Jobz: Well I've never had a problem with my 360, and I prefer being able to use analog sticks and buttons to aim, move and perform actions. Rather than having to swing and lunge with a little plastic box to do anything in a game.
I don't know if anyone else had this problem, but I found the Wiimote to be very unreliable One moment it worked flawlessly, next moment I'm pointing it at the left side of the screen and it refuses to move from the middle. Games requiring you to hold it on it's side and tilt it forward to move (Mario Kart Wii) were even worse, as you have to turn the thing almost completely upside down for it to go anywhere.
I personally hate the Wii and don't really understand what children (And certain adults I suppose) find so great about it. But hey man, whatever floats your boat.
That error was with starting Wii games only, in which as I said, if you turned down the Wiimote volume it went away. It was an odd glitch in early Wii programming. It's actually very accurate of a system, and you don't have to play like that, almost every game allows for the option to use a Game Cube, Nun-chuck(racing games for this example), or Classic Controller. Besides, it's suppose to pick up a strong FPS market as Valve said they love the Wii and it's idea.
Also, for Super Mario Sunshine, you had to do some of the no water pack missions. I mean hell, you needed almost all Sun Sprites to get into the final area.
I really can't seem to get any good use out of my Wii. Basically the game selection seems to suck and the only one I've really enjoyed is SSBB (I've played it since N64 days so I guess that makes me a fanboy) and Fire Emblem Radiant dawn, everything else just seems...bad?
Apparently there have been releases in English, but not with much success...
Thanks mate, aprreciated.
EDIT: It says on there that a XIII film starring Val Kilmer and Stephen Dorff is currently in production with a planned release in 2009. Shame they didn't get Dave Duchovny back to play XIII, seeing as he's a real actor too, unlike Val Kilmer.
Suppose if the film did well, they'd discuss a follow up of the games, maybe.

For a lot of good Wii games you've to dig around because they don't really advertise much, and I don't understand why.

I thought their ads just consisted of 20 seconds of a pre-rendered video of Mario and a voice over shouting "MARIO!...........MARIO!..........MARIOOOOOOO!........only on wii!" - Even they're not trying anymore.
And that's coming from a self confessed Nintendo Whore!
Right, I'm 19 and student (of games design incidentally) so therefore I must fall into the catagory of beer swilling, XBOX 360 owners who only like button bashing FPS' where someone dies every five second. On the flip side to the "Wii is for kids" stereotype, I personlly hate the "All XBOX owners are FPS' madden imbeciles" I actually do own an XBOX and like some FPS' but not Halo or CoD4, and in my group of 20 or so XBOX games only 3 are FPS' :- Fear, Timeshift, and Condemned (If you want to call it an FPS') They may not be brilliant but I like them.
Here's the twist in the tale though; I also own a Wii and get just the same ammount of use out of it and yes almost all my games are "Casual" games like SSBB, Mario Strikers, and Resi Umbrella Chronicals. These are all great games that can be played for 30mins or an hour and then do something else, they make good time fillers. But the Wii has some sneaky hidden games that can steal days off you without even realising; Harvest moon (And I don't care who knows that I like a farm sim, its brilliant and beats most FPS' anyday) for example I only stopped playing because someone started banging on my door to see if I was still alive, No More Heroes is another good one.
And finally... Wii graphics = bad? While they may not be as amazing as the PS3 or XBOX 360. There still leagues above older game graphics, Just because they are the worst of the bunch, doesn't mean they're not still good. And besides if a games storyline and gameplay is good it shouldn't need stupidly powerful graphics... Just coherent ones.

Duchovny is not an actor I enjoy a lot, and he wouldn't match XII's hardened looks... Kilmer is an equally bad choice, but to be fair, I don't know who would have looked good... Maybe Ewan MacGregor or Liam Neeson (who was awesome in Taken), if only their roles in SW did not humiliate them that much...

I meant a lot of good third party games aren't, but I've only seen SMG advertisement when it first came out. It could be the fact I live in the USA and have network TV. And Rusman, I'll agree with you there.

