Copy Clerk Posts: 117 Joined: 24 Apr 2008 | Video games, video games, video games, games, GAMES! The ones that really sucked me out of my social life were: GTA San Andreas, Kingdom Hearts 1-2 (even now I have an urge to play 'em!), Orange Box (any sane person would be addicted to that!), Oblivion (yay...), Fable TCL and more or less every FF game I've played (not many :P). Kinda makes me wonder why the LONG, GOOD and addictive games are becoming extinct... or maybe I'm not that blessed because I refuse to spend 10000000 euros to buy a current gen console... feh! PS:
That's one of the worst things that Video games may do to you, if you're not careful! For me it was about 2 years before I realized this... |

Yup me too. Only two games that have had me so incredibly immersed in them that I completed them in a ludicrous amount of time have been Oblivion and GTA IV. Just because both had pretty good stories and I was given the chance to really get into the game. |

Copy Clerk Posts: 92 Joined: 18 Jul 2008 | My younger years were lost completely to the original Zelda and FF games on my nintendo. College was lost to Quake on my PC and Mario Cart on my N64... nobody and I mean nobody EVER beat my lap times on any board... I'm serious... ever. Grad school actually required some attention unfortunately but I remember several lengthy Halo sessions at my friends house that turned into weekend long binges. Right now its a mix of COD4 all nighters abusing snotty kids which was only recently slowed down by a massive dose of MGS4 that has persisted since its release. Now that game is crazy addictive... |

I also played the original Bionic Commando for days and days strait, always loved the end when you blew up Hit...er, uhm...Master D. |

Paperboy Posts: 12 Joined: 29 Jun 2008 | S.T.A.L.K.E.R - Shadow Of Chernobyl took over my life for a while. Though, interestingly, it gave a bit back - I didn't know a great deal about the Chernobyl disaster to start with, so I did a bit of research while I was starting up playing it. A few months later and I'm doing a physics research paper, so I thought I might as well use the research and interest I'd gained from S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Ended up getting 95% \o/ |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1757 Joined: 10 Mar 2008 | MGS4 when I got it, played it non-stop for a week. Unfortunately i beat it :'( But overall, every single Ratchet and Clank game, I just cannot put the controller down when I play those games and as a result the games always end too soon for me. |

Same thing happened to me, but when Sonic Adventure 2 came out, chao raising invaded my thoughts for 4 years. Cute little soul-suckers -_- |
Muckraker Posts: 231 Joined: 8 Jul 2008 | The most recent one of mine is GTA 4, or at least it would be if my brother hadn't stolen the 360, the one that had me the longest was Guitar Hero 3, I was completely addicted. In fact no, neither of those compare to how long I've been playing Pokemon, I picked up Pokemon Silver and went on to play and beat ALL of the games, except the spin-offs like puzzle league. I was nuts. |

Final Fantasy XI. Even though I don't really "play" it a lot, I'm pretty much always logged in chatting with friends and linkshell(guild) members. And since there's a new form of leveling that doesn't involve sitting around waiting for a party invite for 2 hours, then building said party for another hour, and then partying for an hour, I can play it a lot more safely now. Like, now I can just log in, get some good experience points, and then log out whenever I want or have to.
