Paperboy Posts: 43 Joined: 30 Aug 2008 | well the ones I can think of off the top of my head are from SSBB Also when ever something random kills one of us, we just call it 'Bad product placement' and in GoW2 we call the L1+Triangle move the REAL spartan laser. One time when I was on TF2 with some friends, someone made a comment about out Clan Tag (GP) meaning Gay Pals cause we were ticking him off, so now whenever a troll is pestering us about our we tell them that. Also no matter what FPS Im playing if I get a head shot with a sniper rifle I say "Thanks for standing still wanker." with a British accent like the sniper in TF2 |

Then he gives me a blue speeding ticket via plasma grenade. I found it pretty funny. round 2: I drive warthog slowly and cop pulls me over... this is what conversed: round 3: (i'm the cop now) fun :D |

Paperboy Posts: 17 Joined: 29 Mar 2008 | Playing battlefield 2 and the map Road to Jalalabad. We take a que from Team America but instead of Drikastan we say Jalalabad, no one is allowed to say anything not consisting of Jal, ala or bad for the entire map. Also whenever we get a kill with the gravity hammer in halo 3 we shout "give me a hug" |
Copy Clerk Posts: 125 Joined: 29 Aug 2008 | In Final Fantasy Tactics A2, the default name for the clan was "Gully". I literally grimmaced at the default name, while better than "Nutsy", I still thought it was just plain stupid for a clan walking around fighting people to be called of all things "GULLY". I asked my friends for a better name for a clan, but all of them drew a blank. So finally I just thought of the first thing that came to my head, which was, of all things. "PissBagel". When I said that I had named the clan "PissBagel", two people in the chatroom I would visit while playing laughed IRL, mostly because they couldn't believe that I actually named them that because I am NOT the type to abuse that. So for the rest of the summer, I naturally mentioned lines where they said "PissBagel" in a funny term like "Hello, I'd like to join Clan PissBagel!" or "Clan PissBagel! This request is for you!". |
Muckraker Posts: 348 Joined: 13 Aug 2008 | Old HL mod, Desert Crisis... some people really liked the Frag Grenades, and liked to spam them in spawns and all that fun stuff. Well, turns out those silly grenades only did half-damage when you were crouching. So whenever I am playing a game with or talking to someone who played that mod and the subject of explosive death comes up its always followed by: "Should've crouched." This also came to be an ironic statement towards getting raped by any kind of overpowered weapon since the notion of saving yourself via ducking when being rained upon by frags in DC was a joke to say the least. Also, same mod. Some n00b to the game was going around a server once asking "how do u flip n shi?" So that phrase became popular amongst my DC buddies to say "how do I do this?" Yet another one, from a forum post about mapping for the mod. Someone asked something along the lines of: "Can you appointed poetize or is it always the same? I don't hope so." Something utterly non-nonsensical and barely english. It amused us so THAT phrase became slang for "i r confuzd lol". |

That's awesome. That would make a great machinima. Erm, I don't really play multiplayer games very much. All I can think of is when I was playing SSBB with a couple buddies. We were playing the Subspace Emissary and we were at the part with Samus and Pikachu and we had to fight a bunch of robots. I said "Dammit, there's a lot of Geth here. We better equip our tungsten rounds." And we also got into an argument over who was hotter, Samus or Zelda. |
Paperboy Posts: 37 Joined: 24 Aug 2008 | One thing between my friends and I( ha elementary school has taught me well) have a little catchphrase " Jump for life! Jump for life!". It originated from halo:ce whenever we were almost dead we would randomly jump around until our health was back, and it always works. |

Beat Writer Posts: 207 Joined: 7 Feb 2008 | In Cod4 deathmatch, I'm a fan of sneaking behind someone and yelling "You are about to get knifed!" over the microphone. Knife the dude, but everyone else will turn around and check their back or nervously watch the kill details to see who gets knifed. Good fun. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 424 Joined: 4 Jun 2008 | Any mention of the name 'Malcom Vanhorn' around me and friends...enough said. A particularly legendary game of Oddball in Halo 3 where I not only managed to defy gravity but went on to win the match despite being at the bottom of the scoreboard. I picked up the ball and began running, after a short while I was cornered and felt the best thing to do would be to jump off the edge of the map and commit suicide (resets the ball, doesn't it?). |