I don't mind DD to be honest, big X-Files fan.
The character in the game always looked a bit like George Clooney to me. But I wouldn't want him to be in a film that I may watch.
EM and LN are good but yes you're right. Star Wars ruins all, hehe.
I just got a Wii on a impulse buy myself to add to my PC gaming and 360 gaming. Honestly well some may say I am one the Wii's demographics I honestly like a lot of the games it has upcoming with the unique art style "No more heroes" and their rougelike games like "Chocobo Dungeon" are fun and enjoyable. It's also nice to know if I have family and friends over it has a lot of quick and easy pick up and play games anyone can enjoy. Not really sure where the idea of fun "casual" games became such a evil word.

It makes some "hardcore" gamers feel uneasy knowing it's no longer their world anymore, now anyone's a gamer. Also, have you got Boom Blox? It's amazingly fun.

Not yet,Though after reading up on the game seems like it's now on my games to buy plus it seems to have the same fun zanny world feel with the little guys that Katamari has.
Ya its funny thinking of how on a lot of internet forums it's "Hardcore" vs "Casual". I Just find it hard to think of anyone as "hardcore" as gaming is so accepted now its like thinking of "hardcore" TV watchers.True it may not be SuperX3000 they play but bejeweled or bowling but I still think it counts just as more watched CSI then Deadwood. Just hope gaming counter culture dosn't become a elitist environment where if you like X,Y and Z your not a "True gamer"

Explainthe "XYZ" as I've not seen antyhing withh "XYZ", or just an example? But Boom Blox is amazing, especially the Jenga, which as a heads up you can move multiple pieces but once you pull one out and let it hit the floor your turn's over. I was ruining the match pulling pieces at random and swinging the Jenga piece knocking it slightly out of place.

Was just a example of what games I see a lot of "hardcore" gamers saying are not games like Bejeweled etc..
Is it online then as well and does it allow you to play mutliplayer on the same console if it is? Jenga used to be a favorite game of mine so to have a fun digital version of it to play with friends plus no clean up or set up sounds like a must buy then.
It's local Multi-player only. I wish it was online. They've two versions regular Jenga and color coded one. I've never seen someone say Bejeweled isn't a game, but then again I usually stray away from the gaming crowd 'till recently.
dannydamage: Toriyama made fun of his own work already. If you can't make fun of yourself, who can you make fun of?
Sorry dude, but I prefer the whole deep, spiritual, time-taking, chi-raising style of DBZ compared to the majority of anime crap that comes out consisting of either guns, tits or some dude jumping inside one giant robot to go and fight with another dude....who's also inside a giant robot.
EDIT: I am pretty gutted that they're gunna ruin it (further in your eyes) by doing a live action film. *sigh* can't they just leave things alone. Spielberg's even doing a remake of Ghost In The Shell, for whatever reason. Not that I'm a HUGE fan of it, but I know it's gunna
piss off a LOT of people.
hold on hold on, a live action DBZ movie? dear god thats going to be god-awful. im not a huge fan of DBZ but i can watch it and be entertained. but a live action movie? thats a step too far

I'm tired of seeing Clooney everywhere, even if he's a very good actor, really skilled. But the cel-shading did not do much justice to the drawings of Vance...

You can actually aim with horribly slow dual analog sticks?
Do you have a newsletter I can subscribe to?
Sign me up too!
I'd like to see a COD4 deathmatch of similar skill level Xbox players Vs. PC players (each on their respective machines). I guarantee the PC players would win, in fact i'd stake my fortnightly paychek on it!
You can't compare Dual analog aiming to mouse aiming, there's no contest!
XBOX360 - Joy, have a shed load of the same games, redesigned from the same FPS' (not gunna name it) engine.
It's funny that you mention that, considering almost all the Wii's games are godawful save the ones that they've been regurgitating incessantly for up to twenty years.

There have actually been a bunch of quality titles that have fallen by the wayside because of predisposed attitudes like this. Additionally, several third party titles have been shown recently for release in the next 6-12 months that look as if they show real promise.
Not to mention the fact that I'd hardly call Mario Galaxy or Metroid Prime "regurgitations".

Seconded. Also, Mario Galaxy is PROOF that Ninty isnt all about the casual games. Don't believe me? Well, Play it up till you get to the level "Luigi's Purple Coins". Then tell me how a 5-year-old could do that without losing thier mind. Seriously, that's the closest an official Nintendo game has gotten to Kaizo Mario.
