Well i'm a fanboy of the ps3 cause M$ finally pissed me off as to switch. Now as far as shatner goes he has said hes a fanboy and me and him argue in a very illogical/logical manner. It adds flavor to threads.

Conflict is the spice of life (try watching a movie without it, boring).

Don't get me wrong, the first game ever WAS a multiplayer game but it seems like developers these days feel like they're obligated to include some form of multiplayer on their games these days. I don't care how fun a game is to play with your freinds and neither do a lot of people, and developers shouldn't tack something one a game just because the fans want it. Look at Half-life2, Chronicles of Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay, and Oblivion, all exellent games and none of them needed multiplayer.

It's probably cheaper to make multi-player games because a you only need to make a dozen or so maps and thats it where as a campaign would require many more.

But for good Solo games
Mass Effect is longer than 9-hours and Pretty replayable
Overlord
Crackdown
TES4:Oblivion
Beautiful Katamari
Assassin's creed
Dead Rising
The Orange Box(TF2 excepted)

All of these are excellent games that are solo-oriented and I enjoyed all of them

There's probably more but those are ones that I actually own.

But I do understand your position, I play on live but while multi-player can be great it should be taking a backseat to the single-player portion, rather than the current state of things, where the campaign is little more than an extended tutorial.

Shadow Tyrant:
So everyone is raving about these fantastic awesome super fabulous games like Gears of War, Call of Duty 4, Halo 3, and what have you. But the best aspect of 90% of the best games today is "The great multiplayer," which is, of course, usually experienced over Live (Or the PSN network and the Wii's thing). Well, that's great and all, but how am I supposed to enjoy a game if I can't play the best part of it? It really kind of ticks me off that developers now focus more on the multiplayer than they do the single player. Even upcoming games like Fable 2 focus intensely on co-op. And while it still has a huge single-player campaign and I plan to buy it and enjoy it immensely, I still feel like I'm missing out on a chunk of it just because I can't afford to give Microsoft all my money. So I ask you, good people of the internet, where have all the good single-player games gone? Why do producers think every person who plays their games has friends to play it with? Are we moving into an age where you won't be able to play a game without having another person to play with you? When is this trend going to end?

Well, as far as I know... It seems that the only problem you have is with Microsoft, so why did you feel the need to lump in the PSN and Wii players?? Theirs is freeeee

I don't agree with the thought of Multiplayer being as important as everyone thinks. I have Live, or rather, I had Live thanks to the free trial membership I got with GTA IV, and even so I don't think there's much too it. I liked playing COD4 online but I play the singleplayer more often. And I don't know about you, but I hear Bioshock, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, and singleplayer aspects to Metal Gear Solid mentioned more often than Frontlines: fuel of war, and Enemy Territory: Quake wars. Now I know about Team Fortress 2 and Counter Strike but those are PC games...no Live required, no need to sit though that 30 minute long registration process(I faked all my details, except the e-mail).

Live really isn't that expensive to begin with, and the accessories come with the console if you got the pro or elite version, but I don't plan on upgrading my silver membership anytime soon.

Edit: Shadow Tyrant, you mentioned you only use wireless internet connections. You CAN connect to live via Wi-Fi without buying the wireless network adapter; I've done it. You just need an Ethernet cable and a wireless Windows based PC. It's pretty technical, but Microsoft has directions for it on their Xbox website.

Lucky you. I'm still trying to figure out how to install B&W2 on Vista without admin permissions.

Alright, you repeatedly state that this thread isn't about you and your situation. We understand that (at least it seems the majority of us do). However for those of us listing games that are single-player oriented, we mean to show you that the industry is not focusing solely on multiplayer, and that there are great single-player games out there. We are not composing lists of games for you to play, it seems you have already done that, we are trying to prove that there are more than just a couple of single-player based games out there. It's not about you.

There's no bonus stuff, but I'm missing out on playing with my friends. There's also a difficulty curve when in co-op mode, I'm pretty sure.

Fallout 3 looks lame, I hate Final Fantasy, and I'm not a fan of "casual" games. (Although I'd hardly consider Banjo Kazooie a casual game...)

EDIT: Directed at Shatnershaman.

There isn't a difficulty curve Peter Molyneux has stated he doesn't want to limit the player a Lv 50 can go kill all the Lv 1's monsters for him no problem.

How is Banjo Kazooie not casual with the E rating cartoon characters and simple platforming/vehicles.

Your ignorance astounds me.
