 i didnt buy the ps3 because of the exclusives even with this move to the 360 will spread the sales to both sides (srry wii) of course im happy it moved but these moves are making me still neglect to buy a ps3... so if Sony doesnt stick up for themselfs and say We want this game well thats their issue... either way im still buying it so SquareSoft will be happy xD |

No. I have no interest in buying Gran Turismo 5, despite how fan-fucking-tastic the graphics look, because I don't like racing games. |

This is probably waaay off topic, but I was thinking while trolling this thread, do people feel obliged do buy games for a certain console because they bought it?
