I mean, I know the first game was flawed. Aka; Tediously easy mostly, which made quests short and unsatisfying to say the least.
But somehow I still liked it.
I did not finish the first release of Fable, but decided to finish L.C instead.
I was too busy trying to work out the point of all the things the game had to offer.
(besides, what's an rpg, without the role-playing aspects?)
Things like 'going to bed' with your wife (or husband, if you were keen on finding a gay bastard, coz there's only like one in the entire game.)
I then came to the sad realization that it was all for statistics-sake.. Like, for example, gtfuckinga.

Anyway,

If there's more of a purpose and if it is (as claimed it will be,)
more difficult.

Then, sweet.

I find myself pretty excited, and hope it isn't terrible.

That wouldn't be good at all.

I haven't been following the development very closely, nor did I play the first Fable... but from what I'm hearing, this one will be a winner.

Of course, I seem to recall the first Fable falling short of everyone's expectations, so who knows.

I will have to wait a few weeks after its release to buy it, since im only sixteen at the moment. but if I do not get it I will cause mass pandemonium on all planes of earth until I do get it.

Well, the screenshots do look promising.

I think it will be interesting to know what's it's gonna be about..

It's a shame you can't name the dog (I would have called mine 'Scruffs McDuff')
It would be a shame if the co-op has terrible camera angles that don't let either player see well.
It would be a shame if it turned out that Mr Molyneux was just flapping his gob off at the collective media all this time and the entire game consists of dancing around a tree while the dog follows you, shouting "chicken chaser... does he chase chickens?"

Haha!
Fable is based around some terrible humour.

I'm looking forward to the previlege of paying to be called "arse-face" once more :|

In all seriousness, it looks good, but I'm saving my money for fallout 3 and will probably borrow a friend's copy a month or two after release.

Meh, the first one made me a sad panda. :( I was expecting Fable to split the atom. And while it was fun for awhile I traded it in after 3 months. Now i'm only cautiously optimistic about Fable 2.

I'll probably rent it before I buy it.

I avoided the hype for the first one and it went on to become one of my five favorite games of all time. I have been trying to do the same for the sequel but unfortunately I'm so psyched about it I'm starting to get caught up in the hype.

I hope it doesn't end in tears.

Not really that excited about Fable 2. Left for Dead is what I'm really looking forward to.

I'm a little excited for it.

I'm definatly going to be renting it because I'm scared that it will have a lot of the short comings that Fable had. If it doesn't, and happens to be about two or three times as long as Fable, then I will probably purchase it.

Very excited. I played the first game and, since I had just started gaming, I was terrified of dying. I grinded (ground?) my character until his stats were maxed out before starting the first mission. Made the game quite easy, as you can imagine.

So now I've ordered the Limited Edition set for Fable 2. Cost me 92 bucks.

What? I want the extra content.

I think closer to the release date I'll freak out and pre-order it or something.

I can picture the box now..
it's so shiny. :'(

I hope it has the same economics system as the first game. I loved the ability to buy a carrot for 5 gold and sell it back for like 100. (Although it's more efficient with diamonds and other shiny things.)

I don't think they'll take away a lot of those qualities. (At least I hope not.)
I see Fable 2 as being nextgen improved, with slightly modified content (obviously,) of the original.

I absolutely loved the first Fable, beaten it countless amounts of times over the years since it came out and just can't seem to get tired of it. Sure it has it's flaws, but what game doesn't? I can't wait for Fable 2, I have the Limited Edition pre-ordered :D

I'm a sucker for extra content.

I just hope the local multiplayer is good enough that I can enjoy playing it with a friend.

I think if Obilivion can, Fable 2 will.

the xbox controller is the best controller of all the current console ones.. I used to hate it, and praise the PS2 one, but since playing with the xbox one for so long, having the joystick where the playstation put its Dpad makes SO MUCH SENSE.

I think the xbox controller is heaps comfortable.
(Heavier then a PS controller.)
Although I've never used the PS3 controller.. is it any different to the PS1/2...? O___o

The xbox controller ruined my finger joints, now they make clicking noises whenever I clench my fists. That said I do prefer the feel over a ps2 controller (haven't tried a ps3)

Haha.
My hands are like that too.
But
(and this is only a theory,)
How big are your hands..? ;)

Coz my hands are tiny and perhaps that's why I perfer it? Maybe it's easier to navigate on a xbox controller with smaller hands?

Ehh.
Then again.
It's probably just what you're used to.

I pretty sure Oblivion wasn't ported to PC it was made for both simultaneously. Then ported to PS3 :P.

It seemed pretty common among my friends that had x-boxes, so I don't think hand size had much to do with it.

Did anyone else just ignore the storyline completely in the original fable and just escort random traders through the dark forest (darkwood?) continously until their character was too old (yet somehow super muscular) to really look the part of a hero? I did.

I find the aging process annoying in general actually.

I never really understood how the aging process worked or why it was necessary, considering that it amounted to exactly nothing in the game. Still, the original Fable was a good game, it's just that it was said to be so much more. If all the claims are true this time, then we'll be looking at a fantastic game. If not, then a slightly above-average one.

Well, I've never actually played Obilivion before.
Hence my knowledge about it is limited.. All I know that it's a massive open world rpg.

I also realised after replying to milomalo that I read their post wrong.
I thought they were asking if Fable 2 would ever be able to run as well as the first one did on PC - which would have been a stupid question anyway.
Even though I haven't much familiarity with newer games on PC and haven't bought a new graphics card in about 3 years - I know now that, some pc's can run games just as well as you can on a console.

It should be pretty suave.

It'll be a game I get as soon as it comes out. The first game didn't do terribly well in the way of a deep story, but it was a great deal of fun to mess around. I spent a long, long time buying every building in Albion (Bowerstone North took ages), but it certainly gave the game a lot of longevity. So I'm pretty sure, regardless of if the main quest and such, I'll still be able to find a lot of fun in Fable II.
