Has anyone seen real (as opposed to CG) screens for this yet? Bear in mind I cannot access YouTube from this PC.

There is one screen on the playstation blog which is in game.

Could the PS3 fanboy and the Xbox 360 fanboy stop flaming eachother?

Indigo_Dingo,
We know you like the PS3 and how you think resistance is awesome.
Now please shut up about it already, there is too much fanboyism is in every single post you type.

I'll stop when people play the fucking thing, instead of complaining that theres nothing like it on the market.

I'll join in a sonyfanboy. Ps3fanboyisticgasm is a word guys eat it. Further on indingo doesn't get mean unless someone hypes up the 360 and then bash the ps3 when the ps3 is overall better.

Also I hate when people talk about the price of a ps3 when it contains a blu-ray player in it for very little cost which is making sony lose money. Seriously the one I could get for my comp is fucking 130$.. So be nice to sony atleast they half care for their customers.

And don't bring up customer support implying that you broke it. Seriously if a ps3 broke its almost always your fault. These things are like tanks...They take a lot of punishment to put them down.

Hmmm, looks good, as far as you can say a game 'looks good' judging by one in-game screenshot, so it still has some convincing to do if Sony want me to buy their black box. Cheers chaostheory.

Its not a box more like a tank when compared to the 360..

Come to think of it, why is it called the Xbox 360? Its no longer a box, and it doesn't have an X on it. The Playstation 3 is still a play station (Like your PC is a work station), but he 360 has no linkage to the Xbox. Also, unless it were shaped like a damn circle, it has nothing to do with the number 360.

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet". Its just a name, Xbox is what the Microsoft Corpartion calls their series of game consoles like the Sony Vaio. (360 was because if they called it the Xbox 2 it would sound inferior against the Playstation 3)

Maybe to you. At least 360 doesn't have incidents like Sony's E3 2005 and E3 2006.

How is the awesome killzone trailer a bad incident in the conference?

And it's good to laugh at yourself sometimes, RIIIIIGGGDEDEEE RAAAACCCERRRRRR!!!!

Sony was way better this year, they actually showed the games and not just shared games either, most if not 90% were exclusives.

Wait, so it's a bad thing that the trailer is going to be exactly what the game is going to be only now that the developers had time to work on it more it's going to be better?

Or do you mean "wuznt"?

Sorry I though 1337 talk would come off as sarcastic. The game still doesn't look as good as the E3 2005 trailer.

You know, RvB is known quite well in Australia... I, along with quite a few of my friends (the ones into gaming), do know of the series, even the ones that own PS3s.

I was going more along the lines of the drunk quote, which seems quite accurate.

Though I have yet to meet more then three people who know about RvB, and less who actually watch the show well enough to know the so-called "universal quote".

This is over the span of a few years... Though I proved my point with "friends" just like he proved his point with "friends", so it's like trying to say "Germany is awesome because Jack and Jill gets high", the numbers are too low to speak anything. Get a poll together, asking people if they know of RvB, or better yet, just ask them if they know of that specific "universal quote" without mentioning RvB... and we'll start to talk numbers... =p

Right... PS3 fanboys and 360 fanboys shut the fuck up right now! Indigo, you love the PS3, that's great, we get the picture! You don't need to start bragging about it and Resistance in every single thread! You don't need to make unquantifiable statements about online multiplayer using 'your experiences' as 'evidence'!

Shatnershaman, you love Halo, that's great, we get it! You even have an avatar of MC, that's cool. But you don't need to bring Halo into every single thread! Halo is not the be-all and end-all. It has nothing to do with MAG, so keep it out of the thread.

Can we please go back on-topic, and try to keep this civil!?

<CHEER> Well said

Back on topic:

I think the game has some serious potential. It looks gritty and realistic. I think i might get this one depending on more footage and a decent review.

Ok, I think we need to find some ways to lay down a set of rules of indicate sarcasm over the internet, so people can tell when I'm being serious, and when I'm being mocking.

Anyway, to get back on topic...

Do you think that, in addition to having one player put in a leadership role, there will also be other sub-dutys of all the players? Say, one medical officer, and one explosive expert, who the others will need to protect for the objective to be successful?

my only concern is in how fluid the animation will be. considering the amount of data being transferred in these massive games, i doubt the animation is going to be fluid since it will ramp up and down based on the connection speed of other users...

now, if 10% of players have crappy connections, it's less noticable when you have a 20 player game, since you'll only notice 2 people who glitch around. but now apply that 10% to 200 people, and you could have an entire squad of 20 glitchy players.

if you walked into the right grouping of people, the game would look like crap.

What i'm worried is that what ever system they use to organize all the players and objectives, that it will become too complicated.

It would be so organized that it would turn complicated and it would be more of a Army Simulator than a game if it isn't that already.

Its that line in the sand, of how realistic a simulation should be before it stops being "fun" and starts being "work"

in real life, the military handles logistics. a sim like experience would be a series of my examples with small brief uneventful excersions into the city. maybe a firefight twice a month.

given the premise, i doubt that any game design would even begin to approach a sim-like experience. and with that many players in one game, they are probably going to design the levels and scenarios to maximize casualties and action.

that sounds right, although I assume they're going to make skirmishes slightly less frequent, to allow better preparation and such.
