I agree, there are more than enough series out there that have long run their course. However I think it's been long enough since the last one so that it can be new and original, giving a modern perspective on an old classic. The Monkey Island games are great, however not many modern casual gamers can recognize it, even though it's wackiness would appeal to both crowds. |

Ditch the 3-D interface, take a cue from Zak & Wiki incorporating lots of Wii-mote gestures, and definitely add the bonus of Monkey Island 1 & 2 onto the disc. Wait, they should just port all those games to the Wii anyways. |

There's a fantastic idea. |

Don't get me wrong, I would absolutely love a new, good Monkey Island game which continued the series in a way which did it nothing but justice, but as always with sequels, you have to be wary of them. I'd prefer not to have a sequel than to have one which ruined the experience and memories of the previous ones. It'd be the proverbial black mark on the series which may be remembered more prominently in gamers', especially new gamers', minds than the gems of the previous installment.
I'm all for this. |

Do you think it's possible? I mean, it would have to be done by Tim Schafer, and he would would need permission from Lucas Arts, which is in the realm of possibility.
