Press Junketeer Posts: 403 Joined: 14 May 2008 | One example of someone whinging about kill stealing is when I once had a beam rifle on Halo 3, fighting from a well hidden vantage point. I can actually hear people complimenting me on how I'm doing, scoring several headshots in rapid succession. I draw a bead on another guy, pulling off a headshot, when suddenly one person is calling me a faggot because I stole his kill. However, the guy I shot seemed to be fine, certainly not almost dead. Apparently it was really bad because he was going to get a double kill (gosh!). On a more general note, when a teammate considers it his God-given right to be in the gunner position (not passenger, must be gunner) of a vehicle his friend is driving. Especially annoying when it's a game of CTF, so passengers actually fufill a proper role. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 2976 Joined: 22 Aug 2008 | Team killing, obviously is top of my list. It's so pointless. Accidentally catching someone with a friendly grenade I get. It happens, especially in games like CoD4 when grenade spamming is the name of the game. Knifing one of your team mate is just silly. It's like they don't want to win. The other thing which really annoys me is trashtalking *each other*. We're on a team playing towards a common goal. Why shout at each other? That's not gonna promote a good teamplay feel. In the last hour I played a game of DotA. Two people on my team did nothing but hurl insults at each other until one of them left. We still won, luckily, but it did nothing for morale. I get trashtalking the other team, especially if they trashtalk back. Trashtalking each other is just silly. |

Infamous Scribbler Posts: 546 Joined: 15 Jun 2008 | COD 4 is an ovbious candidate - hence why I only play clan matches now. 1. Sniping with te bomb in Search and Destroy - the whole point is to plant the bomb, now when your a terrible sniper and (go figure) they get the bomb, sit in a conrner, trying to snipe people, and when theres about 10 seconds they finnally over and get killied - ages after the rest of use have already run past the planting sites and died because the bomb hasn't been planted. 2. Teamkiller - its not funy unless Im the one teamkilling. 3. Little kids who try and sing - the xbox mic is not very good quality and your singing is terrible, just switch your mike off - NOBODY wants to hear your high pitched voice trying to sing soome terrible pop song. 4. People who think they are great gamers - yet they stink. Im all for beig good at games, but when you brag about how much better you are than everyone else, somethings wrong particularly when that player is terrible and never comes top. 5. Defuse stealing, If I kill the last two guys on their team guarding th planted bomb, I expect my teamate to be valient enough to give me the diffuse - after all, I did the work - frankly, that never happens and I always get killied so they can earn 50 more points for something they never did. |
Paperboy Posts: 16 Joined: 3 Jun 2008 | Playing music through the mic is the one thing I hate most. Also, in Warhawk a lot of the chokepoints tend to be mined. You're driving and one of your teammates is on the gun, and you stop short of the chokepoint and tell them to shoot out the mines and they just sit there pointing the gun at the sky for a minute until you have to get out and do it yourself. Inversely, when you're the gunner and the driver of the vehicle blazes straight into a mine that's in full view. In an area that always has mines. After you explicitly tell him to stop and check for mines. And mic voice distortion. If you sound like a double bass everyone will know you're nine years old anyways. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1258 Joined: 29 Dec 2007 | They lose. Seriously I'm pretty good so when we just get thrased it ca'nt be there better. If that were the case I'd still have fun because noting's going wrong. Lack of teamwork is my big problem. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 404 Joined: 1 Nov 2007 | This is spesific to team fortress 2. I hate it when your defending (mostly in dustbowl I find) engineers build their sentrys at the second control point, expecting the first to fall. They don't even fight for it. |

Ahh...guilty. Im always stealing peoples kills on team fortress 2...what can i say, im a bastard |

The 1st control point does usually get captured though. Building a sentry by the 2nd control point early on decreases the chance of a spy/scout nabbing the 2nd control point soon after the 1st one gets captured. |

In my free month of gold membership, on my last day, my friends and I just ran around in Halo 3 asking "When does Idiana Jones 4 come out?" Eventually one guy told us and we gave him positive feedback, so we weren't all bad. |

Press Junketeer Posts: 433 Joined: 4 Dec 2007 | Well, I don't play online, so I'll dish crap about the AI's in Star Wars: Battlefront. The first one. Well, I like to pilot. When I'm flying around, maybe going after an enemy, looking for one, or looking for a repair droid, really doesn't matter. Occasionally, to get where I'm going, I have to go over an allied pilot. Okay, apparently when this happens, the AI occasionally decided that it's a good idea to PULL UP! When I'm doing this cool maneuver over you, don't slam into the bottom of my fighter dammit! Another pilot story. I'm flying about, going after an enemy, and suddenly, just out of nowhere an ally slams into my side going at full speed. It's pretty damn hard to miss the broad side of a TIE fighter, so how did you manage to move at full speed, directly, front-end-first and all, into the side? I pilot in third person, so I saw the whole thing go down. I was flying, shooting lasers and all, and the right side of my screen suddenly becomes a blur of gray and black pixels for about half a second. Then we're both falling pieces of burning metal. Or plastic. Or whatever. Also, know that the way I play, it's one life. If I die, I start the match over. This way, death is much scarier, and being a pilot is extremely tense. This was not tense. This just pissed me off. |

They are physically there on the computer talking or typing and can be insulting but choose to be passive and waste their life(this is the one of the few times I can tell people to get a life) not playing a game and not doing anything constructive. |

They're invincible for a short period of time. They often forget that they have to retreat after that short period of time, or that I have to retreat. |

Just an opportunity to rant really. Personal irritants are most COD4 related, as that is what i play more often then not.
1)Camping in a spot that means you spawn behind them (some players don't realise that you spawn near the longest surviving player), unable to move and then get killed by a grenade/headshot/airstrike, while you can't escape!
2)Playing sniper in a HQ game, not realising the above, making it v hard to win the game, because the sniper is inevitably at the furthest point from the HQ.(LAW OF SOD)
3)Insulting you for stealing their kill/capture/defend.
4)Trying to discover glitches...GO PRIVATE!!!
5)Cussing out the team when you don't win, but they aren't MVP on the team...
anyone got any others??
