Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 961 Joined: 19 May 2008 | I had a Master System, but I was a diehard Nintendo fan up until I got my first PC. Never had a Dreamcast, but apparently it was awesome on the scale of the golden age of SNES RPG's. I've never been a Sonic fan. My favorite MS game was.. Golden Axe Legends I think it was called. It was a Zeldaesque ARPG. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1145 Joined: 23 Oct 2007 | Still own my Megadrive as well - don't have that many games for it, but it was the first games console that I owned. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 3849 Joined: 26 Feb 2008 | I NEVER LOLed about it, but I owned a Game Gear that functioned up until the day I lost it in the move... LAST YEAR! I loved that thing, best money I ever spent on a portable game system until I got my laptop... |

Beat Writer Posts: 172 Joined: 3 Jan 2008 | Genesis and Game Gear. Definitely lots of fond memories. Genesis was the first console I bought with my own money; got it with a Streets of Rage 2 package. And now, I feel I've aged myself far too much. |
Muckraker Posts: 264 Joined: 12 Jul 2008 | I bought a used dreamcast a few months ago with the intention of burning a bunch of games and playing them. It's in my closet. I haven't touched it. |
Paperboy Posts: 41 Joined: 3 Jun 2008 | I had a Game Gear, I loved Sonic on it. I got some other shit game then, cant rember the name, it was an r-type clone, execpt that your ship had the wings of a bird and you had to shoot or eat burgers. It killed the Game Gear for me. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1000 Joined: 2 Jan 2008 | I had a Game Gear, the Genesis, and the Sega CD. The Sega CD was... a less than wise purchase. Actually, of the three, the Game Gear was the best money spent. - J |

Copy Clerk Posts: 90 Joined: 1 May 2008 | Megadrive was my first console. Still remember opening it on a Christmas morning all those years ago, can't remember how old I was though. It had so many good games but the two I loved the most were Flashback and Story of Thor. Shit. It wasn't my first console, I had an Atari before that. Ohh well, it's kinda the first console I owned myself. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1464 Joined: 2 Jan 2008 | I have a Genesis, Dreamcast and (abandoned in a box somewhere) a Gamegear. Ahh, I remember the good ol' days... booting up Sonic and hearing that delightful "Segaaaa~". |

Paperboy Posts: 31 Joined: 30 Jul 2008 | I had a Genesis and the only game I can recall owning for it beyond the first Sonic game (honestly, how didn't own the first Sonic game?) I'm ashamed to even admit. Awesome Possom (kicks Dr. Machino's Butt). That's what happens when you're too young to actually buy your own games and mommy picks things out for you. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 62 Joined: 24 Dec 2007 | I had a Sega Genesis and a Game Gear and loved them both. Not just for Sonic, but for the NFL Madden football games(talking 93-94 when it was new and fun.) There was a few other games I absolutely loved, both platformers, but I can't remember the names of either one of them. Help me out if you know them. One of them involved a pair of twin boys who wielded both swords and magic to fight some evil clown thing, and you got to choose which one you played as, with each one better at a certain thing than the other. The other was about this mummy thing who apparently had eyes in his midsection and that's all I can really remember about it. I hated how the GG was a battery vacuum. That was taken care of when I got an adapter, though. Gosh, I miss my Sega systems... *sighs wistfully* (Still have the Game Gear, but no longer the adapter.) |
Anonymous Source Posts: 9 Joined: 18 Jun 2008 | I never actually owned any sega system, but my cousins did. We would play sonic on Gamegear which I think that was the only game really necessary for the handheld. Both of my cousins had Dreamcast. We played House of the Dead a shit load, crazy taxi, some crazy ass robot game where you fight each other, and Shenmue. Oh and Genesis was pretty crazy at the time. Ren & Stimpy, X-Men, Batman, Jurassic park.. I was given a Sega CD but it was missing a cord so i forgot about it. |

(aww no, my age is showin) now listen here, when I was your age... lol + sega, sega cd, nes, snes, dreamcast, ps1, ps2, and thats about all for the consoles. oh yea, a 1987 MAC computer that has about 200 mhz processor lol |
Copy Clerk Posts: 87 Joined: 20 Jul 2008 | I still got a Megadrive. Streets of Rage 1 for a challenge and Streets of Rage 2 for a walk in the park. Love 'em both. Also, Sonic 2 attached to Sonic and Knuckles so you can play Knuckles through Sonic 2. Friggin' love that. I still remember the level code for Sonic 1... Up, Down, Left, Right, A, Start (just in case any of you wanna try it) |
Paperboy Posts: 24 Joined: 20 Aug 2008 | I love the Sega systems. Fist console I ever got was a Megadrive and I loved it. To this day I still love it. Last year I found a Megadrive selling at a car boot sale for £7 and I jumped to the offer. I allso still own my dreamcast. It is a console that has a good range of cheep and fun games to play. |
Paperboy Posts: 30 Joined: 25 Jun 2008 | I owned a Genesis and only had a few games for it. I remember playing Columns (a Tetris/Dr. Mario typish of a game I guess), and being extremely good at it and the original Sonic The Hedgehog games. I also remember selling it at garage sale when I was really young to make money to buy Pokemon Red...It's the only machine I've ever sold and regret doing it. -EDIT- Actually I've been informed the Genesis and all the games were bought for a house of poor kids or something like that. So now I don't regret it as much. At least I know that some kids that were less fortunate got to enjoy it as much as or even more than me. |

Section Editor Posts: 311 Joined: 30 Nov 2007 | I was a serious SNES fanboy, and did everything I could to prevent people from buying the Genesis, it's myriad peripherals, and the Game Gear. I skipped out on the Saturn debacle and finally fell hard for the Dreamcast and a little game called Soul Calibur. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1000 Joined: 2 Jan 2008 | I almost forgot to mention this. Does the fact that I had the Master System Converter for the Genesis count as having maybe half a Master System? - J |
Beat Writer Posts: 142 Joined: 18 Aug 2008 | Genesssiiss! I miss it so. I regret selling/pitching/whatever happened to my Genesis. The only time I enjoyed a football was on the Genesis. Golden Axe was amazing, Sonic was still fun, and I also had a bunch of learning games for my age too! I remember having Richard Scarry's Busy Town and The Bernstein Bears. Yeesss.. I remember my cousin having the Sega hand held, what was it called? Anywho, we always fought over it.. More than the Game Boy at the time too. |
Paperboy Posts: 41 Joined: 27 Dec 2007 | oh man, this brings back memories. i used to have a sega saturn back aqbout 10 years ago, and i loved it. it had so many great and original games for it, nights into dreams, panzer dragoon, just to name a few. sadly my parents sold it at a garage sale for 20$ along with all the games. i was very angry, as i never said i wanted it sold, they just assumed and took it out of my room. it would probably be owrth a lot more than 20$ today. lpus i had a very rare game for it called mr. bones, in near mint condition. i saw on g4 that mr. bones was one of the rarest console games, and would be worth quite a bit of moolah today. sigh* |
