My all-time favorite game ending is Final Fantasy IX. I loved those characters and loved the way the story resolved itself (even if it was stereotypical JRPG treacle, it was really sweet stereotypical JRPG treacle.)

Oblivion's End credits. Because to my reccolection, there are none. Yeah! Do the Dew!

I almost feel bad for saying it, but Portal. What's funny is I just played Portal for the first time two days ago because for some reason I never felt the need to. I've owned it for....a long time. Since the OB came out. I even remember everyone saying "OMG GRATE GAME PLAY NOW OMG!!!1", but for some reason never really got around to it.

Other than Portal I typically ignore the end credits in most games. Which Nintendo game is the one where you can shoot the names, though? I remember watching that one.

Great stuff. I hate credits that are just a black screen with a bunch of names. No one wants to watch that. I like it when they goff off or even continue the story (like Portal).

The end credits of Warcraft 3 are also stellar in amount of wtf. (Exploding sheep? Check. Electric guitar-playing units? Check.)

Commander Keen 1: Marooned on Mars ended with Billy taking an alien home to keep as a pet.

I'm remembering some game that featured a rail-shooter credits, in which one could shoot at the names as they flew past. Can anyone enlighten me as to what that was, since I can't remember?

Of course portal, but i also really liked the one of Devil May Cry 3.

The game ends (minor spoiler) with one of these typical "oh, there are still endless enemies to fight" scenes, and during the credits, you actually take on endless hordes of monsters.
Also, when you managed to kill a certain number of enemies, you got some bonus (i think it was a small epilogue cutscene, but not sure)
A bit silly, but fits the game.

In terms of sheer beauty, there's the ending credits of Shadow of the Colossus, even if it's a bit of a cheat since the credits start to roll before the story/game is really "over"

Obviously Portal, I can say that much without thinking.

I still think the Butterfly ending in Rez is one of the most touching endings. I've only ever managed to see it once because it's so bloody hard to get, but it was a thing of beauty.

Also I'll nominate The Dig for being one of the most atmospheric. I found myself open-mouthed in wonder as everything wound up, and it still gives me shivers down my spine.

Oh, and for sheer fun, Beautiful Katamari. How many other games give you an 8-bit shooter to play as the credits roll? Very thoughtful and entertaining.

I love the castlevania end credits great music... also like the Urban Chaos credits they were pretty cool.
Also love the credits of MGS but most of the times... I don't really care for all those names.

I gotta agree on Portal. Also, the credits to Warcraft 3 are nice, it's a humorous in-game cutscene parodying cutscenes from Warcraft 2, among other things.
