This spawns from playing Metal Gear Online, godly game that it is.

We were playing a Sneaking mission, where one team has to capture the target and bring it back to base. Each player gets one life, so does not respawn.

Long story short, one of the players on my team was kicked. The justification given was:

"Kicked for Tea-bagging.
No Halo losers allowed in my game."

Personally, I was laughing my arse off at this; I despise Tea-bagging and think it is pathetic. Since nobody bothered to complain, I don't know how others felt about it.

So, here's my question; if you were playing an online game where people were immediately kicked for Tea-bagging, how would you feel?

I would probably leave. That's the stupidest reason I've ever heard for kicking someone out, next to "Your name has numbers in it" or "Your character's outfit is tacky."

Kicking someone out for teabagging is justifiable maybe. I don't have a problem with it, but you're obviously all "SERIOUS BUSINESS >:|" about your game, so whatever. But kicking someone out because they play Halo? That's just retarded.

I think the reference to Halo is the fact that Halo invariably takes the flak for having the worst online players around, whether it is deserved or not. My first encounter with Tea-bagging was playing Halo 2, so I'm guessing this guy had similar experiences.

Sorry for my ignorance on the matter...I know what it means in the literal act...but what does it mean to 'teabag' in gaming?

Standing over the head of a killed player and crouching repeatedly. I personally feel it's harmless, albeit silly, though others find it offensive.

I'll never forget the joy I felt the time someone tried to teabag me in Halo PC after killing me with the flamethrower... hot 'nuf for ya?

I have no sympathy for anyone gloating during any kind of PvP. Its no more harmful than people dancing on your corpse and laughing in a MMORPG, its just kinda disrespectful. Just wait until you witness someone get sniped in the head by someone on your team, while tea-bagging your corpse. Goodtimes for all.

Indeed it is, that's the only time I'll ever teabag another player, after I've killed them while they're teabagging someone else.

halo dose seem to get alot of tea-baggers, BTW I hate halo, but I'm gonna be honest, I bet it started with half life and counter strike and all those games, is it valve who make them?

It's happend to me a total of twice but unfortunately I either couldn't see their name or remember them so they stayed.

MGO is more sophisticated than Halo 3, and tea baggin has no place in MGO unless it's with friends or with people who seem nice and just go around doing goofy things (same thing in Halo 3 unless it was a really awesome kill). For example, i had a match with my friend and every time we killed each other we saluted then tea bagged.

There's nothing wrong with Tea Bagging but it's obviously annoying when you're the one recieving the digital anus of some random guy across the country. And considering the fact that there can't really be that many "OMGWTFBBQ" kills in MGO when the physics are wierd.

I save my hip thrusting for friends.

I love teabaggers, because it's so fucking easy to kill them. But I can totally understand kicking them.

It is fairly disrespectful to your foe to defile their corpse with anything but more rounds. Or maybe a knife.

But hey, if virtual necrophilia is your thing....

Sounds like a weak reason for kicking someone. Really weak. Was the host the one being Teabagged, did the teabagger have more points/kills than the host? If someone boots someone else for such a weak reason as teabagging you can tell something else is going on behind the scene. Sounds like a crappy host.

The Halo comment stinks of usual fanboyism you find online but do people still think Halo invented the Teabag? I thought it was well known that it originated in Counter Strike and other PC FPS.

That made my day. It really did.

Glad to oblige. The really hilarious part was that his(?) shields were down, as was his health or so I gather from his dropping dead right after starting the teabag... I can't remember if the game credited the kill to me or if it registered as a suicide.

I think it is not a good reason to kick somebody UNLESS that rule was stated before hand. It would be like a store kicking you out because they have a unwritten rule that people wearing converse shoes are not allowed.

i would think its a realatively weak reason to kick somebody, at least mention beforehand if it won't be tolerated, or just give the guy a nudge and say "hey cut it out". as a side not occasional teabagging for an an awesome kill or killing a friend should at least be somewhat tolerated. if its somebody who goes out of his way to do it, or does it constantly then kick the guy.

Everyone needs someone to hate. It keeps everyone inline. May as well be the odd halo player or 'Haxxor' (someone who just shot the host)

I wouldn't mind if I got kicked for teabagging, although until this thread I'd never heard of it, or seen it, in my life (in a game). I often see people saluting my corpse, am I supposed to take that badly or well?
Also if I know I'm about to get killed, especially if outnumbered, I'll salute the enemy just before I die. I hope they don't take it the wrong way.

I don't honestly see a problem with tea bagging. If someone wants to do it let them have their fun, it is after all only a game. However if a player takes offense to it, some sort of prior warning should be given before kicking someone, it is slightly ignorant to kick someone for such a weak reason.

meh, not so much offensive as people use it as the indicator of another player's IQ or sensibility.
