When asked about his opinion on Guitar Hero Noel (Oasis, before you ask) responded with this ditty.

If it puts little plastic guitars into kids' hands and fires their imaginations, I think that's a good thing. It's harmless fun, innit?

I'd rather that genre of video games than somebody getting their fucking head chopped off with a samurai sword while getting fucked by a goblin up the arse with a laser. Do you know what I mean?

Why yes Noel. I know exactly what you mean. You've just succinctly summed up every video game ever made

So you're saying Liam's songs made Noel famous...

Yes that's what happened, even though the first song for Oasis that Liam wrote was Little James, for their fourth album...

Ah shit. I got them mixed up again. In my defence Oasis haven't been relevant for about 5 years now.

Yes no one likes them, that's exactly why tickets for the UK leg of their tour sold out within an hour...

Care to give a reason why they stopped being relevant in '03?

Also Liam is the only surviving member of the original Oasis which was making money for three years before Noel joined.

Makes you wonder what game he was thinking about... and why he isn't sharing whatever he's on.

I dread to think what game he's been playing.

Maybe a new Oblivion Mod...

Truly the darker side of the modding community.

I haven't cared about Oasis for years, but that's just my opinion.

I think whoever said that missed the point of them being asked the question

Pardon me but when i read your post and like the way you pretended you were talking to 'noel' then i have to say that indeed, mr. You, you seem be yet another "nitwit" who copies yahtzee f*cking croshaw. EW!

Anyways - He didn't sum up ever game ever made because i'm buggered if i'm nub faced enough to let any goblin remain within sight long enough to get near me let alone my arse. As for chopping heads off i don't do that because I don't play those kinda games. I play EvE.

And to fix up what i just said, i'll make it known that for me at least the "goblin" i referred to is a slang term for an enemy ship...

ehhhhh

You should have seen the rant that he edited out.

I thought it was a pretty funny quote. And I'm sure himself and the rest of the band are enjoying the cash from their DLC releases. Can't wait to see them again next time they're touring the US.

Ha ha what a legendary quote. That should go on the box of Guitar Hero, they should have adverts with him saying that.

I don't care that he's talking about a game only he's played in his nightmares, that's still a hilarious quote & better than any of the shit people like Jack Thompson come out with.

Well personally, I'd rather people went out and formed original bands that made original music, rather than slavishly following everything already done by The Beatles. Know what I mean?

Hmmm, and where can I obtain said mod?

Nah it just sounds like a typical case of someone who hasn't played a videogame commenting on them in general and stuffing it up because they only know about games through the media and thus have a twisted perception. I think of it as the equivalent of myself being asked to comment on Star Trek, having only seen Family Guy parodies and Galaxy Quest.

Or Dylan... I hate to sound like a tunes aficionado but Dylan spawned like all music, from bowie to rap. But that's beside the point.
What is standing right on top of the point is that i think this game is overrated talent-wise... I mean there have been plenty of hardcore nerd-games that made u tap keyboard keys in perfect time to an impossible rhythm - it would seem to me none of this music is truly original, especially with random 5-button guitars. Is it even five? four?

in other news i'm sugar high, a liter of lemon ice tea and a coke'll do that to ya! shaking's not funnnNnNNnnN

Overrated Talent-wise: Most probably, especially in the easier sections.
Fun Game: Hell yes.

In the same way that I know Metal Gear Solid won't turn me into a grizzled neck-snapping, tight body suit wearing, angsty, stealth killing soldier, I know that getting perfect on When You Were Young does not, in fact, make me David Keuning, however both games are really fun.

Sure its a bit of a dumb quote based on no real knowledge of gaming...

At the same time 'Non violent games might be better for kids than violent ones' probly isn't quite as bad a thing to say as the kinda nonsense JT or the UK's own Keith Vaz come out with.

And it has got a lot of people interested in a wider range of music, just like, to a lesser extent, games like Gran Turismo and GTA gaves exposure to a wide range of music they may never have heard of.

I would usually agree with you that both are fun but i've only really ever played metal gear.
Anyways i'd understand that as everyone loves guitar hero - i've no beef with it. But i do stand by my branding it 'overrated' in the talent-dispensing department.

Quite. Yahtzee invented addressing someone he's quoted directly. Shit it's not like Charlie Brooker has been doing it for years, or Douglas Adams. Or the guys on Something Awful. Or every fucking writer since the dawn of god damn time.

*Insert my applause here*

Thank you for summing up my problem with everyone's opinions on originality.

Gonna have to disagree with you on that one. He made folk popular, and is one of the greatest lyricists ever, but his direct influence only spreads so far. Metal, for instance, was inspired and created by artists such as Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Jeff Beck and others.

Anyways, back on topic: boo, Noel, boo!

I think we should make a game that includes that exact scene, just to spite him. Anyone know basic programming?

Wait, this is one of the Gallagher brothers saying violence is bad? If I recall they got kicked off any future flights on Qantas for brawling with each other.
