It really seems that line is just there to drill into your head the fact that Kyrie has no plot importance besides "lol I'm helpless, save me"

Not only does Mega Man sound like a girl, he pronounces Bass' name like a fish, and seems painfully ignorant that a robot built for the sole purpose of killing him IS his enemy.
