Its all done by Euphoria... you do know that ragdolls and physics are the same thing. User was banned for: Halo 3 Recon: The "Final Statement". (3 days) |

Target practice with a severed head and body mutilation never get old. ... Although I'd probably say something else if my computer could run anything 3d. |

But the physics powers everything, 'Ragdoll' was just a name given to humanoid objects because when they tend to die or fall over they look like one. This thread should have really been titled best physics really. User was banned for: Halo 3 Recon: The "Final Statement". (3 days) |
Anonymous Source Posts: 6 Joined: 23 Jul 2008 | I'd say Half-Life 2. I especially love how Metro Cops go so extremely floppy when they get killed. Some of the WORST ragdolls I've seen in games are Doom 3, Hitman: Blood Money, Far Cry & Riddick. Not to say that those games are bad (except Doom 3) -- they just have weak ragdoll physics. |

Yes, that's hilarious. What would be funny as if the cops actually pulled you over for drink-driving. Awesome fun that game.[/quote They do. Drive by a copcar when you're wasted, they'll pull you over. Some of the most entertaining police chases ever. The Darkness gets an honorable mention from me, although oftentimes it was rather dull, when you speared people with tentacles or ripped their hearts out it was golden. The slug gun was awesome too. |

Press Junketeer Posts: 392 Joined: 11 May 2008 | Halo 3 used to be amusing (wouldn't say the best) with the melee physics, as sometimes the loser would be launched halfway across the map. It made sense seeing as the Spartan could flip a bloody tank, it would seem feasible for him to fling a body a few hundred feet. They've "fixed" this though so no one really gets launched anymore... |

Muckraker Posts: 326 Joined: 4 May 2008 | Max Payne 2 for sure. Catch a guy with a slug in the leg whilst he's mid-dive and he'll spin in the air. Also Project 8 was pretty sweet too (giving you the option to bail yourself) |

The problem with naming the thread best physics was the fact that i don't find a barrel tipping over too entertaining and really didn't want to hear any stories about it. You said it yourself right here, "'Ragdoll' was just a name given to humanoid objects". Well, all i wanted was to compare ragdoll so i used that as the thread title. |

I'm sorry, but what did you just say? Me no speekee 1337. Anyway, I'm gonna go for GTA4. If only to see it implemented in the next BF game. What's all this about the German government? |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 637 Joined: 31 Jan 2008 | GTA 4 for sure but I also really really like the ragdolls from Skate. There not.. flop around kinda ones.. Arms cant move backwards and stuff like that.. It adds a nice flavor to it =D |

I thought that did happen, but you dont so much get pulled over as you get chased, I could be wrong try it out. |

Like, on their knees head bend completely backwards. Some very flexible citizens. Looked rather painful to me. Hitman 1. The knock back from weapons was completely ridiculous on that one. A physics teacher's nightmare. EDIT - Oblivion. Let's not forget the Stretch Armstrong physics of when a body gets caught in a door. |

German laws don't allow ragdolls. There's also other restrictions, but I know only a handful of them. Gore is a no-no. |

You better be kidding O_O |
Beat Writer Posts: 161 Joined: 24 Mar 2008 | all ragdoll are the same. once somet5hings dead, the physics engine kicks in. so basically this is a best physics engine thread :P |
Paperboy Posts: 49 Joined: 22 Jul 2008 | I loved the Ragdoll physics in Saints Row. On the Insurance fraud missions get a decent hit from a speeding car and watch your body fly. One of the better parts of that game. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1202 Joined: 11 Jun 2008 | GTAIV watching a pedestrian hang from your driver side door as you speed down the road, only to fling him into a light post... his body bends in half wrapping around it and spinning off towards the floor. |
Paperboy Posts: 21 Joined: 26 Jul 2008 | saints row had some of the best ragdoll. but i have to say GTA 4 has some pretty good ragdoll especially when you speed down the main drag on algonquin and smash into...something and then go flying only to be hit by oncoming traffic. hilarious. SR2 needs motorcycles and jet planes, and space ships, and helicopter, and crazy flying platforms like the silver surfer.. hur hur hur.... yatzee would label me a blithering cuntbag or something for saying that. hehe |

I liked Max Payne 2's ragdolls. Though it was more of a cinematic than realistic.
Shame about Germany's laws limiting the ragdoll physics though.