Press Junketeer Posts: 410 Joined: 7 May 2008 | Me and my friends have turned certain characters into lifelong legends. For instance, Julius from Saints Row. Basicly, Julius has an imaginary friend called Troy. In the mission "Reclaimation", my friend shot at Julius and managed to make him leave the team before the mission had properly started. We played through the mission, pausing only to light ourselves on fire and chase Troy about saying; "infected. New zombie" every time we caught him. Then we wanted to see what it was like with only Julius, and for some reason, it was much more funny. He got in the car and waited a couple of seconds before saying, out of nowhere; "Troy, you worry too much. The kid'll be fine" and as soon as we got there, said; "don't worry, playa! You stick with Troy and me, and we're gon' tear these bitches apart." "Troy, you take on the Vice Kings." It takes up entirely new meaning, doesn't it? And that's only one of the many long running jokes we have with games, books, tv shows and movies. |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 902 Joined: 14 May 2008 | I played Rockband with a few friends of mine. I was on guitar and we were having a good time drinking playing someone singing (badly). Anyway we are doing really good on Run For The Hills. We beat the song and we all start celebrating and I get a little bit too into it and accidentally hit someone in the face with the guitar. So, after many apologies we get back to playing except they make me play behind the couch now while everyone else plays in front of it for safety reasons. So now every time I play Rock Band as a rule I must remain at least 5 feet away from everyone else. |
Muckraker Posts: 347 Joined: 12 Aug 2008 | A week ago I was playing a game of Halo with some of my mates and we decided to have Mongoose battles around Sandtrap with rocket launchers - like a jousting tournament. When the drivers got really close, the guy sitting on the back would jump off, and try hitting either the opponent that was jumping or the other guy that was driving. So anyway, I was driving over a hill, expecting to meet the other "team" on the other side, when out of nowhere this gigantic rock appears and I do a barrel roll in midair. The even awesom-(er?) thing was that my friend jumped off, fired his rocket launcher at the enemy Mongoose, just as I crushed him with my vehicle. And the rocket he fired hit the other Mongoose, killing both of my surviving friends, and making the wreck of the Mongoose do a backflip over my vehicle. None of us said anything for five seconds until I declared; |

Beat Writer Posts: 152 Joined: 28 May 2008 | Most of mine and my bud's in jokes tend to reference the Pro Evolution series. For one, since Pro Evo 3 Johan Cruyff has become an evil mastermind just because of the expression on his face in that game being so angry and evil. Ditto for Ryan Giggs being a complete idiot based on his face in the games. His case hasn't been helped by the fact that whenever the game glitches it always seems to be him. FOr example, he's managed to fall over, get up and then fall over again all by himself and getting an injury. He tends to get stuck in the goal nets quite often as well. |
Beat Writer Posts: 158 Joined: 7 Mar 2008 | when I first got a 360 and GRAW with it I brought it over to my friend's house and a bunch of us played the game from start to finish trading off every once in a while. One of my friends thought the name "Bo Jenkins" was hilarious and picked him to be on the squad every single time. The AI unfortunately wasn't the best and Bo had a certain knack as a grenadier for shooting either team mates or his own source of cover with the grenade launcher incapacitating the entire team at once. And this happened constantly. Since then my friends and I have referred to any AI that does something stupid with explosives as "Bo Jenkins". |

Beat Writer Posts: 186 Joined: 8 Sep 2008 | Me and my mate Darren usually end up doing stupid stuff in Halo 3. We don't really help the rest of our team if we're doing Big Team Battle or whatever so we just basically watch out for each other. Plus in this one game there was this guy on the other team who had the name "Tim" in his gamertag. Everytime either me or Darren killed him we'd say "C'mere Tim, c'mere. T..touch muh barrel" in the style of Tankmen. Anyone who has the name Tim in their gamertag or bio now get's the same treatment. We also have the habit of singing Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler in the style of the club singer. But that's just to be annoying. |
Beat Writer Posts: 201 Joined: 30 Jul 2008 | pretty much me and my friends have a "tag" in place for our running gag... (many of you have probably seen us) our tag is {HaXURs} this is because when we get together we are pretty often called hackers. we just know little tricks in games that REALLY pay off big. for example, one of my best tricks i use isn't in the game. but even my friends thought i had started using hax, its this ... http://www.n52te.com/ so beware, if you see us, we aren't really hacking, were just pretty good. |

What he didn't know was that I'd added the good Dr. to DX so during the match Triple H kept interfering and kicking his teeth in. About the 4th time he showed up he just goes "Yeah....Trips" when he shows up and that kinda stuck with us. Now, just about anytime someone shows up unexpectedly in a game we're playing we both just look at each other and say "Yeah....Trips". |

Operation Left Testicle: A tactic which basically entails all four members of a team waiting at the spawn point in Gears of War, then when all of the opposing team respawn, its chainsaw time.
Also, doing the chainsaw glitch where the person doesn't explode until you equip the Lancer. I had my mate do it to me, then I'd run towards my team mates, who were standing around, and then he'd equip his Lancer. You should have this little guy scream haha. We do that one a lot now.
