Is anyone going back and playing last-gen games? I'm still finding charm in the 2D games, particuarly the remakes like bionic commando but now i'm finding it hard to play last-gen 3D games without the than shiny graphics and tighter controls. I tried to play a few ps2 games on the weekend and lost interest very quickly, the only ones that still hold their appeal are the cel shaded ones (which i probably won't ever tire of).

is anyone else on the ps3 still playing ps2 games or similarly with the xbox.

Yes, as a matter of fact before I posted this I was playing Metal Gear Solid 3 and before that I was playing Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake on my PS3

Yeah all the time. I'm currently playing the GC version of Twilight Princess, but I'm always going back to my old games.

Oh, I'm a last-gen buyer meself. All the games I couldn't be bothered to buy for full price are now budget, with a few rare exceptions where they've only gone UP in price, but such is typicallity.

I play Battlefront with my cousin every day. I'm still trying to get all the collectibles in Psychonauts. :/

Due to my Xbox loyalty (grrrr.... fanboyism) I am left horribly disappointed with the offering of RPGs so, yes, I am going back and reliving my epic-hero questing glory days on my PSone and PS2 that I bought solely to scratch that particular itch for a decent story and an obsessive need to be the most unstoppable being in the universe.

I can out-"old-fashion" you all by saying recently I've had a sudden urge to play "Kings bounty" on the megadrive and/or DOS. (and I have to play Streets of rage if it's in my line of sight by law) GAAAAWD BLESS EMULATORS!

I would be if my brother didn't lose my PS2. I got £50 so I can't complain too much.

God I love Streets of Rage. Finally got my hands on a copy of the third one too. Granted tis via virtual console but still. I've lost count of the amount of times I finished the first.

Indeed, for me there's very little of interest on current gen consoles, though there are a few interesting titles coming out in the future. I play mostly oldish strategy on the pc (total war, aoe2 etc). Having recently quit wow after 2 years of addiction to it, i rediscovered mgs2 and many others on the ps2 and xbox.

Yes, actually-- I've recently gone on a series of PS2 buying sprees, playing all the games I always meant to play. Sixty bucks can get you a lot of old PS2 games.

Maybe some options other than Playstations? Anyway, I'm playing the Nintendo 64 to fill the void left by my broken 360.

I absolutely LOVE my Nintendo DS.
Right now I'm playing all the classic 8-bit Nintendo games on it (Ninja Gaiden, Castlevania etc) on my Nintendo DS thanks to emulation and a wee bit help from the lovely young fellows at M3 :)

I have exactly one playstation 3 game I play at all. Other then that I just use it as a media center and to play my old ps2 games. Now if only they would make it so I could play music on it WHILE I played ps2 games my life would be complete.

Very, I love playing indie RPG games still like Geneforge and Eschlon Book 1 just based off of how amazing the gameplay is even if it looks like early 1990 game.

Then again I am one of those freaks who plays Rouge games(Crawl,Castle of the Winds). So I'm sure something is wrong with me.

I still play the God of War games, but I'm a graphics whore when it comes to my awesome HD tv; playing things like Spiderman 1 just feels like betrayal.

My Megadrive has seen so much use over the past few months. Street Fighter, Tiny Toons and Captain Planet. These are good, good times!

I actually never liked the 7th generation of gaming. (I'll give you a second, so I can run as fast as I can). Yes, I took a stop to the new games and only play old classics. Why? At least, I have the feeling that a company hadn't sacrificed something from the game. (Excluding Portal).

Yes, for me the best generations were the 4th, 5th and 6th. It had fun games, I actually wanted to wake up early and play a game all day.

When will I buy a new game? Probably in the 8th generation. When the developpers won't go crazy on the whole "graphics", and then I will enjoy a good gameplay.

The only thing I will regret in the 7th generation is Silent Hill: Homecoming. I've played 1, when I was young. I've been searching for the copy of 2,3 and 4 (yes...4 ) for the xbox.

Now If you will excuse me, I'm gonna run for my life.

I've recently (tried) to play Jak 2 on my PS3 but couldn't save because of no memory cards. THough I should really go on a PS2 spree, I've missed alot of games before.

Thanks to my PC, I'm backwards-compatible all the way back to the freaking EDSAC. That's right - I've got a simulator of the computer that had the second-oldest computer game ever made on my PC, with the said game, OXO, from 1952. 1952!

I don't have a PS3, so my PS2 is my current gen tech... But I do still have my N64 and Super Nintendo that I still play.

Chrono Trigger, old Sonic games, among others.

My Ps2 is without Backwards Compatability, so I've had to keep my Ps2 out. Its fine, except I have to switch over the AV cable.

I have a 360 and a ps2, I still play the occasional game on the latter.
It's particularly useful when the 360 splutters and dies and I have to use the ps2 for my gaming needs until it's fixed. (My computer is so crappy it had trouble playing the original half-life.)

I play old games all the time from any system. Graphics have never hampered me from playing a fun game. I still play Nintendo, PS1, N64 and the whole lot, certain games are just fun no matter the age or visuals.
