when i read that i nearly peed myself, im fat too (though not a chick) and i find it funny, i never heard of that game till now (kind of inbetween hardcore and casual me) and i would actually buy it, btw if you havent look at the update, Batman related puns rule

From what I gather...the enemy who captured the *thin* princess stuffed her with food and made her into a *fat* princess so it would be difficult for her rescuers to carry her away. I don't see a reason to get up-in-arms about it. It's not bashing or making fun of overweight people. Perhaps the name offended that woman? Actually, looking at the premise, RESCUE THE FAT GIRL, I think it PROMOTES the love of fat girls, but hey, My ex-wife was a fat, ugly, conniving, Manipulative, bitch, and I will never trust fat women again because of it... I think that game is adorable and also think 'what a clever idea'. I'm tired of the feminist/sexism police and im a chick, chubby, and happy. If the game was flipped over and you had a rescue a once-thin-now-fat prince, would we have you guys moaning, complaining and protesting about it? I think not.

What I find most interesting about both the original post and one she links to in her follow up is their immediate assumption that no-one is going to want to rescue the princess because she's fat, a concept I see present nowhere in the game. Her fatness is to make it harder to rescue her, so any reluctance to save her stems from innate difficulty, not from a repulsion to fat folk. The intent and reaction would be the same if the game was Princess With An Anvil Chained to Her Leg or Princess Covered in Bacon Grease.

Her attractiveness (or lack thereof), a major sticking point for both blog posts, is irrelevant to the gameplay. The entire point of the game is to rescue the princess, so that's what we're going to do, no matter what she looks like. Peach is annoying as hell, but we're still rescuing her sorry ass all these years later, right? What, you think we're doing that because she's a size two? Give me a break.

The games called "Fat Princess" not "Fat and Ugly Princess" so I'm not sure why shes so mad.

Apparantly there will be both male and female cartoon characters saving the princess, most likely because of the customization.

Banjo-Kazooie? The protagonists little sister gets kidnapped and the game is lost if she turns ugly.

Dead or Alive? All girls are slim, busty women wearing revealing clothes. Way to discriminate against.. Well, women for being made purely as "eye-candy".

You know what this is? This is an issue that human society collectively has. Not a problem. Not a quirk. A full-fledged fucking issue. And it comes in two parts. (DISCLAIMER: Not everybody falls into this trap, but a great many do.)

Part 1- Society inculcates a collective belief about what is 'positive' in its members. You know it's true. And body image is only the tip of the iceberg. Material Status. Patriotism. Mental Health. From a very young age, many of us are fed society's bullshit about what is and is not 'good' in its members, and those who don't conform with that viewpoint are labeled 'flawed'. And that's disquieting, if not downright disgusting.

Part 2- We buy it. This is a logical by-product of the first part, and it's perhaps more tragic because of that. We allow society to define the desirability of nearly all aspects of ourselves. Some have the courage to break free from that mold and define for themselves what is positive. A great many do not, and by doing that they are practically condemning themselves to NEVER being happy with the person that they are. That's a long dark road to travel.

But don't despair! There's a cure, my friends. Stop taking this crap so seriously!!! I mean, really, you've seen how society operates these days. It's completely schizophrenic! So why in the name of Kratos' soiled loincloth are we allowing it to dictate our supposed 'standards'? Instead, we should live our lives the way WE wish, and mercilessly mock society for it's idiocy and short-sightedness.

On that note, carry on, my fellow posters. Society isn't going to tar and feather itself, you know. :)

That chick in the first link must really have some confidence issues if she's getting all up in arms over a game which isn't even making fun of fat people. The game is just saying that the fat of the Princess is an obstacle to overcome.....There is a life lesson in there, somewhere.

Also, that girl reminds me of john goodman ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goodman ), also, she is a critically obese whore who deserves a heart attack. I know plenty of fat chicks and the only one I ever saw fatter than her was a good person who does not deserve a heart attack (even if she is ugly, for more reasons than her weight). But this lady is an ass who either has a slow ass metabolism or a cone in her mouth that allows her to eat faster than the typical human being. I'm overweight, but nowhere near to the degree as this person. Now I can feel better having a burger....or even a whole pizza in the middle of the night knowing someone at that weight can still move her fingers to type.

In the interest of full disclosure, I am what you might describe as corpulent. I'm not a house, by any means, but I'm definitely heavy. This isn't something I'm ashamed of, however, and it's sure as shit not something that's going to make me blame my own diminished sense of self-worth out on some faceless corporation. It's also something people are in TOTAL CONTROL OF CHANGING. Don't like being fat and unattractive? Go to the fucking gym and eat better, fatty McFatfat.

I could see being offended if you were rushing in to rescue a prince and the opposing team kept exposing him to the gay as a way to keep you from being able to rescue him...

PS: Also, this game looks amazing and I'm going to buy it day 1 and recommend that all of my friends do the same.
