If you are a Ps3 owner this looks to be one of the most interesting releases in the future.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4nxx4nPXEE.

Looks interesting, but the command system will be a screw up i recon because people don't care about there squads or support them in my experience, (2142, Bf 2).

is this sonys game secret?

If it works I will buy the M.A.G special 1337 PS3 bundle.

I could imagine what the squads would be like.

Imagine, 3 teams of snipers, teams of scouts, teams of assaut, teams of medics.

Now the commanders would tell some of his snipers to go there and fire at will.

There is the issue of one person wanting to be the hero, but hopefully people will get past their selfish natures and actually team up to defeat the enemy.

MAG has enourmous potential (no pun intended) but it could easily screw up and i hope it doesn't.

Sony is actually trying to soften us up - train us, even - into working efficiently in an 8 man squad. How are they doing this? The Resistance 2 Co-op of 8 players.

So Sony is in cahoots with the Military? OF COURSE, it almost makes sense now!

This is either going to be ultra-awesome or an epic fail. I'm hoping for the former. It's good for gaming.

Did I say you actually were drunk? I just wrote off incoherent phrases as coming from someone who was pissed while typing.

And where did drugs come from? Even though it is classified as a drug, Alcohol is technically a poison.

Could be worse. Wardevils still saying 2010. Which I am not liking that much.

(The date, that is. The game looks sweet)

I think Wardevil was made for the sole purpose of contesting Forever for the Vaporware award. They just thought up an awesome title (Wardevil : Unleash the Beast Within. Just saying it makes you feel manlier) and then just sat on their arses.

It looks good, and I hope it succeeds. It'd be awesome if they pull it off... I mean, come on, a skirmish of 256 players?! Awesome!

Just thought of something. It looks like MAG is sorta of a RTS from the eyes of the solider.

One thing I noticed from the trailer is that it seemed to show the chain of command going past squad leaders. I wonder if one person is selected as the "general" and has to come up with the overall stratagy or if that is just the game that tells the squads where to go.

That might be one of the weirdest concepts I've heard (I didn't say bad, I said weird). So, instead of a player commanding an army of computer controlled grunts, a computer controls an army of player controlled grunts. Now it sounds freaky.

As far as I can tell, each squad has a particular duty to ensure the war effort - escort in supplies, take out a base, destroy a bridge, that sort of thing. Beyond that, I've no idea.

Sounds like Resistance 2's multiplayer. The computer tells the squads to defend or attack something and the players follow the orders.

Thats my impression, yeah. The main difference will be a larger scale and a your playing affecting your characters growth. (And I also have a suspected idea about changing battles - i.e. one squads failure means everyones goals are re-shifted)

I'm interested to see how they would implement the leveling up system, especially how to make it balanced enough so that everyone has a fair chance of defeating the oponent.

Also, hopefully the skills wont take to long or too quick to level up (I.E. MGO >_>; )

Now I'm scared they're biting off more than they can chew (all that and a launch in 2009 must have been kept a secret for a long time or something.).

EDIT: No matter how much work they put in it will be messed up by 12 year olds.
