Hi.
I've been playing games for a while now, and I've hit a problem. I'm stuck in a rut. The only two games I play with any frequency are TF2 and CS:S, which cannot be good for my health.
Maybe it's time for some new games...
Could anyone suggest some really good ones that would rekindle my love for gaming?

New Genre. Always recommend that to someone in a rut. Figure out the genres you play the least and then find a game that fits your taste in style and go for it. Be brave, try something new.

It's why my catalog ranges from Patapon to Gears of War... Rez to Medieval 2: Total War.

Variety is the spice of life.

a good slow thinking game is Civ4, or if you have a next gen system, Civ Revolutions.

Red Orchestra. Get it via Steam. Realistic FPS.

Nice one jeffers, it's what gave me the idea for the title.
But yeah, I'm mostly playing FPSes, but I am extremely open to any title in any genre provided it comes with a heartfelt guarantee of quality.

Civ4. Seriously. And get the two expansion packs for it. Sooooo much replayability w/ or w/out mods.

Or try Company of Heros. But if you want to stay in the FPS genre, try Cod4.

Just, whatever you do, do NOT "try" WoW. It will become your life!

Sound advice, just a little late. Although I am proud to declare that it's been about a year since I kicked the WoW habit.
Damn that game was like crack.
It seems people are mostly suggesting strategy games. So Civ4 gets definate approval from everyone? What about games in other genres?

for strategy games i'd also like to throw out the total war series, especially Rome or Medieval 2. those are godly games. probably the deepest and most difficult strategy games i ever played, and probably ate up more of my life than any other gaming experience i have had.

as for other genres... well i'm an RPG nut, so if you don't mind some buggy gaming (a lot of which got fixed by a dedicated community) i HIGHLY recommend Vampires: the masquerade-bloodlines. Brilliant environment, story, and gameplay. one of the few games that told you that you could talk through missions, then actually let you do it!
