So...for the first time ever, I have been forced to make a list of games that I am getting...and narrow it down greatly. Some of the games I've been looking forward to buying the most are now being put on the "rental" list.

Here is a list of awesome games coming out for 360 soon in North America. It's not even full, as I've noted that a few are missing.

Does the PS3 game debut list have as impressive a lineup? If so, we are in for one hell of a season. Also I know that some of these are multiplatform, but seeing as I'm mainly a 360 person, I only know the 360 games and dates. Feel free to include PS3 titles as well.

These are NA release dates gathered from websites like Gamefaqs, IGN, etc. A couple may be wrong, seeing as Rock Band 2 has 3 different dates announced on three different sites. I'm sure it's not the only one to have confusing release dates.

Mercenaries 2: August 31st - $60
NHL 09: September 9th - $60
Rock Band 2: September 14th - $60 game, $70 Guitar, $90 Drums
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: September 16th - $60
BIA: Hell's Highway: September 23rd - $60
Midnight Club: LA: October 7th - $60
Saints Row 2: October 14th - $60
Dead Space: October 20th - $60
Fable 2: October 21st - $60
Far Cry 2: October 21st - $60
Guitar Hero World Tour: October 26th - $60, $100, $190
Fallout 3: October 28th - $60
Tom Clancy's End War: November 4th - $60
James Bond: November 4th - $60
Gears of War 2: November 7th - $60
Call of Duty: World at War: November 11th - $60
Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts: November 11th - $40
Mirror's Edge: November 11th - $60
Left 4 Dead: November 17th - $60
Prince of Persia: November 18th - $60
Tomb Raider Underworld: November 18th - $60

Impulse buyers like myself...beware.

I fear for my brother's bank account if any of these have collector's editions. *sigh* him and his addiction to shiny boxes.

People who are impatient get screwed over with collector's editions...mainly because a majority of game stores have found that people who get releases just at or right after launch are willing to pay 10-20 dollars more for something that they don't care about. About 8 of my games are collector's editions just because the store is "conveniently out of normal editions". I've worked in the electronics department at a few of these stores, and I've seen first hand that they buy a huge percentage of collector's and a tiny percentage of normal editions to maximize profits.

Life of a machine, I suppose.

Oh, Banjo Kazooie is only going to be 40 dollars?

I'm kind of shocked.

Oh, and when is LBP? October 10th? Anyway,I think it's gonna be 30 for online, 40 for the disc.

Far Cry 2, Stalker: Clear Sky, Left 4 Dead, and Fallout 3...This latter quarter of the year will be excellent.

I just order them in terms of replayability. So the RPGs I want ive already preordered, and then things like Far Cry 2 and other games with lots of replayability, until we get down the line to things like Mirror's Edge, which looks good, but I probably wont get hours upon hours out of it.

Apparently they haven't set a concrete date yet. All they've said is October.

I don't get it. How is that lineup any better than the 2007 lineup? (besides graphics)

Apart from graphics, Fallout 3 looks completely inferior to 1 and 2.

I'd say the best releases this fall are

Good Old Games
NWN2: Storm of Zehir
possibly The Witcher: EE

Its times like this I'm glad I have government assistance for my mental disability.

Anyway,

For Ps3 Exclusives, North America Release dates

August 21: Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty
August 26: Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice (It has rekindled my love of JRPGs - and I love it even though I have never played any of the others)
October 14: SOCOM Confrontation
October 21: Bioshock
October 28: Motorstorm: Pacific Rift
October (Sometime - different sources are giving different dates): LittleBigPlanet
November 4: Resistance 2
November 4: Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm
November 11: Valkyria Chronicles
November 25: Tekken 6 (Thats what Wikipedia says)

Possible Fall releases
Fat Princess
Afrika
Home
Flower

And for multiplatform, you missed Destroy All Humans: Path of the Furon. C'mon, its an equal contender for the destroy everything in sight for the hell of it award.

The only two I'm interested in are Fallout 3 and Left 4 Dead, and the only one that I'm buying on release is Fallout 3, which I will then proceed to tear apart in a review in the finest fashion for not living up to my over-reaching expectations.

Or not, if Bethesda actually manage to hit that sweet spot, but nothing that I've seen so far has managed to change my mind. I speak only as a Fallout fan, not as a detractor of Bethesda's work.

I would have been fine with Fallout 1 combat and graphics. But Bethesda's just removed too many gameplay features for me to buy it.

BIA: Hell's Highway: September 23rd - $60
Midnight Club: LA: October 7th - $60
Saints Row 2: October 14th - $60
Tomb Raider Underworld: November 18th - $60
Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts: November 11th - $40
Guitar Hero World Tour: October 26th - $60, $100, $190

They are the only games out of your "Wish" list i'am not going to buy all the rest though will be mine when available. Mirrors edge is my only concern still i Just dont trust EA to not do a rush job like most of the games the stick those two little letters on.

To be perectly frank, over a third of the ones in the op's list I can't see anyone giving a damn about. For fun, try to guess which ones. The answer may suprise you.

Amazing. These were all on the list of games I thought no-one could give a crap about.

Okay, try to guess the other 2

I'm waiting for the new Prince of Persia. It looks fucking awesome. But the game I am most looking forward to this year is undoubtebly LittleBigPlanet.

I thought you wanted Resistance 2 most?

Oh yeah, LBP is going to be awesome! I can't believe I forgot about it.
Last years fall lineup I wasn't crazy about...only a few games I picked up.

This one, I can only point out a few games I don't want to at least play!

And PS3's lineup is pretty awesome. A lot of those games I'll be tricking my dorm neighbor into buying, and then barge into his room unannounced to play. Man I love college life.

Course, it'll be payback for him and the rest of my floor coming into play rock band.

Edit: Dingo, I'm not buying all of them (my wallet would run away from home), in fact, I'm going to try to limit myself to one a month...but that'll be really tough.

Hmm I only like 3 of those games listed Fallout 3, Fable 2 and Left 4 Dead. Others that I'm looking forward too (If they're released in 2008, I live in UK so hey anything could happen)

- Rise of the Argonauts
- C&C: Red Alert 3
- The Last Remnant
- Resistance 2
- Sonic Unleashed
- Fracture
- Silent Hill: Homecoming

However, I have yet to check release dates again, so some may have changed but they're the ones I'm looking forward too.

C'mon, the time when you consider a port to not be a different game is about 6 months. After that, its its own version. Thats why Bully: Scholarship Edition was considered a Wii and 360 exclusive.

LittleBigPlanet is the reason why I may soon have all the consoles of this current generation.
Anyways I'll just spend my money on those that have potential that is not a darn sequel
(left 4 dead and Mirror's Edge)

Aww... when you said Wow in the lineup I figured this was on how Blizzard basically controls the world from now to 2010. My bad. But geez, this is gonna be a hard year for me... college blows.

And now, for the no release dates but still supposedly possible:

Fracture
Brutal Legend
Cipher Complex
Damnation
Dark Void
Prince of Persia
World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King
X-Blades
Edit: MY mistake, Fracture does have a set release date, with October 7, in both America and Europe.
