I think its a nice boxart, its simple and does it job. The powerful colour grabs your attention and the 4 fingers re-enforces the title.

You wanna know what the worst game title is? Tube Sliders for the gamecube. Its supposed to be some futuristic racing game, but with a title like that... you just can't concentrate.

This is ridiculous. Predicting a game will be bad simply because of abstract grammar is stupid and ignorant. If you had done some research on the game and presented a valid argument as to why you think it will be lack lustre that would be fine but critisizing it for the title? Grow up.

Agreed. I never said the game would be bad because of the title. I think the game will be bad for other reasons after watching trailers etc. Zombie games is a pretty flooded market and i dont know if valve has what it takes to cut into it.

Mass Effect is a pretty bad title when you think of it. I know it refers to Element Zero and all that jazz, but what is that title going to say to the average random person who grabs the box off the shelf? It sounds like a physics treatise or something.

Ive never liked any of the names in the MGS franchise (character names aswell). All so cheesy

Okay for what its worth I dont see the big damn deal in all this. It is a fantastic game and Left For Dead sound kinda but Left 4 Dead looks much better. It also ties into the story which was a smart plan because of the 4 characters and so representing the world for. I think it was a odd use for a forum and I dont think it 1337 Cause who the hell understands that AND If you do honostly your embarrissing your self.

I think Left 4 Dead is actually a very appropriate title.
- The Left lets you know you are like the last people standing
- The 4 lets you know you know you have a team of four
- The Dead lets you know it involves zombies and ending up dead
- Taken all together, Left For Dead, its a phrase we a familiar with as meaning your chances are close to nil and it means the players who are left are pretty much owned by or intended for the dead.

As a title goes, its pretty good for all the imagery those words bring on, with just enough of a twist with the For being switched out for 4.

Are Dead Rising, Diary of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead considered a bad titles as well? *shrug* As far as being zombie genre related, they all seem to play with similar titles.

Its not like the title is some monstrosity like this:

That it's the third game in The Elder Scrolls series and Morrowind is involved in the plot.

What does The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past tell you about the game? Next to nothing (you can infer that it's a Zelda game). But I wouldn't call it a bad title.

Left 4 Dead is like a text message or something. For that matter Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. is a pretty bad title as well. But I think H.A.W.X. is a mercenary group.

If in fact you were speaking to me: you said we were predicting that the game would be bad based on its title. In reality we were saying that the title was bad, not talking at all about the game itself.

As much as I hate 'texting'/'internet' language, it's a pretty average name. I could've been worse, it could have been 'Zombies Source Mod'.

I personally eternally fail this. 'Left 4 Dead' is an awesome name, look at it on a game box. It's bound to be cool. If you want a crap name, go see "Dog Island."
